  1. Since I have my own language settings, I can’t try.
  2. I still have it - maybe because I have no calendar connected. Apple calendar is still missing.
  3. Don't know which websites have fonts that large. My web clips have similar font sizes as the notes do: Main Headers will be roughly 25pts, clipped text will show in 15pts. You never paid for any app. All EN apps are free to download and use. You paid for a cloud service when you subscribed. The services you got as a subscriber were controlled on the server, there was never a specific app just for subscribers. The service is running the v10 clients as official front end since September/October 2020. It was your personal decision not to use it, but to employ a deprecated, unsupported old client instead. Whenever you renewed your subscription since then (which probably was several times), you subscribed with the knowledge that the only client officially in use was v10. There are solid reasons to cut all old clients from accessing the server now. You can get the new client free of charge, for all your devices on all supported platforms. Download, install, log in, enjoy.
  4. Could it be we have different versions of the same program ? You got the slow code, I got the fast version ? 1) OP is asking for scrolling in a note with 2.500 words. Your answer is that scrolling with the left hand side bar would be slow. Find the mistake (the scroll bar for the note text is to the right, if it is that what you tried to express). 2) Just created a note with nearly 8.000 words. Scrolling is very fast, both inside of the text and using the scroll bars. The platform is nothing fancy, a pretty basic Mac mini M1. 3) That notes need a few seconds to load is a sign they had to be converted from legacy data to v10 data. If notes are opened switching old and new clients, it gets worse: The conversion needs to be done every time. We advise against using legacy and v10 clients on the same account for that reason. 4) After installing v10 for the first time, the local database needs to be build. While the data is not fully downloaded yet, it is practically a browser version that needs to draw content from the server. Keep the client running in the background for several days (depending on data volume, internet connection, sort of PC etc.). It will continue downloading and arranging the local database.
  5. v10 will install into it's own path, it does not use any resources employed by legacy. It is up to you to decide to purge legacy first, and then install v10, or install v10 right on top of legacy. Usually v10 will remove the legacy version. If you decide to keep a legacy copy, it will double the space needed for your local database copy. v10 will download it all again.
  6. The system requirements for v10 are clear (and have been improved a notch for Android users recently): Android 9, iOS 13, Windows 10, MacOS 10.14. This recipe displaying tablet is running an Android version more than 7 years old. Ask the maker if it can be updated. If you can bring it to Android 9, you can load EN v10 to it. We run an iPad Air2 for the same purpose - it is vintage 2014, but it runs iOS 15, released just 2 years ago. v10 is not fast on it, but it is running. The EXB file is of no use for v10. It has an outdated data structure that v10 can't use. If you want to keep it, just duplicate it before you install v10. Give 1 copy a different name. It will be of no use, but if you have nostalgic reasons, just store it. From the logic of upgrading a client, you install v10, and it will replace legacy. You can run an installer for legacy after you got v10 installed, and install it again. IMHO a lot of work for 12 days left. Currently the server holds 2 versions of the same data: A v10 version, a legacy (server) version. After they stop syncing, the legacy version will probably be discarded, to free up server space and make operations easier. At the moment the server needs to convert between the data structures. This puts a stress on the server operation, and can lead to problems. Most visible is a delay when opening legacy notes for the first time under v10. This will be over once legacy is gone. We advise against using any legacy client together with v10 since the new RTE syncing was launched last May. That's more or less what will happen in the engine room in a few days.
  7. When you interrupt the block of text by entering a new line in between, it will not be seen as a continuous list any more. I am not aware of a workaround.
  8. When editing with external apps one must be careful. It is basically saving real time to the drive, followed by a cloud sync. If the writing back into EN is delayed, it may not properly sync, which can lead to a corrupted file. There is a lot of interaction going on in the background.
  9. Sure, you can select it. But it is not yet the full search result. So it will not show everything a search will show. If it is good enough, just pick the proposal. If you want the full picture, hit Enter instead.
  10. That it can’t be turned off currently has been explained. 2 workarounds could be: A Slash followed by a space is not treated as a command any more. A Slash followed by a backspace reverts to the / character itself, and you can continue typing.
