  1. I'm certainly not having that problem. You could try the web version to check that it works there. If it does, it might be a local database problem so you will need to refresh the local database: Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out. Restart your computer (probably not really necessary). Sign back in to Evernote
  2. By the way it highlights and copies just fine on my PC 10.46.7-win-ddl-public (3701) Editor: v158.2.19526 Service: v1.58.7 © 2019 - 2022 Evernote Corporation. All rights reserved pdf downloaded from https://we.riseup.net/assets/533560/Zuboff%2C+Shoshana.The+Age+of+Surveillance+Capitalism.2019.pdf
  3. @ThoraHave you double clicked the pdf or used open as we have suggested to open the pdf in a different application. eg Adobe reader? If you have then can you confirm that you can select text within that app. If you can't then, as @gazumpedhas suggested thenmaybe your pdf contains scanned images and no actual text.
  4. For me I just highlight the text, press ctrl+C to copy and then ctrl+V to paste it. If this isn't working for you, why don't you just open the pdf in the default pdf viewer on your system by double clicking it. Then if that still doesn't work you will have a whole lot of other people to shout at.
  5. It might be worth looking at the web version of EN to see if that is the same. If the web version looks OK it might be a local database issue in which case logging out, selecting the option to not keep a copy of your notes and then relogging back in could possible solve it.
  6. I basically do the same. If you start your headings with some special sequence of characters (e.g $$ or an emoji symbol) you can then quickly cycle through the headings using a ctrl+F search for the character sequence. I do agree with @agsteele. EN works best with shorter notes linked together with a ToC. This also allows you to employ much more detailed tagging which again helps you find what you want.
  7. I think we are talking about different things. My workaround was for filtering notes by stack. That post was some time ago and you can now filter by stack in the main filter menu. This thread is about filtering tasks by stacks. You can't do that, and there is no workaround that I know of.
  8. Because EN highlights the text when it auto creates the title all you need to do is type, which is what you would have done anyway. True. You need to be at the beginning of the note which is easily achieved with ctrl+Home I would, of course, be more than happy for EN to provide an option to start in the title area. I'm just trying to demonstrate that in the mean time it is relatively easy, using only the keyboard, to get to the title and change it.
  9. If you had read this thread you would see that shift+tab takes you directly into the title - no mouse or trackpad needed. If there is already taxt in the main part of the note EN will create the title based on this. It creates the title highlighted so you can immediately start typing your own title if you want to or you can simply tab to take you back into the main body of the note.
  10. Clipper will not clip local html files. In my experience once I have it displayed in Chrome a simple select all and copy followed by pasting into a new note (or alt+ctrl+V) works well. However in my case the images are also local.
  11. Provided you use check boxes (not a checklist) you can have multiple checkboxes in a row. I think this would give you what you want. Note the period at the beginning of each line to prevent EN converting your checkbox into a checklist.
  12. In v10 the global (works even when you do not have the focus on EN) keyboard shortcut alt+ctrl+V seems to be very close to what you want.
  13. It's not what you are asking for but it is worth remembering that if you delete the title of a note, EN will treat it the same as a new note with no title. Therefore clicking into the title area will populate the title with the first line.
  14. There are 58 templates listed on the website but 76 available in the gallery accessed from "open gallery" in a new note.
  15. You haven't said what version or what platform you are using. In V10, web and desktop, when you create a new note there is an option to "open gallery". That's all I did.
  16. I wasn't aware that you could search for words within a picture using ctrl+F in the legacy version. You can search for words within a picture in both V10 and legacy using the normal search feature (alt+ctrl+F). This facility is not available on the free plan.
  17. There are two relatively new templates which may be what you are looking for. I just searched for "moon" in the search box of the template library..
  18. This is a very old thread and the ability to show/hide recent notes has been in V10 for ages.
  19. In the mean time. If you got to "Notes" and sort by "date updated" you get a list of all your notes in the order they appear in "recent notes". Unfortunately, if you don't routinely organise "Notes" in this order, there is no keyboard shortcut. The order specified for "Notes" can be different from the order specified for notebooks.
  20. I don't know but for consistency with the web client and ctrl+Q there should be.
  21. There are certain times when the note list is designed to disappear! I think this is a bad decsion. Some examples of when the note list disappears: Going to a shortcut which is just a note clicking a note in "recent notes" clicking on a note suggestion which comes up in search below the search bar Using ctrl+Q (Windows) to go to a particular note
  22. I can reproduce this behaviour. The ctrl+Q menu seems to work as expected. You should raise a support ticket with th EN team. In the mean time you can of course always use the keyboard shortcut.
