You're looking at the new feature for checklists (checkboxes in a list)
You might be happier just using plain checkboxes with no list
Your post includes the actual script command (tell application "Evernote" to ...)
Be aware - Applescript integration is no longer supported by the Evernote v10 product
Are you sure this is the right application for printing
I see Evernote as a browser, and notes are more in common with web pages
For printing features, I use a word processing app
The document is stored in Evernote as a note attachment
The good news is Legacy and v10 use the same server database;
so the attachments aren't lost - just not visible
Can you post a sample note (enex format) or a public link?
If you export the note in html format, are the attachments included?
(I moved this discussion from the Android forum)
Just a followup on the import folder post since Evernote's failure in implementing a solution
Instead of using tell application id "com.evernote.evernote" ... which is no longer supported
We can use tell application "Finder" to open file ... using application ...
We all know some features/services are no longer supported by Evernote's v10 product
This does not mean they've got "something wrong"
If these features/services are important to me, I simply need to use a different product
I'm not into the wailing and gnashing of teeth
Easy to restore only if you have the account id and password
In the Legacy product, we can use a Local Notebook for encryption before moving the note to a sync'd notebook
I have no Electron preconceptions but I will NEVER switch to an app that lacks scripting integration
Less drama; the Evernote Version 10 product simply does not address my requirements
I continue to use the Evernote Legacy product,
and yes - at some point in the future I will need to switch products
Legacy is the product Evernote is replacing with the Version10 product
The Legacy product can be installed at https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
It uses the same note database, and has more export features
Can you explain a use case for this?
Personally, I have minimal notebooks - relying on tags for organization
I store due dates using the reminder feature
For automation, I use applescripts (Legacy product)
Another solution is third party Filterize
I also don't use the encryption feature in Evernote
It's limited to specific text within a note, and locks in my data to Evernote
Instead, I use the native encryption of file attachments; pdfs, office/iwork attachments, ...
Screenshot is from the Notebooks page, right-clicking a notebook
I have daily incremental and weekly full backups
Automated using applescript with the Evernote Legacy product
Using the direct search syntax; search for reminders reminderOrder:*
Two other searchable items are reminderTime and reminderDoneTime
My current task list is generated by saved search reminderOrder:* -reminderTime:day+1 -reminderDoneTime:*
Did you look at the links themselves; they are quite different
The format is so the "app link" can open the app client itself, with the note (evernote:///view/)
so the "web link" can open a browser window, with the note (www.ecernote.com...)
Of course "can" may be adjusted on clicking as required by Evernote
I moved the discussion from the IOS forum
Export is a Windows/Mac function
Separate exports for each notebook are recommended
- retains notebook assignment
- there's no limit on # of notes