  11. No, I don’t have this problem. To start with, which clients do you use, on which platform ?
  12. I understand you opened the pdf using Adobe Acrobat to edit it - this means outside of EN ? What can happen is when you close the file in the external app and return to EN, the changes have not yet synced properly. Further actions in EN can lead to a file corruption (which could happen as well on the OS level if you use a cloud service and sync to it). I would say that most likely the latest working copy you find in note history is the last not compromised version of that file. Better recreate the edits than try to recover the file somehow. For the future I would think about this pdf editing method. PDFs were not created with editing in mind. They were output files, freezing the result of an editing session in other apps. Either use a real word processor, or type your edits directly into a note.
  13. The generous Free plan was clearly the issue of a corporate strategy that has put growth in user numbers above profitability. It was the decade of cheap money, where missing revenue was compensated by fresh investors funds. It was no accident. The Free plan was designed to keep people with little demand on features onboarded. I don’t know the conversion rate to paid, but I assume it was dreadful. It was no accident either that it failed. EN management didn’t take the necessary decisions when interest rates went up, and investors money dried up. Personally I think the current free plan is still too soft on archived agglomerations of data. But I think we will see this tackled in the not too far future. For the rest, the subscription model creates a pretty stable stream of income. For me as user nothing has changed. I know what I get, I know what I need. As long as value and price is in an acceptable range, I better watch for matters of more urgent attention.
  14. Legacy had the same option, somewhere in settings. All „last release“ clients are the same code as before - they just have a lock to prevent them from updating automatically to v10. But moving it around on the local drive will do nothing from stopping it to sync. 12 days, counting…
  15. v10 IS a new app - it has the advantage it links to the same server database. It does not try to sell itself as a legacy clone.
  16. It is a fact the mobile versions didn’t support nested tags. This prevented me from using the feature in former times. There are other examples where the clients did not do the same, or had different feature sets. The code base was impossible to maintain, developing a feature meant coding it 4-5 times. Over the years this ruined the market position for a lack of consistency and new features..
  17. You may call this „survivor’s bias“. Given the fact that more than 90% of all users (I think the real figure was beyond 95%) were on Free, it is not necessarily a bad message that most have left. These are the „customers“ I wish to be with my competition. For the paying customers things get sorted out: Those who stay know why. Either they tried another service and came back, or learned from discussions like the one we have here that it doesn’t look like a good idea to invest time and effort into switching.
  18. From my experience it depends on the number of tags: There is more space to show multiple tags at the bottom. Who uses only few tags may not notice. And for those who don’t use tags it has no importance at all.
  19. Just a hint for uninstalling: Log out first, the quit and uninstall. Dump all data if asked. Now make a forced restart of the iOS device. If you don’t know how, check the iOS handbook (or google for it). After the new start, install, open, log in. Now keep the app for some minutes in the foreground, to allow it to download notes and metadata.
  20. There are sufficient ways to do everything. And the basics have not changed at all: Each note needs to be in a (1) notebook at any time. There can be multiple tags applied. What has changed is that the basics now work seamlessly on all clients: Nested tags work on all clients, including mobile. One can easily include or exclude child tags from searches, etc. All this never worked seamlessly on legacy - it was an agglomeration of islands, and what worked on one client didn’t work necessarily on another.
  21. Nobody has the exact same problem. To start with there are probably 15 release cycles between the initial posting in this thread, and your claim to have the same problem. I doubt you run a client from half a year ago. Please post your device, OS, EN client and maybe a picture of what you see. Was this directly after switching to a new device as well ?
  22. Can't reproduce this. OK, I'm on a Mac, but I think the Windows client should do similar. There are several options to open a picture. From your screenshot you have used the "Show in Preview" mode, which shows the arrows left and right to scroll between pictures.: This is from a series of pictures in a single note, opens as preview, not zoomed. Note the different Zoom levels showing in the top area of the pictures. It resizes itself nicely, either to the height or to the width of the picture, to fit into the window in which it was opened. For smaller pictures it does not go beyond 100%.
  23. As I understand, you want to go from annual to monthly. You need to cancel your subscription first. Let it expire. Your account will drop to free - no data is lost. Now subscribe again, using the monthly option.
  24. Can you explain why this would be useful ? We don’t pay for storage, only the upload is counted. When a note appears in the list (and could be sorted), the upload has already happened. The classical „I want to reduce storage size“ doesn’t really apply.
