  1. It's important to understand how the synchronisation process in EN works. This applies to everything not just shorcuts. The shortcuts on your main computer are uploaded to the EN web server. The web version gets the information directly from the server so is really the definitive version of what EN thinks are your shortcuts. If there is a mismatch between the web and your main computer then you have a problem. If another copy of EN comes on line (e.g. your infrequently used computer) it will synchronise with the server and should look the same as the web version. If you logged out of EN on your main computer and chose to remove your data when you logged back in you would get whatever you see on the web version. As for solutions this is tricky. Normally differences between local and server versions of the database are solved by deleting your local data and forcing EN to redownload. This is probably not what you want. As @gazumpedhas mentioned you may need the help of support. I would encourage you to check the web version (no bravery involved). As I said, it is the the closest to the definitive version of your data. I would experiment with making changes to shortcuts on a desktop version and making sure they are reflected in the web version and from there on to any other devices.
  2. I agree that was convenient. The functionaility still exists in the note information window but that is two extra clicks or one extra keyboard shortcut. Personally, I find selecting the tag and pressing the delete key is pretty good.
  3. I think this is a sensible suggestion. There are of course various ways of moving notes. You can already drag a note into a notebook shortcut in the sidebar as well as dragging notes into the normal notebooks in the sidebar. The concept of "recently selected notebooks" (as opposed to recent notes) doesn't yet exist in EN so might need a bit of work.
  4. I personaly keep shortcuts down to an absolute minimum, because they soon become unwieldy. Most of my saved searches never get to be shortcuts. The folder idea would be really good. I would also like saved searches to have a status similar to notebooks or tags with a window where you can see all the searches and organise them. The other missing feature, which has been mentioned on these forums recently, is the ability to link to a saved search from a note, like you can to another note. Thus a dashboard note could link to other notes, webpages and saved searches. See some useful discussion here:
  5. At the top of the sidebar in the web version there is a gear icon which opens a setting screen which is pretty much the same as the desktop version. This includes the ability to strikethrough or not completed check list items. Is this not working?
  6. I am also frustrated that you can't link to a saved search (which could just be a link to a notebook) from within a note. This has always been a limitation in EN, although there was a workaround in legacy using the EN scripting language. I also use dashboards and I sometimes include a code box containing the advanced search syntax for a particularly useful search. This can then be copy and pasted into the search box - with keyboard shortcuts (partucularly alt+ctrl+F) this is not as painful as it sounds! Don't forget you don't have to make saved searches shortcuts. If you name the saved searches by project, you should be able to scroll through and find what you want relatively quickly, as saved searches are listed alphabetically. I've felt for some time that V10 underplays the power of saved searches. Ideally I would like a proper saved search window (like tags and notebooks have) with the ability to organise them in some way. You can also include emojis in the title of a saved search which brings them near to the top of the list and makes them easy to spot.
  7. And as @Anonyme For Libertypoints out if one of the notes has no tags, no tags are dispayed as lozenges so you don't know which tags to search for.
  8. This works, and I certainly think the way that the Edit Tags window works when you have selected multiple notes is logical and consistent with the behaviour for a single note. However, if you have nested tags you only see the blue ticks and dashes for top level tags - this is the same for single notes. I'm not sure it was always like this and I seem to remember, in earlier versions of V10, the window opening with the hierarchy expanded to show all the selected tags. There is no indication which of the top level tags you need to open to find the ticked lower level tags. Of course if you can remember where the tag lives that will help but otherwise you need to search or if you just want to delete tags use the mouse and the cross on the grey tag lozenges.
  9. It's just so easy to do this from the tag area at the bottom of the note, without using the mouse at all, that personally I can't really get that worked up by the tags window.
  10. I hope you are right. My renewal is 2 June and I will certainly be checking before that for any signs that I am going to get a big increase in price
  11. It's also interesting to note that "Next billing date on May 11, 2023 for $99.99" is not the same as the actual prices shown for your current plan. My experience is the same. Presumably that number will be updated at some stage in the future (nearer the due date?) but it does look as though EN are being a little misleading about what we will pay at our next renewall dates.
