  1. The forum is user 2 user. If you want to report a bug, contact support. Creating attachments in tables or bulleted and indented text is available in v10. How complex formats will be converted is anybodies guess.
  2. EN does run on devices with Android 9. If it is worth to try any of these "solutions" on devices 6 years old and older is anybodies guess.
  3. You need to export the notes to an ENEX file, and import them into the one notebook you want to keep. Then trash the notebook you want to get rid of. Hint: EN Free is a trial, not intended for sustained use. You a try to do it, but you will run into trouble (and a lot of nagging) on the way. If you just want a free note taking app, go watching and prepare to leave.
  4. Do you have the desktop client installed ? Open settings, application, scroll down to find the path to the database location. Check it in Explorer/Finder - the folder size is roughly the size of your database. It needs to be fully downloaded first, so if you just installed let the client run for a while to download all content.
  5. Every user can only tell how it works for himself - we can’t watch it elsewhere. For me it works lightning quick and rock solid on 3 Macs plus a number of iOS devices, thanks for asking. If your experience is different, there is some advise (I will stick to the desktop clients here): First it will be slow until everything is downloaded. After the first install (or any full reinstall) keep the app running in the background for several days. It needs time to download all, and build the local database. When coming from legacy and opening a note the very first time, conversion of the data formats will date a few seconds. If you work switching between v10 and legacy, this will happen every time you open the note again in v10. That’s one reason why using both in parallel is not recommended any more. Operations on multiple notes can be slower. They will run syncing to the server. To speed them up, it can help to take the computer briefly offline, and then perform the multi note operations. I use this only when housekeeping my account. If performance is down across the board on one client, usually the database holds a corruption. Other signs for it are problems in exporting or a constantly high CPU usage. In such a case a complete uninstall using Revo Uninstaller / AppCleaner (PC/Mac) will usually do the job. Never run EN with the local database on a turning disk drive. Use a SSD. Thats my collected experience with v10 on speed issues. Updates from this year have significantly improved the speed.
  6. What usually works pretty well is to use the „Print Recipe“ option most sites offer. You skip most of the storytelling, and get the plain ingredients and prep instructions. Most of the time it will save nicely as PDF.
  7. No clever move … First each update usually carries some bug fixing as well (and sometimes new bugs, but that’s another issue). Second it is not guaranteed that all v10-versions will continue working ad infinitum. Currently the limit is somewhere at v10.5x. This means you can really break things by not updating. Third if you ever need support (ok, this is another special chapter …) first thing they do before helping you at all is to ask you to update everything.
  8. Or if you do - wait until you will leave the office within the next 5 minutes.
  9. From reports about individual breaches (bad, reused passwords) we know what is usually searched after an account is cracked: Crypo currency data, either wallets or seed keys. It should be a no brainer that this type of information should not be stored in ANY cloud service. The same with passwords, these belong into a dedicated password manager (or into that little book in your drawer). What was not searched (if we read those reports) was any other kind of information: Bank slips, tax declarations, income statements etc. They are of no use for the hackers. How to protect accounts ? Good, unique passwords plus 2FA enabled. And a healthy 2nd look at anything urging me to go to a website I don’t open myself, asking to enter my data there.
  10. Empty the trash. Notes in the trash count into the limit. Avoid to have more than 1 notebook. If you have more, it locks new note creation as well.
  11. Web Clips are a static download. They are stored as they were when clipped. The only connection to the original website is the URL saved in the note. You can visit the site again - which will show the current site. But this doesn’t change the clipped copy. Example: A page is clipped when it showed freely. Later it is moved behind a paywall. The clip will still show as it was - the URL will be redirected to a login page.
  12. All Stores do a check against malware, and notarize the software to allow downloads and installation without admin privileges. This takes a little time. The AppStore in fact is rather fast. I can compare it to the PlayStore, and they are really slow, up to a week behind the AppStore. BTW the build in updater of the app is no better - it still offered me 10.79 as „current“. For other reasons I use the direct download - it has less friction with the OS in functions like sharing. That no notes were showing is most likely related to a typo in the user account. It has nothing to do with switching the client software.
