I continue to see value in the Evernote product/service - both free and paid Users can continue to access the Evernote product/service without paying I suspect the conversion rate is low has to do with human nature All these users thinking why should I pay, when I can get it for free

As per @CalS, I've experienced data loss from the accidental deletion of notes No bad experiences with Evernote, but the weekly full export confirms there's an exit option when needed

I use a spreadsheet Each morning an applescript (Mac) exports my task note info and creates the chart

I'm guessing this would be the standard calendar grid: yearly/monthly/weekly/daily For task management, I use a gantt timeline view

Evernote uses an enml/html format for storing our note data There are various hidden characters which we don't see The Mac editor has a simplify/remove formatting option to remove these hidden characters. It may fix your issue

We never had a single .exb file on the Mac platform instead, we backed up the container folder A benefit of multi-file storage is that backups can be incremental; i.e just the updated data

The offline local copy continues to be a feature with Evernote Version 10

I understand the problem now It's a combination of: device limit (2), and revoking device access limit (twice monthly) edit: For Basic Accounts When accessing the account with a third device, Evernote updates the device list The account's device list now contains three entries In a separate step, Evernote checks the account's device list and blocks access unless a device is revoked The revoking can only be done two times a month

Login to your account and check the account settings/info Check the "Member Since" date

The usual cause is the accidental creation of a new account Make sure you log in with the correct userid/password
