  1. You can obviously select all the notes and then do a bulk duplicate of those. The only real solution I can think of is to export the notebook and then reimport. I've tried it on a small notebook and it seems to work OK.Make sure you use the file -> import method of importing or you may end up with copies of the notes in the original notebook.
  2. I agree that the tag hierarchy view in the sidebar needs some work. I liked that Legacy remembered the previous view when you logged back in and that would be a nice option. I would also like an option to completely close the hirarchy (without shutting down EN). At the moment closing a level does not close the sublevels. So when you open it up again the sublevels are already open. I don't think this is a bug and therefore this post would probably be better in one of the feature request forums so we can upvote it
  3. This is a well established bug and I'm very surprised you were unable to find any reference to it on the forums. Here's an example with a solution:
  4. THe shortcut for simplified article is C. There is a complete list of shortcuts if you go to the gear icon and then open the shortcuts tab.
  5. And don't forget that if you don't see "troubleshooting" as an option try ctrl+clicking Help rather than just simply clicking.
  6. There does still seem to be quite a few different glitches effecting only very specific image types. With png it may be something like whether the image contains an alpha channel or not. Hopefully they will all get sorted in time.
  7. Still seems to work for me on Windows (so not directly applicable). Do other attachments work OK (e.g spreadsheet)? Do other image file formats work? Image saving can be tricky as software likes to save it in it's own proprietary file format, but that would always have been an issue. Having said that I had to use "export" rather than "save" in GIMP inorder to keep it as a jpg file and it worked fine.
  8. You can access the command from the blue + menu on the toolbar to double check whether it is a shortcut issue.
  9. My experience is that the backlink does disappear eventually. Because it is a server driven system you have to wait. Certainly closing down EN and reopening it seemed to do the trick but I expect that if I'd waited it would eventually have gone.
  10. The introduction of backlinks started me thinking about links in general. We can filter or search (using contains:) for notes containing a whole range of different things. However we cannot search for notes containing links. This would seem a logical thing to include and would help me quickly find notes which linked to other notes. The only workaround I can think of would be to edit the note link text and add some special character sequence which could be searched for. You can't search for the underlying evernote:/// url. If anybody can think of another way I would be happy to hear it
  11. Just don't put a table at the top of your note as the list of backlinks goes behind the table! Seems ok with text. I'm raising a support ticket although it would be nice to know if anybody else can preproduce it.
  12. Just a slight update. #2 from @Boot17's excellent original list can be done by right clicking the note in shortcuts.
  13. Select all the tasks - easier said than done but it is possible. Sometimes adding some dummy text at the beginning and end of the list and selecting that as well works better. Copy (ctrl+C) Paste into a text editor (or a code block in an EN note). That way only the text of the task is preserved. Select and copy again Paste into a new note Select all the text again and turn it into a check list by clicking the check list icon (or ctrl+shift+C)
  14. You don't say how you are doing the import and as you will see, that is important. As @gazumpedpoints out the normal behaviour is for EN to add each note to it's own notebook - bizarre behaviour in my opinion! If you just double click the enex file it will be added to your default notebook. That seems more consistent with how new notes are generally handled unless you are already in a specific notebook. This what you want. Open a notebook and drag the enex file into the note list. The note is added to the notebook. Remember it will keep it's original date so depending on how you sort your notebook it may not be at the top. If you drag multiple notes they will be added to the notebook (as separate notes).
  15. Not my experience. I can ctrl+click multiple notes (not necessarily a continuous block) and scroll down and then add some more. @gazumpedhas described how you can select a continuous block of notes by clicking the first and shift+clicking the last, but I don't think that is what you want to do. I would check you are on the most up to date version and then if that doesn't solve it I would do the standard refreshing of the database by signing out and choosing "remove my Evernote data from this device". Log back in and the data will download (it may take a while) and hopefully that will solve it.
  16. I agree. I don't personally, by default, want to only search within the current notebook. My work around, on the Windows desktop so not relevant to the web, is alt+ctrl+2 to go to "notes" followed by alt+ctrl+F to open the search. Because you are in all notes, rather than in a particular notebook, you are automatically searching "everywhere".
  17. If you can select the task then in principle you should be able to copy it and use the alt+ctrl+V shortcut (Windows) keyboard shortcut to automatically create a new note from the clipboard content. Alt+Ctrl+V is not warking well for me at the moment (open support ticket) so I'm getting inconsistent results. Also selecting a task in order to copy it, is not always straightforward. Worth a try but no guarantee that it will work.
  18. Really? If you hover over over or right click a link in the Windows desktop version of EN there is no option to copy that link. The only way of copying a link is to manually copy and paste. You can do that directly by selecting the link text and copying it or if you want the link without the accompanying text (if there is any) you can do it through the link edit menu (see my post above 12 Aug 2021).
  19. You can do this already, but not necessarily in the way you would think as most intuitive. If you filter all notes by the stack using the filter menu you get the reminders tab. You don't get the reminders tab if you just select the stack, for example from the side bar. This would be a useful and logical addition
  20. You can't change the colours of notebooks but you can add coloured emoji icons to the title:
  21. I like this idea. Just to note you can do parts of it already by highlighting the text and using alt+ctrl+V to create a new note from it. It creates the new note in the default notebook and obviously doesn't do the internal linking which would be a definite game changer.
  22. I was so excited by the reintroduction of the option to define the default view of a pdf attachment. Sadly this is not as universal as I had thought. There are numerous ways of adding a pdf to a note - many of which ignore the defined preference. Here's a selection: Drag pdf into the note - respects preference Add attachement using the blue + on the toolbar - respects preference Use "send to" from a pdf file in windows explorer - ignores preference Add pdf using webclipper - ignores preference Using import folder - populates the snippet including the thumbnail and the title but doesn't display the pdf in the note al all! The size of the note in note info suggests it is there so maybe it will show itself at some stage. It is not visible on the web version either UPDATE - the only way I have found so far of forcing the pdf to show itself is exporting the note and then reimporting it.
  23. I don't believe so. I don't think that EN believe you should do your own backup as they have it covered! You can get something close to what you want by filtering to select all those notes updated in the last 7 days. You can then export them, provided there are no more than 100. If there are more than 100, you would need to do it in batches. You can't remove deleted notes from your backup in this way.
  24. But you loose resolution so it is at best a workaround which is slightly faster than downloading the full resolution image and incorporating it into Word.