  13. Personally I manage most subscriptions through my iTunes account. Better overview, easy to cancel. I understand why many devs are switching to the subscription model. If I watch at most apps on my devices, many of them were downloaded for a specific purpose. For example I once edited and sorted the tags of my music library. This was done easily by downloading an app, with a one time payment. Since then it sits on my device, and receives regular updates. The dev is forced to update, because the OS updates as well. But I won‘t pay again. It is obvious that this is not a model on which you can make a living. I expect that more and more switch over to subscriptions. The only method is to manage your software, and decide about what to use, where to subscribe and which apps to drop. It all boils down to „Know your use cases“, and choose what you really use.
  14. It is even worse on a Mac with German keyboard: Zoom-In is a key „=„ that can only be reached by pressing <shift>. This makes an often used keyboard shortcut a 3-keys-shortcut. No idea why Zoom-Out is the regular cmd-„-„, but Zoom-In does not use the cmd-„+“.
  15. You have been on a rebated plan if the raise is 90%. Be grateful while it lasted, you now see the regular price. If the value is OK, continue. If not, go watching. You find some threads discussing alternatives in this forum.
  16. The logic of the merge window is to let you arrange the sequence of the „chapters“ in the merged note. You can move the notes up and down to create a merged note with exactly the sequence you want to have - which is great if you for example use a merged note as an archive to several notes created during a project, semester, journaling etc. You want these usually in the order you like, not random or by the accidentals sequence of clicking them. If the sequence is OK, or you don‘t care, just confirm.
  17. There used to be a difference between paid and Free accounts in editing keyboard shortcuts. Between paid accounts they made no difference. No idea at the moment - as said 10.80 broke something, so no reliable test is possible right now. Editable were the global shortcuts, and some of the others. Most app specific shortcuts were not editable.
  18. Install the client on the new computer. Log into your account. See the notes appear after a few seconds. Let the EN client running, it can be in the background. It will probably take several days until all content is downloaded from the server, and the local database is complete. You can use EN while the download happens. Expect it to be slower, because during that time all notes need to be opened from the cloud server. This will work with all notebooks synced to the server. If you have local (unsynced) notebooks from a legacy install, you need to move them manually. If you used the current client (v10.xx), there are no local notebooks.
  19. Find the mistake: Opposite to your idea of avoiding confusion, this may have worked as a workaround to register the old mail address. But you see where you are: In the midst of confusion. Without knowing the details our payment accounts (those in the back office, where they process the subscriptions) seem to be linked with our userIDs. There deleting an account of data will likely NOT remove the account of payments. These need to be kept for years out of legal reasons. I would change the mail address of the new account to one that has not been used before. Or maybe because the muddle created is already quite deep create a new account from a new mail address. Or try to sort this out with support.
  20. You asked for emails and mentioned links. Now you tell your problem are only the links. I would use sentences that can be easily understood and are to the point when using this link to contact support: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
  21. This works: Dropping the Mail on the desktop creates an EML file. Dragging the file on top of the notes list opens a dialogue box to pick a notebook, and then creates a note holding the EML file. Double clicking this file opens the Email in an Apple Mail window. Personally I prefer to send emails to my account through mail. First it creates a note that is directly readable. Second I can add the notebook, tags and reminders right away. This reduces rework - I don't need to go to EN to add this information.
  22. As already posted, Shottr replaced Skitch within 5 minutes after I installed and tested it. It does everything, plus a lot more, with new code, a clean interface and optically impressive results. Just one example: The Blur tool lets me choose between options, for example to blur text only. Try this in Skitch: Killing outdated code is not disrespect - it is a sign to take on responsibility. Not maintained code is a disaster waiting to happen - especially in the case of Skitch that has its own access to the cloud storage.
  23. Usually the system prevents a new account being created with the same user as an existing one. Could be that this explains why you are stuck.