  12. Having looked at it again I'm getting very inconsistent results. Sometimes the insertion point disappears, sometimes it stays after the last tag. I'm not sure, for me, that I can see a simple set of conditions that leads to one or the other. I agree that when the insertion point disappears none of the logical things seem bring it back. However, what I have discovered, is that I can bring it back by using the "open tag filter" keyboard shortcut again (Alt+F2) and this doesn't reset what I have already typed.
  13. That's not my experience. When I press enter to "validate the tag" my cursur remains in th terxt input box and I can easily then search for another tag. 10.53.2-win-ddl-public (3935) Editor: v165.2.20482 Service: v1.65.0 © 2019 - 2023 Evernote Corporation. All rights reserved
  14. Please look again at the screen shot he provided which clearly says
  15. I'd be interested in your evidence for this.
  16. I don't know whether this would help you but you can do this using the web version. Just go to the notebook or click the tag and copy the url from the web browser. There might even be a way to hack that link in some way so that it opens the desktop version ( I think you used to be able to do that in legacy)
  17. That's not how it has been designed, or how I would personally want it. However there is no reason, with a bit of extra work, why you can't operate the system in that way. It helps if your default is to start a new note in the body of the note but it is not essential Create a new note type in the name of the task in the body of the note click into the title area (or F2) to automatically add the text to the title select the text in the body of the note (down arrow to move back to the body of the note followed by ctrl+A) Press alt+T to convert the text into a task
  18. I have to say I am very confused by this whole thread, and others like it. Evernote is unusual in having a system tray icon. Normal behaviour in Windows is for the X to close the program. If we have not finished with the app yet, we minimise it. Yet for some reason people want to constantly close EN (which doesn't actually close it but leaves it running in the background, consuming just as many system resources) and then expect the tray icon to open the program in the same way as clicking on a minimised icon does. So why treat EN differently? Just minimise it, as you would every other windows program, and then you have the standard Windows one click solution to maximise it again.
  19. The / in the name of the tag worries me slightly - it's not a character I would use in a tag although a quick try didn't cause any problems even with search syntax. You could perhaps try renaming it (e.g read_review) and changing the advanced search syntax string, or puting the tag in quotation marks. Unfortunately, as search generally happens on the server now, EN are able to tweak how search works quite easily and I've certainly seen examples of saved searches no longer working. Fortunately rebuilding the search normally solves the problem, even when it is not obvious why!
  20. It appears when your saved search includes a tag that no longer exists although in my case it normally says invalid tag. If you rename the tag the saved search will be able to cope with this, unless you have used the tag:tag_name (advanced search syntax) method of selecting the tag.
  21. It's important to understand how tasks work in EN. Tasks do not exist as separate entities, they only exist in notes. The task views simply extract all the tasks from the notes to give you an overview of all the different tasks in all the different notes. This makes it really easy to integrate notes with tasks associated with that note - say a note from a meeting with the actions that came out of the meeting. If you add a task from the task window it is added to the default task note. You don't say how you are using tasks. If all you want is a simple task list then it can be in a single note (your default note for tasks). If you open that note directly you can drag and drop the tasks into whatever order you want. I doubt that manual sorting of the task list in tasks is going to be a priority or even practical - after all we can't even do that for notes.
  22. I agree that used to be case. But in 10.53.2 if I delete the image corresponding to the thumbnail, the thumbnail changes to be one of the other images in the note. If I delete all but one of the images the thumbnail changes to be the one remaining image. If I delete all the images then the thumbnail disappears all together and I can then add any image that I want as thumbnail. These changes do not take place instantaneously so there is obviously some back and forth to the server making it happen.
  23. I can cofirm this. Clicking either the EN webclipper icon in the toobar or the one that appears next to the text of the document has no response. Messing about a bit (just refreshing the page and inspecting the page) led to the option of clipping the pdf reappearing on right click but when I did so I got Web clipper Version: 7.30.2.454-36a06c7 on Chrome Version 110.0.5481.178 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  24. Like @PinkElephantI have no problem searching for numbers. The standard advice if you have problems with search is Try it on the web version. As there is no local database, there is less to go wrong! Rebuild your local database by logging out and choosing "Remove my EN data from this device". When you sign back in the database is then rebuilt which seems rto solve a multitude of search problems.
  25. The shortcut is changeable in the keyboard shortcut menu so you could change it to something that does work there.
