  1. Pretty sure its not an EXB file, but v10 seems to download something in background to allow offline working. If anyone can track down exactly what, please let us know!!
  2. It might take a while - the real crunch is going to be exactly how fast can Evernote add new (i.e.our old) features now they have their code base re-engineered? Apparently some old features might not make it - see And vote! How can they consider not sharing notes by email!! (I'd love to know what other features they're still thinking about too....)
  3. Hi. As I currently understand it, Evernote have allowed for offline working by v10 downloading its own database and associated indexes. It's only meant as 'temporary' storage however - the main copy of your notes is online, and 'backup' means downloading a notebook to an ENEX file. Depending on the size of your database this might be something you could comfortably do each night (if necessary) to ensure you have a local backup. Alternatively the legacy version seems likely to be around for a year or two...
  4. I can already complicate the list a little - judging from one post today, the legacy install actually adds BOTH v10 and v6.25 in one go. V10 will go on and download its database in the background (over some days if it's a big database) - don't know whether you can get away with keeping your existing 6.25 database, or whether that will get nuked by v10.
  5. Welcome to the club. We should get a t-shirt (or as it's Winter, maybe a hoody)
  6. Sadly, no. Evernote have a pretty spotty history of release notes at the best of times, but this one has no 'official' documentation other than the blog post.
  7. Hi. I'd suggested raising this with Support - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  8. Hi. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest (re)installing the legacy version and using that where v10 isn't yet ready. Install an older version of Evernote
  9. Evernote have specifically said they're not - though there is some offline storage of notes to allow for editing and searches when not connected.
  10. Hi. We're a -mainly- user-driven forum. If you want a direct answer you're better off dealing with the support team - although they may take a while to respond at the moment...
  11. I have a sneaking suspicion that they might already be a leetle busy ducking the volume of complaints, questions and bugs being thrown their way!
  12. Since there's no local storage in v10 it apparently isn't set up to generate a link that could be opened in the legacy app. You're going to have to continue the legacy version for that...
  13. If I ever leave Evernote (and they're sorely testing my patience at the moment...) I'd be hauling 52,000 notes behind me. I had one go at letting another app try to import the database when it was 'only' 40K notes which took weeks and failed horribly, so I think I'd just downgrade my account to Basic and make new notes elsewhere. Where I have notes in Evernote that I need to edit or keep close in the future, I'd export those notes and convert them on a case by case basis if and when they're needed...
  14. According to someone else in the Forums, it's already working. Try "take a note" or "take a note in Evernote"
  15. Hi. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest (re)installing the legacy version and using that where v10 isn't yet ready. Install an older version of Evernote
  16. Hi. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest (re)installing the legacy version and using that where v10 isn't yet ready. Install an older version of Evernote
  17. Hi. It's not clear how quickly Evernote will bring the usability of the new app back up to the standard of the old. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest (re)installing the legacy version and using that where v10 isn't yet ready. Install an older version of Evernote
  18. Basically yes, though users have been set up to believe this would be the 'wonder app' that would answer all our feature requests. What we got was a box with nice pictures on the outside that turns out to be a wooden toy missing a wheel. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest (re)installing the legacy version and using that where v10 isn't yet ready. Install an older version of EvernoteInstall an older version of Evernote
  19. I'm surprised no-one has suggested scripting yet - looking at you @DTLow - but I don't have his expertise, so can't help; I would suggest AHK or text expanders as an option. I use a browser based app too Text Blaze which can insert text or execute short actions.
  20. Evernote has never searched within the string, but adding a * will get you all variations starting with 'apple'
  21. As a work-around, if you have a note list open you can see the title there. Use the top list view and shrink the size to see more of the actual note...
  22. I think you have Google to thank for that - I did see that they were expanding the options a bit...
  23. Hi. Tried the new v10 yet? It launched this week. Warning: sync and backup your existing installation because it will be deleted by the new install.
