  1. Nobody here to fix anything, this is a user forum. Let us start with what you mean by „old“ and „new“: Version numbers, please.
  2. Your answers get boring - you repeat yourself. It is as it is, and the problem was caused by the OS developer. Maybe you have heard something about the fact that an OS can control any function of an app, but the app can’t control functions the OS reserves for itself. The app provides for screen clipping in Win10 (and on all MacOS versions) - the ball is with Microsoft who broke it for Win11.
  3. The calculation is even worse: Let us assume the cost of carrying any account has a base price. Let us assume it is 1€/month. This means that for each low cost plan the profit would be for example 3€, for each fully paid 9€. For each paying user moving to the budget alternative, they would need to win 3 new budget plan users, just to make up. Further the main conversion would be from Free to budget - which means they would need triple the conversion of without, just to break even. No, a budget plan simply doesn't compute.
  4. Local storage can be a blessing or a curse. Catch a ransomware, and you know for sure.
  5. EN does only connect to Google and Outlook Calendar.
  6. I would always perform a restart after using the Uninstaller, both on Windows and on MacOS. Somewhere I have read that on PCs there is even a difference between a Restart, and a Shutdown followed by a manual Restart, the later being more profound. But I wouldn’t call myself a Windows expert.
  7. If I recall it, we had year long threads here about how to force EN to show a certain thumb nail. We had exotic rules like the longest of the short edges, first added was frozen, pictures get priority over pdfs, etc. We had a jolly time jumping on every explanation - and seeing the hope vanish into the mist of the server enigma time over time. We ended up with the conclusion there is no rule that works all of the time, with every note, in any combination. That a picture added first will be thumbnailed and the thumbnail frozen into the note is one of these stories that are good, but not reliably so: Sometimes content added later resulted in a change of the thumbnail. And often it didn’t …
  8. So, to dig a little deeper into this: There is one notebook you have and want to share, there are several recipients on the list, they receive the invite to their email address and then try to open it in a browser session. Does it fail with only one of these recipients, with several or with all of them ? Did you already try in a case where it failed in the browser to install the EN client, create an account and use the app to access the share ?
  9. „Most cases“ only leads to endless posts in this forum (and likely support tickets) along the lines of first „this must be a bug“ and then second „why me“. This especially when the delay is ill defined - it may be working with a simpler if larger pdf in one go, and fail with a more complex but smaller in the next execution. And nobody can reproduce why sometimes it seems to work, and the next time fails. Applying 80/20 is in general a good thing, but horrible with algorithm execution.
  10. I doubt there is any chance. This thread is nearly dead, the timeline shows single postings every 2-4 years. You can send your proposal at this mail address. Explain why you want it, and which advantage it could create. feedback@evernote.com
  11. Just as a reminder: This is a user forum - I doubt only a tiny fraction will have any interest in these findings. If you feel there is something broken with the API, you should convince support to provide it to the EN devs.
  12. What I do: Check in the Task Manager / Activity Monitor (Mac) if there is still network traffic by any of the EN processes while the app is open and idle. While there is, it is likely that it is not yet do e downloading. A download indicator would better. But that’s only available on the mobile client
  13. Actually a minimal delay wouldn’t do the job in all cases. Since it first scans and then runs the integrated OCR software, the necessary delay would be several seconds. And it would still not have a good file name, which means a bad note title as well. I found the solution to make it a 3 step process (scan-define file-Save) better and more efficient.
  14. No. It is the new UI, getting mixed comments here. It is now all white or all black.
  15. You can’t. On iOS there is NO web clipper. Web clipper is a browser extension. What they use is the iOS sharing process. It can’t create new tags.
  16. Encrypted text is only allowed without formatting. There are a few formatting options excepted, but as a rule of thumb only plain text is allowed. If you have encrypted formatted text, remove the encryption, remove the formatting and encrypt the plain text again.
  17. While you search, your shortcuts are useless. You can’t use the shortcuts and search at the same time. Saved searches will shows the bottom of the search box. If you have saved searches as shortcuts, you can use them any time before the search box is opened.
  18. The search is only executed when you hit Enter after typing your search term. The lists that show while you type are only proposals, no search results.
  19. @Feitz Just replicated your steps. Weird, and leaves only the question: Why do others get all the action and fun ? Because it worked for me, doing exactly what I expected: A note was created, more was added, something else was added - 🥱 - and again, same result ... So sorry, can't replicate your observation, and frankly I didn't expect it, from my user experience. Differences (maybe, and probably not relevant): I am on Macs, and I have mature, fully downloaded databases.
  20. Just tried, working for me. From the web I found this (among plenty of others) with some advise on dealing with 404 errors. https://www.lifewire.com/404-not-found-error-explained-2622936 Among them was the hint to clear the browser cache.
  21. Guys, if you all didn’t make it for your first Ferrari, you are just seeing the blueprint how it can be done 🤣
  22. That‘s what I thought when I read your posting again. Let me share my experience with my Fujitsu ScanSnap: When I scanned into the Import Folder, I got several notes created, all with a damaged pdf. Only the last note contained a valid pdf, that was readable. The problem was that the scanner builds the file while it scans. But it already appears in the folder. The Import Folder can‘t know the file is not ready yet. So it tries to import, and either fails or ends up with a corrupted, premature file. Conclusion: Don’t use an import folder as the direct target of scanning. What I do now is this: The Scanner scans into another folder, and opens the file in the Scanner software. There it runs the OCR and saves the pdf as an OCRed pdf. I check the document (for example removing empty pages, rotate those pointing in a wrong direction etc.), and then give it a „good“ file name. Since the file name will become the notes title this saves me later rework. And the I save from there into the Import folder. Works like a charm.
