  1. Just wondering about the "project" priority Should these tasks also fit in the high/medium/low priortization
  2. Levels for stacks/notebooks is not currently supported in Evernote How about using 2022 > Daily Notes - 01 January > notes > Daily Notes - 02 February > notes > etc. Personally, my note titles are prefixed with yyyy-mm-dd-hh:mm I'm not concerned about stacks or notebooks This discussion has been merged with the ongoing discussion for this topic To indicate support for the request, use the vote button at the top left corner of the discussion
  3. You don''t "delete EN" from your computer 1 Close the EN app; disconnect from the internet 2 Restore the EN folders from your backup (Time Machine or other) 3 Open the EN app Before connecting to the internet, make sure you save any notes you're trying to restore The automatic sync will update your database to the latest version
  4. It's happened to me in the forums I provided a copy of a note that contained a link to one of my notes Users clicked on the link, triggering the access request
  5. You posted a picture of physical objects The "multi-level notebooks" was actually a picture of a filing cabinet and file folders I could post a picture of physical notebooks This discussion is about notes stored in a computer database Notebooks and Tags are metadata; fields in the note record
  6. Evernote uses Notebooks to identify notes for offline storage In the Legacy product, Notebooks are also used to identify notes for Local storage (not online)
  7. Correct, Top List view shows the note name and other metadata displayed in columns You chose which columns to show, and the order Location is an alias for Notebook I'll show you the sidebar on my Mac that displays the Notebook/Tag trees >Typically, folders would have pointers to each other, to effectively support the nesting that they promote, The "pointer" for Notebooks is a field (Stack) in the Notebook record The "pointer" for Tags is a field (Parent Tag) in the Tag record The screenshots below show the Notebook/Tag trees and nesting for each
  8. I think you're referring to the Notebook/Tag trees The Notebook tree is listed first Some users are more comfortable emulating folders by using the Notebook/Tag trees
  9. fwiw Tags can be organized into a hierarchy (Parent/Child) with unlimited levels Also Notebooks, but there's only two levels My proces is to reflect hierarchy in the tag name; sample !Budget, !Budget-Housing, Budger-HousingUtilities
  10. I merged new posts with this discussion and am posting my own departure announcement I was a long time Evernote user and hung on with the Legacy product to see how v10 progressed Thanks to Evernote for storing my notes over the years, and support for the final data export Also thanks for introducing me to the value of organization using tag methodology, and automation using applescript
  11. Good luck, and thanks for your forum contributions Just wondering about the"Applescript" use I found the Evernote export useful, except metadata ended up embedded
  12. Only searches where I want to exclude archived notes My default search order is modification date, decending I'm looking at the top of the list; which are recent notes Not impacted by the rest of the list, even if it's thousands of notes
  13. I use Urgent and Important tags (Eisenhower Matrix) to flag priority items There's also due dates My current task list is filtered (Status-Active or Due-Dated) and sorted by due date My thinking is a task that's due today get's attention, regardless of priority settings
  14. Long notes is an oxymoron, but I agree with you I use documents and word processing editor The document is stored in Evernote as a note file attachment
  15. No need to create new topics; just clutters the forum I merged your discussions
  16. Evernote has a an encryption feature, but it's only applicable for text I use encryption externally from Evernote for file attachments; pdfs, office/iWork documents, ...
  17. My 3rd party calendars are busy enough with event stuff I wish to see my tasks in a Gantt Chart view I've been able to emulate this by exporting the task list to a spreadsheet My use case is to - identify tasks due today and the immediate future - evaluate work load, and adjust if necessary
  18. I flagged your post; perhaps we'll here about internal security at Evernote In the meantime, before exposing sensitive data to the internet I recommend encryption
  19. afaik The only way to access your account is with the userid and password Hackers usually obtain passwords from less secure sites Do you use the same password at other sites?
  20. I suspect this wasn't a data breach at Evernote You were using same password at a less secure site Best practice is to use unique passwords for each site >>DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CRYPTO WALLET KEYS ON EVERNOTE. i have no problem storing sensitive data on Evernote. I'd make sure it was encrypted
  21. Seems like a different topic My solution is to recover "lost" info from data backups I have personal backups and Evernote has automatic Note History backups
  22. I'm a tagger, using a project id tag to link my tasks and project notes I use a script (applescript) to generate the "Main Map" page, listing the project/task notes in sections Project Notes, Tasks (Active), Tasks (Pending), Tasks (Completed), ...
  23. I have to complete weekly timesheets My solution is to store notes; time spent, details, and tagged with the project-id I have a prompt every 15 minutes This data is dumped to a spreadsheet to complete my timesheet with less guesswork and details to backup the numbers
  24. You could simply not use the new tasks feature. Personally my task management is done with notes, tags and reminder date
