  1. ??? Local patriot, that is ? You think the Italians can make cheese and wine, but no software ? From the many reasons why to use EN or not this had never crossed my mind: Geographic preferences. BTW the main dev team since a long time was located in Chile.
  2. Once a month I would define as "featherlight use". So either you get rid of some old notes, or it's the end of the journey here. On the other hand: Cheer up - 50 notes is 4 years of notes in your use case, when creating one per month. We will see what happens until 2028.
  3. Chat is down since summer, it was then when support got flooded. You can create support requests through several methods. One of them is this: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
  4. That is absolutely clear: You just need to read the documentation. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005557 It doesn't ever mention the web client: And in the remarks it clearly repeats the system requirements: You can tell EN you want this to be taken to the web client as well. But as of today (and I think for the foreseeable future) exporting more than a single note requires the installed desktop app - as described in the help documentation.
  5. Home works entirely local. It's installed software on the Mac. There is Scan Snap Cloud, but that's an entirely different approach to using a ScanSnap scanner. And there is the mobile app. So there are 4 methods of doing the same thing, plus with one of the newest models the possibility to scan directly into the cloud without a connected device.
  6. It is probably worse: Running legacy means intentionally running a deprecated software on a commercial IT network. And this in an environment where gangs of cyberthugs are only waiting to infiltrate the network and extort a ton of money after stealing data and encrypting vital information. There are mote than a few companies where trying to run unsupported software inside of the network can get you fired and locked out of the corporate network in no time. Under GDRP rules it is an offense (and can be punished) to run unsupported software combined with all sort of sensitive or personal data. It is not the nice internet back from the Yahoo and early Google years any more, where "hacking" was a description for not paying for long distance phone calls. But some folks obviously believe it will only hit "the others".
  7. 2 updates ... What we see is agile software development at work. If the current latest release is ver100, ver101 is already ready to go, maybe in notarization by the stores. ver 102 is in final testing, ver103 is under development, ver104 is being prepared by defining its features, ver105 is in the collection / review of what will be done. If you happen to find an error in the current release ver100, and manage to get it to support in no time (currently add a week or two ...), you may be able to take influence on ver106 or ver107. If it's urgent, they may try to bring it into 104 or 105. 2 updates in a cycle of currently one update per week or two is nothing.
  8. Usually you import the ENEX file in to a new, separate notebook that is named after the ENEX file. If you imported them into your main notebook, check if they have a new creation date. These should be new notes, so they should all carry the import data as creation date. Sort the list view by date, and you should see the notes.
  9. The current offerings are no issue if you make use of what you get. If you are on a light profile, you will likely feel a distortion between price and perceived value. But then you are probably an accidental subscriber, one that is not in the scope of the pricing model but subscribed anyhow. Any comparison with Google services is misleading - with Google you are the product, no matter which service you use. Every single service forces you to run a Google account on your devices, and this opens the floodgates to milk all of your digital life, to be distilled and sold to the highest bidder. My theory is that EN will let go all light users to other services - and up to now this assumption is passing the reality check.
  10. The problem of a lower entry point is as always: It will make users from the higher tiers degrade their subscriptions, shedding some features in exchange for money. All accounts carry a minimum cost, stripped down or not. So probably it takes 10 users of an "entry level" subscription to make up for 1 user of a regular subscription, in terms of profit. Or in other words: If one single user moves downward from a regular account, you need to win 9 new budget users to make up for the loss. This business model will hardly pass the reality test.
  11. Actually ScanSnap Home allows to do the same: You can review the file, you can change the name, you can file it - for example into an Import Folder. I sticked with the Manager for a while myself, but didn't really find a reason not to continue with Home. Home does everything I need, after tweaking the profiles a bit.
  12. I wonder why they didn't get the Plans ads all the time already. I share between accounts, and except of the fact that shared notes from a paid account don't count into the Free limits, the accounts are absolutely treated like any other Free account.
  13. @pierrebon I just answered the other of your double posting (DON'T DO THAT). You are using the web client, which has NO export option.
