  1. Posting this in the forum will go mainly ignored. There are only other users here. If you want to promote your cause (which I support), send feedback from the app, or issue a support ticket (which requires a subscription for technical issues).
  2. Because you post general stuff, unrelated to the thread you are in. So either you are a bot, or you are trolling here. Both is against the forum code of conduct.
  3. It’s something you seem to utterly lack - it’s called experience. Or maybe it’s accidental that things work for me, and you are here ranting about yours not working for you, and searching for reasons it can’t work for others. Sorry, you have an individual problem. If it couldn’t be solved here, support is your next stop.
  4. Open the device you want to unsync. On that client, log out of your account. Then use the other client to unsync it from the server. To export, you need an installed desktop client. So probably the web client (or a mobile) must go. There is a limit of 2 unsyncs per 30 days. If you have used them by failed unsyncs, you need to wait for that period, or subscribe.
  5. Actually there are the usual suspects on a PC: Antivirus, security suites, adblockers and the like. In short anything stopping software from executing. We had a while back a report where an Antivirus „detected“ the EN installer as a Trojan. It was a false positive, but one that needs to be solved by the provider of that software. Another possibility is to check your registry for corruption, for example by former uninstalls.
  6. Apart this being a pretty clever move, no. Currently Apple is running everything offered on x86 into the ground (except gaming, which is not our subject here). But stick with Windows, it guarantees that your stomach acid level will stay comfortable for you. Just ignore my comment, it will still serve other users well - those willing to learn and exchange in this forum. I start to wonder why you are spending time here …
  7. Can just contribute that it works fine (shift-cmd-D) on the Mac with 10.72.2. To update from 10.71 if it’s not offered by the app, download the installer from the EN website
  8. Can just say the same: Import Folders work. Mid last year after an update I had one occurrence of a multiple import (same file 4-5 times). This happened after an update. Solution: Erase the existing Import Folder, log out of the client, restart the Mac. Then a fresh login, fresh setup for the Import Folder, done. Worked since. What might be in my case: I have my desktop synced trough iCloud between 3 Macs. To control the 3 clients which are bound to a physical Mac, I run one Import Folder per Mac, all on the desktop. Maybe the syncing with iCloud interfered with the import into EN. No clue, since it didn’t repeat itself, just my 5ct …
  9. You can import any file to a note using the blue + menu. I still struggle to see why such a mainstream user cannot seem to get something so basic right.
  10. Leave the installed legacy client installed. Do you use any local (unsynced) notebooks ? Then you should export them to ENEX files. Now download and install the new client from the EN website. Usually it will detect the legacy install and ask to update it. After installing open and log in. It will make an initial download. You can already start working, but there will be small delays. First because it need to load data from the servers, second because it needs to convert notes to the new data format on opening them. Let the client run in the background. It will download your notes to the new local database. This can take some time - in my case several days on a fast internet connection. The view will look less cramped than legacy. But the basic layout is as you are used to, or can be configured to look alike. New is the Tasks tab in the sidebar, and the new Home dashboard that subscribers can configure to make it their daily driver.
  11. Dragging files onto an EN notebook is not using an import folder. It works differently, as you describe. For regular exports take a look at the GitHub Evernote Backup project.
  12. You can have a TOC in a note, linking to other notes. If you keep the notes rather shortish, it works better than with long notes. We still don’t have sections within of a note.
  13. No EN staff here, just other users. You can try this; Support as guest: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=254668&guest=true&guest=true
  14. No doubt you have illusions about being missed. Skip that, if you don't find value compared to the price, you may have been a long time user, but no doubt one with a light use as well. We know without doubt that this use case will find better solutions, which means less for less.
  15. We have had similar before. In that case somebody exported everything to an ENEX of more than 20GB in size. It couldn't be imported, because every time it went beyond the upload limit. Support told they can't do anything about the limit. So either you manage with Professional and it's 20GB upload, or need more time. If the source content is properly structured, it should usually be possible the export/import the actual content first, followed by the notes used as an archive. But of course, support can be asked.
  16. You want to pass on the content ? Export as HTML, save it to a drive / USB stick or online cloud, hand it over. The content can be accessed with every browser. The attachments are there, in a folder inside of the export. Exporting as pdf doesn't take the attachments along. Export as ENEX needs an import (like into EN or another notes app) to be readable. You could share the notes as well, but this means you need to keep your account alive to keep the share working.
  17. How do you move a note to another notebook, if you are only allowed to have 1 (active) notebook ? You can’t move onto itself. All other notebooks you have in your Free account from former use don’t work anymore. They are there, read only. You can’t do anything with them, because they are outside of the now imposed limits. Game over, I would say.
  18. Some remarks (this place is user 2 user): Creation date: You don’t import your old notes, technically speaking. You create new notes with the content from the old ones. I would use a different approach than notebooks. You can create yearly tags, and monthly tags, and if you want daily tags. Sort your notes by creation date. Then select the bunch that matches, and apply a year and a month. Like c2010 for created 2010, and cJan for created in January. You can cover all the time from 2008 til today with 16 year tags plus 12 month tags. You can think about later nesting them into a creationdate structure. Tags will be maintained in the ENEX files and through import. Update volume: Yes, since they are new notes, they need to sync, and thus counts into the upload. No way around it. Data volume: You have a huge load of data, an elephant. To eat an elephant, cut it into elephant steaks (talking in general 😉). There used to be a function to split every export into smaller ENEX files. Do this. Then on importing, take your client offline. If necessary the whole computer, I use a small software on the Mac that allows this for a specific app. Now import the ENEX. And only after the import was done, take it back online. It will now sync the new notes in the background. Wait until it has done so - then repeat until done. Just my experience - I never imported more than several hundred MB, and no exports from local notebooks, so maybe give it a try before going all in.
  19. We can’t know, but I don’t expect EN to support any exotic feature just because one single maker of a device believes he just reinvented canned tomato soup. The tablet is running Android, and this is supported. An additional desktop mode is a fooley of Samsung, and no supported standard. You can ask support or send feedback. The feedback function on Android seems to be somewhat broken. Use the email address feedback@evernote.com .Feedback will not be answered.
  20. Don’t know what was created - there are no encrypted notes in EN. You can only encrypt a text selection inside of a note. Did you access it using a v10 client ? Or was it only accessed with a legacy client before ?
  21. Can’t tell you. I don’t know about the data structure of the old clients. If you can manage to export your local notebooks to ENEX (1 per notebook, not all in one), you can install v10 and simply import them into the new install. They will then sync with the server. v10 doesn’t support local notebooks any longer.
  22. You can view and edit existing notes. You can’t create new ones while above a total of 50, and you are only allowed 1 notebook in total. With 1 notebook only, you obviously can’t move a note. This is exactly how it is intended to be. The message is Free is a trial now. For all others it’s pay or leave.
  23. Can confirm the problem - happens on shared links. I have send a ticket. Will be a test as well how fast they are with tickets right now.
