@ben353253 What is so funny ? It is a native app, using a native, proprietary data format. You are hyping it, not us. All notes that are synced to the server are stored there, and can be accessed through a fine set of modern clients. There is no problem to access and use this data (except for users too stubborn or malicious to do the obvious).

Shocking increase in plan price

MS Office - …. - oh, that …. It is not that I could do without it. I actually DO without it. I think it is one of the most bloated productivity inhibitors that exist. It is much more difficult to replace EN (so I stay). -
Clipped Web articles won't open
PinkElephant replied to JoLip's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
No issues, neither with clips from iOS nor from the web clipper. They all open nicely and show the content. EN iOS 10.77.0 -
If I understand the task correctly, it is not really a problem to apply new tags, when the notes already carry the old tags. I thinking can be done in batches of 100 notes each. Filter, select, apply tags through the multi batch operation. For removing tags, this won’t work. Here it is note by note. Or remove the old tag completely (but in this case it could be renamed …).

Import Apple Notes into Evernote
PinkElephant replied to Fgsf's topic in Evernote General Discussions
ENEX is a HTML derivative - it is used by many note apps. It is well defined, open book. -
Which „legacy“ is this ? Only the very last version Win: 6.25.3 AFAIK is still syncing.

You don't see them selected, even when to copying works. About the rest see my post about the App Store version.

Oh well, the AppStore version ... It is known to produce problems the direct download doesn't have. Especially when system resources are involved, like sharing or here copy and paste through the clipboard. This has nothing to do with EN, it has a lot to do with apps from the Store being executed in a sandbox, with only limited user rights and blocking access to system resources. With the AppStore version I know no solution, because this behavior is erratic and random. I recommend to uninstall the AppStore version and download the direct installer from the EN website. I don't know if for the AppStore version the use of AppCleaner is recommended. AppStore and direct install run on different databases stored at different locations. If the AppStore database is not removed, you habe some GB (probably) of dead data on your system drive. But I think this is the only way out.

Hrrrr - hmmmmm - affordable yes, on the Apple pricing range, which knows no limit, but has a firm bottom. I always recommend to click the RAM and storage at least one notch up, from the basic config. A MacBook Air M1 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD costs 1.659€. The MBA M1 would not be my recommendation in general, although perfectly capable to run EN v10. But you get 3 month of Apple TV+ for free, and that makes it up, I think 🤣

Did you read this thread ? First thing, update your client. The current version is 10.78. Copying tags from one note to another works on 10.77. Then try again, come back if the problem persists.

Not this one. Abandoning old versions is fatal.

If forum participation is a sign of "loyalty", the statement is obviously wrong. Those with a lot of posts who were on legacy up to my knowledge have already left. Those who stayed made the transition. And I really don't know any "legacy" evangelists any longer, since years. Everybody asking for legacy to be kept up is asking for one (main) reason: To be able to preserve his own, personal, special workflows that he believes (often without really knowing) will fail once moving to v10. This is a valid argument, but it only shows that there is nothing to be gained by singing the "legacy forever" song. Even those still on legacy know they have been left behind, and that the future is somewhere else (with or without EN), but for sure not with legacy. So much about loyalty. I doubt "loyalty" is a "royalty" that really counts any more. It can be as dangerous by creating a stalemate as it can be as a way of binding customers. I want an app that struggles every day to improve - not to stagnate and leave me alone. -
Evernote legacy ending on 2024-03-23
PinkElephant replied to Alxa's topic in Evernote General Discussions
How v10 works (beside that bug) tells that updating this field will do no good: There are too many operations that WILL update it, and by that destroy the effort invested into modifying it manually. -
Fair enough. I just wanted to mention to (maybe) other forum users that the legacy trait on the web client should not be seen as a safe haven.

You post, and anybody can answer. I feel the question about me being a paid hireling in disguise is insulting - with a little forum search you could have found the answer yourself. What I do with my time is my business - mind your own, I would say. You got a constructive answer about your request. Take it and do what you want. -
As said before, I checked and have no issues with the button. I think it depends on some triggers that make it show, or move it into the "More" section. Unfortunately there is no keyboard shortcut either.

The support response time is dreadful, let's call it what it is. You can send a DM to one of us frequent users (preferably an Evernote Expert), and he can try to flag your ticket.

Evernote legacy ending on 2024-03-23
PinkElephant replied to Alxa's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Updating the updated field without actually changing something, just by viewing has been an annoying bug. It popped up sometimes, then was purged, but came back at least once later with a new release. Not good if that happens, but it is not the intended treatment of that information. What is no bug (in the understanding how v10 works) is that any action on a note will update that field: Adding/removing a tag, moving the note to another notebook, etc. -
The web browser may still have a legacy option (classical client or so), but I doubt it will survive the cut off of legacy. The new web client is v10 desktop minus a few functions, and quite capable.

Shocking increase in plan price

We have had this "I never received an e-mail" claim before. The top runners on this are the email address saved in the account is outdated and not in use any more the Spam folder was the "Inbox" the email was received, but not opened or not read You can check these options, and if no one meets your situation, send a ticket at support to tell them about your experience. Beside this, every user does his own evaluation of price vs. value. And nobody is forced to use the service. -
Disable automatic broken link creation
PinkElephant replied to N Allen's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
For me it only converts into a link if the part behind the "dot" is a typical country / root domain. So text like anything.com or anything.es will be converted, other text+dot+text formats not. Send them a support ticket if you think it should be avoided. However, support is not a positive experience at the moment (just a warning out of my own frustrations with it). -
You may not have as much time with Legacy as they say
PinkElephant replied to K55's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I think it was just too many requests send to the API in a short period of time. Practically a user induced DDOS event, that healed itself when the flow ebbed off. It makes a difference if the one or other note is synced, compared to handling full downloads.
