  1. That's a different question than data backups I would use Evernote's export feature to move my data out of Evernote Using the .html format, I have access to my notes using any browser app Using the .enex format, many alternate apps can import my notes
  2. Another vote for Mac Time Machine; in Apple terms..."It just works" As a backup mechanism, it includes versioning; your database can be restored from a specific date An example is corrupted notes that go unnoticed for a few weeks Can your backup method restore an un-corrupted version of the note Evernote's Note History backup does versioning A flaw is that if the note is deleted, we have no method of accessing the backup versions
  3. Local database storage Try Windows C:/users/<youraccount>/appdata/roaming /evernote Mac /Users/<youraccount>/Library/Application Support/Evernote
  4. You can also pick monthly payments or an annual payment There's a discount for annual payment It looks like you picked annual payment
  5. The free account allows access on two devices The web counts as one device You can use the downloaded software on one other device Using the web, access the device list in your user settings You can revoke access to any unnecessary devices
  6. You are using the web platform, with the web client software The export feature is only supported on the Mac/Windows platforms, with the client software
  7. Please post a screenshot of what you see when right clicking This screenshot is from my Mac
  8. The Mac/Windows export feature offers two options; .enex format and .html format "notes, tags, dates and attached files" are included in the export file sets If the import is to an Evernote database, use the .enex format
  9. I'm using the Evernote Legacy product on a Mac with no issues The v10 product is a work-in-progress; I won't switch until I'm satisfied it's ready for general use
  10. The only way to access your account is with your account-id and password We're guessing our password was compromised outside of Evernote
  11. The Evernote product does not support Folder methodology Instead, Tag methodology is supported with two metadata fields; Notebooks and Tags imho Tag methodology is a superior method of organizing notes Tags support unlimited levels via parent-child hierarchy Some users emulate folders using the notebook/tag trees in the sidebar
  12. I'm a Devonthink fan, however it's import feature makes use of EN's export feature, functioning on the .enex format It also uses scripting which is not supported by EN's v10 product
  13. I don't see this as an accurate assumption Open Source products will have the same data transfer problems The important points for me are #1 Easy export of data #2 Non-proprietary formats and no restrictions on formats
  14. Just to be clear, someone used your account id and password to access your account You need to do a better job at keeping your password secure
  15. Are you referring to the feature called Sketch? I agree, it's not great for handwriting In general, I see the Evernote editor as a text based product Personally, I use the Procreate app for art work, and the Notability app for handwriting The documents can be stored in Evernote as note file attachments
  16. We don't get to see the "roadmap", but I've not seen anything that indicates Evernote is interested in implementing a text collapse feature >>Such a huge feature for being able to test my own knowledge using my notes in real time. An interesting use case I'd suggest using an external editor that supports this feature The document can be stored in Evernote as a note file attachment
  17. Confirmed; I'm using Applescript on a Mac with the Evernote Legacy product No info on "how long"; it's a concern for sometime in the future - today I have automation
  18. See https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005157-Compare-Evernote-subscription-plans Looks like an upgrade from Professional
  19. For me, Evernote Legacy is also required for Scripting; Applescript on a Mac
  20. Agreed, the record # limit is a serious deficiency Agreed, the missing notebook assignment in the export is a serious deficiency I'm still using the Evernote Legacy product, and my data backups include a weekly export of notes (20,000+) This is scripted to run automatically The v10 product lacks scripting features; another serious deficiency Personally, I have minimal stacks/notebooks; basically a single filing cabinet notebook Evernote's primary organization tool has always been the Tags tool
  21. What problems are you having with exporting Evernote files? I've successfully exported using both the .enex and ,html options
  22. The example you posted seems to be a valid excel document Can you add more detail about this "conversion" I'm not clear about tne "EN excel" Evernote will store excel files as a note attachment file
  23. That's true; download, re-upload is required However, it's transparent because Evernote handles this automatically >> If the user could use Word or some other writing program anywhere then the user would not need Evernote. Evernote's my note storage tool I'm with the external editors camp when I need extended features
  24. I'm a tagger instead of notebooks, but can see the usefulness of having the Project Overview note at the top of the list I use a Table of Contents note for each project A link to the Project Overview note is at the top; followed by sections for each group of project notes; for example Tasks-Active, Tasks-Pending, Tasks-Completed For additional points, the ToC notes are auto-generated using scripting (Applescript) and the Evernote Legacy product
