  1. Yes, this is way outdated and will not sync any longer. Somehow the autoupdate didn’t work for you - the new version should be 10.77 or 10.78 already. Go to Evernote.com and download the latest installer. Install, just on top of the existing app. Open, log in, should work now.
  2. Filters and search field are not fully integrated. Filters can besser by actions as well, like clicking on a tag or a notebook. Sometimes a filter was set before, which leads to less search hits. Search requires an input.
  3. @ben353253 Feel free. You are IMHO abusing this forum for pure selfish purposes. There is no need to hazzle other people just because you feel you could hazzle them. That’s one part of the story. The other part is that you try to bully others around here, without contributing to the better of forum users at all. It‘s just noise without improvement what you create. You see yourself that you are not drawing a crowd, just the opposite. But, as I already said, nothing is useless 🍿
  4. Take the laptop offline (no internet connection). Open the client. Somewhere in the menus should be a position „About …“ . There you find the version number of the client. On some clients it will show in an info window during startup of the app.
  5. As said above, the mobile client has some functionality with it’s map. If one want to use a location in searches, I think it is the faster and better way to tag the notes. Location data does only exist on notes created on mobile anyhow, and adding a tag is far easier than searching for the location data via coordinates.
  6. Oh yes - 3 answers on Reddit up to now. Stellar success … This is becoming a freak show. Enjoy 🍿
  7. You don’t want 600 tags in your search window … How hard is it to type „tag:“ followed by the tag name ?
  8. You mean move 600 tags that now are located below tag A (could be top level, or another tag) to be in the future be nested under some other tag ? Not to my knowledge - this is a one by one.
  9. As far as we know there is no hidden kill switch. EN doesn’t care about what a user may do locally on his computer, with his own data. This is all about shielding the server from access through the outdated API, and take the huge chunk of code offline that currently drives the legacy database operation. This will streamline server operations. In the long run all users will benefit from Devs free of dull code maintenance tasks, able to focus on features and bugs in the current version. If a dude is still fiddling with his legacy notes doesn’t play a role at all.
  10. Legacy fanboys ? Oh, most of then are just fellow users, and the few weird ones will have to look after themselves. Don’t be too harsh, life goes on 🌞
  11. For this sort of selection you have the filters menu. Notebooks, Tags, dates and content are some of the options.
  12. It will stop syncing. That‘s what we know. Everything else it up to the user. Who wants to try to run the client offline should take precautions to seal it off the web, and never log out. A log in was required since ever to access data offline, for security reasons. The for sure better way is to decide to switch to v10 (no data export needed, just download and log in) or an alternative (this is where this forum stops).
  13. @testYYer The new version was never build to copy all features of the old clients. It would have been hard anyhow, because there was no fixed feature set. Windows and Mac desktop client had different features, and the web client was no match. They defined a set of features that will be carried over, as described in the help documents when v10 launched more than 40 months ago. And they started to release new features that were never available on legacy. These today are important for what v10 can do for us users. Meanwhile the cost of operating legacy kept rising, out of what‘s called „technical debt“. This got a steep kick when RTE sync launched in May last year. From that moment every note created in legacy needs to be converted for v10, and every note opened in legacy coming from v10 needs to be converted backwards. A lot of conversion, a lot of double storage. It makes perfectly sense to take this complexity out of the operation, to cut the outdated code that is still needed to allow legacy to access the data and to set free the resources to keep al this alive. So it will stop, 4 weeks from now. Make your peace with the decision, and find out what works for you. EN v10 is by far the closest app to legacy, and requires no export and movement of data. Or you can check for alternatives. The only thing that will not work is to sit tight and hope legacy will be reanimated.
  14. On which client ? I see this in a side panel (1), and the text (2) tells me to draw a widget to the place where I want it to show.
  15. Your user name looks as garbled as your thinking. Nomen est omen, I would say. Nobody asks anybody to use all these functions, individually. For all users (existing and new alike) a more feature rich offer is better, where everybody can pick his choice. But of course for a die hard legacy user, features that don't exist in legacy are unimportant, because they can't be used. Classical closed loop thinking, echo chamber at it's best. Think about it, while the countdown is running.
  16. The one you can ask is support. Which I want to mention, but looking at the reports about support contacts do not recommend.
  17. Are you sure they are not there, just hidden ? It seems the Home picture now fills all the space 'til the edge of the window. Which is no problem, if you are a Mac user: So maybe the guys who developed this did it on a Mac 🧑‍💻
  18. Always talking about v10 being under featured. Looking from v10, legacy is painfully under featured. It started about a year after v10 launched, when new features were rolled out to v10. Today legacy is not under featured, it is out classed. Build your Zettelkasten around legacy ? You can't, no backlinks. Build your personal CRM from legacy ? You can't, no tasks. Build your personal dashboard from legacy ? You can't, no Home Screen. Work as a group of people on shared notes in legacy ? You can - but you will find yourself on the phone, asking person A to leave the note to allow person B to enter it. With v10, both will be there at the same time, and A will see what B does, and vice versa. I could continue. This is the main problem with the legacy holdout users: They don't even know how out classed their pet app already is. Or they don't care, which is a stupid move as well.
  19. Here is some additional information: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/5396783637779-Changes-to-Evernote-subscription-payments-in-India
  20. Maybe they just got your OS wrong: 6.25 is the latest legacy client on Windows, 7.14 is the latest on MacOS. For both platforms, only 10.77 or above will be a safe bet for continued syncing and function.
  21. It seems it's not an ad, it's part of the new UI. At least it is persistent ... won't go away at the moment. Slightly annoying.
  22. Oh yes, I forgot the lizards. Could only happen because my tin hat has fallen, so the chemtrails got me 🤪
  23. Could tell ... but Mac users only.