  14. @pierrebon Just took another look at your screenshots. You are using the web client, which has NO EXPORT OPTION (except for a single note). All we described is with the INSTALLED desktop client.
  15. at 1) You can scan right from the app: Open a note, hit the camera button, scan. It will import exactly there. If you mean the EN edition Fujitsu Scanner, it was deprecated by Fujitsu. It was possible to convert it by a firmware update to a regular ix500. But this firmware package was removed from the Fujitsu website, leaving the scanners more or less bricked. at 2) EN never had the (official) ability to search inside of a character string. It searches the beginning of a string. Using a * as wildcard does not make sense - it means "an undefined number of undefined characters leading", which pushes the search string out of the picture. Other search systems have another type of wildcard, usually the # . It stands for "one undefined character", which means that ####1234 is looking for "1234" behind any 4-digit character leader. But I don't think EN uses it. The best way if you search on a regular basis for a specific account is probably to use a saved search with the account number. at 3) I see thumbnails of all of my pdfs. And in most of my other notes in card view I see a thumbnail, usually from a picture. I see a grey symbol with attached Office files, and no thumbnail in text only notes. If you don't see thumbnails (and made the switch to v10 just now) maybe the conversion of the notes into the new data structure must happen first. Leave the client open, can be in the background to let it communicate with the server.
  16. If you want to toy around, hold down the alt/opt key before opening the help menu. Go to the new section "Troubleshooting", and select the developer tools. You can toggle them as well using the F12-key.
  17. To contact EN officially, try this: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Or use the feedback function build into the clients. As a longterm user you probably have noticed that while all cost were going up, EN had maintained a flat price level for years. Part of the raise we see now is just making up for missed increases in the past. Another part is probably due to the fact that under the former owners, the company was not profitable in years. If you are interested in a sustained operation of EN, you surely understand why it is necessary they refinance themselves from their subscription income. Since EN does not trade with it's users data, the subscriptions are the principal source of revenue.
  18. All clients since 2008 are build around cloud sync. To use them, you need to be logged into your account. Even when offline, it would only work when logged in before. Maybe it will work based on the last login for a while, no idea. But in general I think it's not a good idea to keep a software build for cloud sync just to tender a local dataset. Beside the fact that it's never a good idea to keep deprecated software on an active computer.
  19. This advise was posted by me already several times, so maybe I just repeat it: When I know I do multiple note operations with v10, I often take the app offline before starting. The execution time of v10 depends on doing the operation in a sequential manner, practically a one note operation running in loops. Each notes processing is directly synced with the server, before the next note is tackled. When doing the same offline, the whole operation takes place on the local database. It is significantly faster. The syncing then takes place when the app goes back online, and works down the changes made in offline mode. I just need to keep the app open (can be in the background) until the changes have synced. This is usually pretty fast as well, the total of offline change and online sync summed up is faster, than doing the whole while online.
  20. If the pictures don't show on the web client either, it is usually a sign that the picture has not synced to the server. When you create a note, the note body is synced first. The attachments like pictures, pdfs and other files will sync after this. If syncing is interrupted, it may be the attachments have not yet reached the server. Instead of the picture, only a placeholder will show, that can't be opened. Often this can be healed when going to the client where the note was originally created, and ensure a complete sync from there. If this doesn't work, the best way is to recreate the note a second time. Especially when on a slow internet connection always wait to allow all content to be synced before closing the app.
  21. Click on the word "Notebooks" in the left panel, then follow the advise in the screenshot.
  22. Yes, this was quite annoying. However it doesn't update the date any more on viewing for me, neither on the iPhone (EN 10.65.1) nor on the Mac (EN 10.71.2). Maybe you just need to update.
  23. There was an exchange between another user and the forum crowd back then. It turned out Grammarly had to adapt something (no idea what) to make it work. In case it stopped again, you probably contact better them than EN support.
  24. Click on the word "Notebooks" in the left side panel. The notebook screen will open, with an overview of all stacks and notebooks. Click on the 3 dots behind a notebook. The 3 dots behind a stack don't show that option:
