The updating information in the legacy clients is not very clearly worded. If you pull the option, you will be updated straight to the most recent version of EN v10. Legacy will never get any update again - it will die in his boots.

Is there a Sent Email Log?
PinkElephant replied to qualityardandhomeamaint's topic in Evernote General Discussions
What I said is taken from your original post: You told yourself that you use the email function every month to inform your customers. This means you are trying a mass mailing action through the EN mail server. If mass mails are send from an address not declared as a legit mass mailer, it can happen that the ISPs will block the sending address as spammer. This is meant by abuse, and I mean every word of it. One EN mail server serves appr. 10 user accounts. If the address gets blocked, all 10 will be blocked. This is why I name it abuse. If you want to send mass mails to your customers, use a dedicated mass mailing service (like MailChimp) to do so. Don’t use a private mail account, and don’t use the email forwarding of your EN account. -
It depends on how the note is shared. If the owner have set it to shared / read only, you can’t do anything about it on the receiving end. Contact the owner to modify the share, to read&edit, for example.

Are you already on 10.59 ? Else the message is there, but no settings.

@zoltanweb Teams User / Admin ? Else you are in the wrong thread. -
HEIC is a standardized format, but currently mainly in use on Apple devices. Same for webp-images, promoted by Google, or several other advanced formats. EN in general supports cross platform formats. So out of luck with HEIC. You can contact support to request it. Meanwhile use the compatibility settings in iOS for the camera. This helps on other devices as well.

Evernote firing lots of staff?!
PinkElephant replied to BrooklynBen's topic in Evernote General Discussions
The simple reason is you are working for a company that doesn’t want the results of your work anymore. This can be objectively right or wrong, this can be because they see better options or simply can’t pay you any longer. It won’t change the outcome, which is a more or less harsh landing watching for another opportunity. So respect for everybody who gets into such a situation, and has to handle it. If the company is really better off after going through the pain of restructuring is another question. Often they find out that the knowledge that is not formalized and documented is at least as important as what’s in the job descriptions. This starts with „Who is still there knowing about …“. If the answer is „Nobody“, it can be an irreversible loss of knowledge. What is relevant for me is whether the service I pay for is still delivering the value I have ordered by subscribing. This I my question about the whole story. -
Did you do a forced restart of the iPad yet ? Uninstall the EN app, forced restart of the iPad, reinstall of the app. https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/force-restart-ipad-ipad9955c007/ipados

Actually the initial download should be reasonably fast, given a solid internet connection. While it is not yet finished, the app pulls all information from the server directly. What takes time is the full offline download, because the attachments really carry the main data volume.

MP3 bug
PinkElephant replied to peterlemer's topic in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
You can try to add a file:///pathname/filename as „URL“ to make a link yourself. Can‘t try at the moment, the Mac is not where I am. -
price increase
PinkElephant replied to info@drycoatingcompany.nl's topic in Evernote General Discussions
And ? Nobody is forcing you to buy anything, so don’t play the victim. The difference is that some people may go beyond their possibilities to buy an expensive car. You will hardly be overwhelmed by the price of a plain coffee per week for an EN subscription. If you don’t find enough value, move on. By your use of a company mail address I assume you are a commercial user. This evaluation of what you get when you decide to buy should be your daily business - any mimimi about how unfair the world is with raising prices is probably vanishing from your head once you start to write your OWN invoices. -
The integrations were not sold by EN (exxeot a handful of integrations listed on the website). They were sold by others. The API is there, even for free accounts. You pay the other side, outside of EN to make use of it. That APIs sometimes lag behind the core app is regrettable - but you make your own income with your core features, not with offering an API, without charging for it. See Twitter or Reddit - both are currently breaking whole ecosystems by starting to charge for using their APIs.

For screenshots I actually use the build in screenshot tool of iOS. I have configured my iPhone to take a screenshot whenever I make a double tap on its back. I can then add markers and text, and share it directly into EN, without using the camera roll. On the Mac I use the menu bar app Shottr, with even better capabilities.

Can Evernote support code syntax highlighting
PinkElephant replied to OasisLee's question in General Technical Issues
BS has told they are working on a next level code feature. It seems they see a use case that will draw attention. I wouldn’t be surprised when we find it nicely wrapped into the subscription levels. It will btw be one of the first features developed by the new dev team. So it will be an interesting extension of the current app not only for it’s added functionality. -
Evernote firing lots of staff?!
PinkElephant replied to BrooklynBen's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Is an Italian less worthy than an American to work on a piece of code ? And what’s your position about EN laying off their staff in Chile as well ? Unimportant because „far away“ ? Just askin‘ … -
No, seems to be a bug. It doesn’t accept my login either. Contact support. I am not sure there is anybody still available to fix anything on Skitch. Skitch was acquired by EN years ago, and had probably only a handful of maintainers among the EN staff. Since the devs were fired, and development moved to Italy, I am not sure about secondary apps like Scannable, Penultimate and Skitch with their own code base. But probably we will find out now.

Not sure about this app version, but on the older versions the toggle to stop the download had a strange behavior: When toggled from on to off, it sticked briefly on OFF, and then toggled itself to ON again. And now - patience, young padwan ! After a wait of several seconds (up to a minute, and maybe longer for 12k notes) it returned to OFF, switching itself back to what the user wanted.

No, I don’t detest anything. I really like the fact that no matter which platform I use, EN notes keep their formatting, due to a font that is used everywhere. All fonts installed on a certain OS are specific to that OS, and can’t be used on a different one without a license infringement. Your „Times NR“ is a Windows font, not available on a Mac, for example. So speak for yourself - not for „everyone else“. Default setting is SansSerif 16pts, and it can only be altered inside of a note, for this single note. Set a slab of text to your liking, choose the Standard Text Style, select use this style as Standard Text Style from the 3 dots menu. No general setting for the standard font, often requested in the first months, it’s gotten more quiet about this feature request later.
