  1. What you mention are Tasks, not regular To-Do items. For these there is a nice checklist feature, like the one in the middle of your screenshot. Tasks are autonomous elements in a note, just like a table or an attachment. They can't be simply spaced as a piece of text can be through formatting.
  2. You find the location change in the app settings - unless you use a Store version. In this case a change of location is not available there. But you can change the location even then - just google for "Symlink" to learn how. You should keep your data on a local drive. Putting the data on a removable or network drive can cause problems. Avoid a turning disk drive - performance will be abysmal.
  3. @TimGoe Reading your post I doubt you even tried to access your existing notes before bluring out here. Not a good move ...
  4. Yes, the releases are on a fast track. Personally I think this IS in fact a bad sign - I sometimes doubt anybody even bothers to make some basic QA before the release is rushed out. There are often simple features broken, that any even rudimentary QA would likely catch and stop. I think this approach to let the users find out is a bad idea - even worse because the updates can't be stopped once the client updater has got hold of them. Your broken cmd-J (which is one of the most basic functions) is a good example of this neglect of quality to happen.
  5. My notes have thumbnails if they contain anything that can be thumbnailed, no problem there. It is just I can’t select which picture they show. If you get no thumbnails, it has nothing to do with this thread. Open another one to see if anybody has an idea about it
  6. You can only contact support a out it. There had been problems with this setting in the past - maybe that’s the reason why they removed it. Your case being on an extremely weak hardware was probably not tested before removing it.
  7. A web clip is an attachment that is titled as web clip. It can hold pictures, and text, but it is in itself no picture. It is most of the time used as a container to store a website clipped from the internet.
  8. There is always note window showing. Maybe that’s the reason.
  9. This is a user forum. If you want to open a ticket, do so. Nothing will happen by itself. It can be that it takes little for the search index to update. We had reports of in between 30 minutes and an hour. If the tags were added just now, it may be it is resolved when you read this.
  10. No, you can’t. And adding the same tag to all notes is plain pointless.
  11. The maximum width is restricted. You could only (with an effort) move part of the information you have wrapped into the title into tags or the note body. Search will still find it.
  12. What I sometimes do before initiate multi note operations: Take the client offline. I use an app TripMode on the Mac that does this job very easily by toggling a switch for the app. The operations run significantly faster without syncing. The syncing happens when I restore connectivity.
  13. It is quite obvious somebody decided the new UI is the way to go. Probably a nice PowerPoint presentation, y‘ know how it works. Now it is the best idea since canned milk, and will stay this way ‚til the next PowerPoint presentation … You can send your idea about it here Feedback about the new UI https://waz9zvkd1f2.typeform.com/newuifeedback
  14. Don‘t think so. The only cases I know when such shared-to-you orphaned notes and notebooks were removed, it happened by support.
  15. In your screen shot I see a lot of notebooks. Why do you say they are gone ? The use terms for Free has been changed, several months ago. You can have only one notebook if you want to use EN actively. You can have only 50 notes in total. Once you get beyond any of these limits, you can‘t add any more new notes. You can‘t move them either. You can access and edit all existing notes. In short, if you want to continue the use of EN, you will need a subscription. As a student you may qualify for the student subscription. Check for details here: https://evernote.com/unidays
  16. You are hijacking a thread that has been silent for 3 years now. It predates the actual client and is not relevant any more. Don‘t ! And you double posted. Don‘t again. See your other thread (the one you opened) for answers.
  17. The sign out likely happened because the app is unable to sync. Try to set the device to flight mode and open the app again. If this works, extract the notes any way (open one by one, select, copy, paste, sharing, whatever) to other apps that can hold the information. If the device is running Android 9 or above, the actual client can be installed. Open new notes there, and move the content back - manually, one by one. If the device can‘t run Android 9 or above, EN v10 can‘t be installed any more. Then it is Game Over for using EN on that device.
  18. Open the main account in the installed client, and every additional one in it‘s own browser window (web client). I wouldn‘t wait for any changes of the behavior of the installed client to run on one account at any time. Maybe they will come one day, but this day is likely rather far away.
  19. Officially the legacy client is not available any more. Filehippo.com is a reliable source for practically all older EN clients, up to the latest. Look up a matching version, install. It will usually find your existing notes, if it is the correct client. Since the location has been changed in the past, I don‘t know where they are located. You can try to find a folder named Evernote on your drive. Holding your notes it should have several GB of size. Before you install, make a copy of this folder, and rename it to avoid it being overwritten (like calling it Evernote.OLD).
  20. First I am not willing to accept your aggressive tone here. We are other users, trying to help. Tone it down to civilized, or I am out. Nobody of us knows what will be after the 23rd of March. You are invited to try and find out. If your client stopped syncing 2 months back, these notes are at risk. Everything on the server can be opened by v10 at any time. The export of legacy allows to export „All“. Which, as you clearly says, will not keep the information in which notebook the note was. There is a backup project on GitHub - but it will export from the server. Unsynced notes will not be saved. To use the client you need to have it logged in before the 23rd of March, and keep it logged in, but (sounds like a contradiction) cut from internet access. Open, log in, now quit it - NEVER again log out. Use the Mac firewall (or a 3rd party solution) to cut the EN client from the internet access. You will continue to use it in eternal offline mode then. You can open it, close it, restart the Mac, whatever, just never log out. I regard this as academic, because key functions are lost in this use, but who wants it can get it. From v10 you have the same working export option as from legacy: Export any notebook, any size.
  21. The selection box @gazumped clipped will show when you click on Submit Ticket. It will show 3 options, and can be scrolled down to Technical Issues.
  22. @Mike P The hijack posts have been removed from the thread.
  23. This is in fact no long lasting issue, because picking the thumbnail was never offered as a feature. The workaround you mention stopped working when v10 was released. There are several older threads about it - you can find them in forum search, or way up in this thread. You can send feedback to ask for it again. Explain why it would be helpful for your use of EN.
