  1. The Evernote service is being discussed in these posts, which you are have a premium account, your "payed service" and "prevents me from using EN as single source for all my notes and reseach work"
  2. The Evernote service has options for files; including oversize files.
  3. I use a spreadsheet, stored in the note as an attachment.
  4. Are you sure you want to be testing IOS beta versions? How to uninstall iOS beta software
  5. And generate .md files that can be stored in a note as a file attachment.
  6. It's still baby steps, but I'm excited by the possibilities. Every year the hardware gets better, the OS gets better, the apps get better. My hope is the eventual consolidation of IPadOS and MacOS
  7. There you go. Others will have different counts. We need a desktop device for the heavy lifting stuff There's overlap where the same functions are do-able on either device. It's good idea to have backup resources.
  8. Evernote has indicated an interest in a common editor, and feature parity for platforms; no timeframe indicated Of course each platform/device is has different levels of capabilities >>Like many people I don’t use my Mac except when I absolutely have to....I have no intention of replacing my Mac when it dies. I don't understand this. I have a Mac Mini running constantly for features not supported by an iPad
  9. That works, but I do question the need for a note that contains "older entries" I use separate dated notes
  10. All users are entitled to post feature requests, and to indicate their support using the vote button in the upper left corner of the discussion
  11. Tags are Evernote's primary solution for note organization, and the solution to multiple assignment to a note The web platform is still missing many features available on the Windows and Mac platforms, but we're expecting this will be resolved over time >>1) you can't nest them Evernote supports unlimited hierarchy for Tags (Mac/Windows) There is no support for notebook nesting >>2) they're not the main point of organisation on the left-hand panel (notebooks are) The sidebar displays trees for both notebooks and tags (Mac/Windows) >>c) tags are likely to be far more numerous. This is a user decision, but I don't see this as a downside >>There's no reason you shouldn't be able to add the same note to multiple notebooks Evernote uses notebooks to identify notes as private/shared or sync'd/local. Not conducive to multiple assignments In addition to the UI, multiple assignment requires a database structure. This structure has not been implemented for notebooks.
  12. That's my understanding (Evernote/Web) There's also Android possibility https://blog.google/products/chromebooks/the-google-play-store-coming-to/
  13. It's not a notebook thing for me (taggger with minimal notebooks) but I control the note sequence by adjusting the title and date fields of the "master note" My "master note" is at the top of the list >>I make a master note for every project that has links to important documents, a summary of high level important info, etc My "master note" contains links to active project (master) notes This list is kept up to date by an applescript on my Mac; also a feature of third party Filterize
  14. I agree with using a document editor that supports LaTeX. I use Apple Pages, and store the documents as note attachments If Evernote had a $ for every post that said "not that hard to implement", ...
  15. Bypass Evernote/Mac and log into Evernote using the web platform at www.evernote.com There's a button for lost password
  16. Two alternate views on this A mid price tier will add paying customers A mid price tier will cannibalize the Premium Tier
  17. Evernote is a cloud service and stores/processes our notes on the servers; possibly the same servers used by iCloud (where do you think iCloud data is stored?) Platforms have different data configurations. Metadata is maintained in an SQLite database, and notes are maintained in enml/html format. Mac and IOS have no option to change the data location. >>Then I know if for some reason I cancel an Evernote subscription my notes are 'mine' and available. I have personal backups and use the export feature to maintain an html data copy external from Evernote. I can store this data copy "in iCloud" >>I don't want any of my notes "scanned" by a third party like Google. Our Evernote data can not be accessed by third parties unless we provide authorization >>I like Apples's privacy policy more than Google's. How do you feel about Evernote's privacy policy? >>Apparently Google scans everything on its servers. Apparently you are misinformed - Where do you get your information from? As to the NSA, Russia, China, ... 😦 >>Also, Evernote features should be integrated into Apple's native apps. Have you talked to Apple about this? fwiw An Evernote note can contain files of any format. For example, I store Apple Pages documents in Evernote; also Apple Numbers spreadsheets If working in Apple Notes, I use the share menu to send to Evernote. >>I can't simply contact Evernote with feature requests. You are posting your request in Evernote's forum You can contact Evernote support on Twitter @evernotehelps
  18. Have you submitted a support ticket (user > support > submit support request) You could also check at the activity log to see if there's an error message
  19. Mac Folder Actions will also launch a script. Details here
  20. I merged the discussions for this topic To indicate your support for the request, use the vote button at the top left corner of tne discussion. This request has user votes >>Please let me know if this is not something y'all will be working on so I can look for another note taking app. No indication from Evernote. I recommend the Notability app I save the document in Evernote as a note attachment file in both native and image/pdf format
  21. 5 devices? Seems excessive - I have a Mac and iPad, and 2 hands Maximum note size 100MB? Too limiting $2.25/month, $27/year I'm thinking the charge should be related to the costs incurred for providing the service
  22. If you're talking about the Evernote editor, there is no charge. You can download the app from the Evernote site or application stores; or access using the web.
