  1. Hi. Did you notice a 'proceed as guest' option on screen? otherwise see Forum home page - https://discussion.evernote.com/announcement/72-issues-accessing-evernote-support-channels/
  2. Anything would be more user-friendly than the shard link, but isn't a link like AlanTitchmarshLeafBlowers a reasonable compromise? You could suggest a user definable option in an Ideas forum...
  3. All the alternatives (and there's a Reddit link somewhere that lists 80+) seem to me to have more downsides than sticking with Evernote. Depending on your expertise and exact use case, there may be one or another that you could use - but personally I'm no longer being distracted by shiny things elsewhere; unless and until Evernote proves unworkable I'm just getting on with things here...
  4. Hi. Only if you create this sort of a link (which is just this page).
  5. Hi. Just to be clear - you create a new note and add tags, but when you then view the completed notes, no tags are visible? Could you set up a test note with some random tags and provide a screen shot?
  6. I believe the default action from that doubleclick is now to open that 'quick note' window as a convenience for users... users don't seem to like it much though. Sadly I don't think there's currently a way to change it.
  7. Unless someone here posted twice I just saw another similar issue - flagged it to an Admin for attention... @Shane D.
  8. Wow - I still have you beat though; my database is now 30GB+ (and I'm still on an UN-updated 6.25.1) !! Evernote do plan on allowing full notebook exports in due course, but like you, I prefer to have all my notes backed up under my direct control. And I backup frequently - I don't think frequent 30GB downloads are going to be a practical option for me...
  9. Hi. New version - limited features; being improved but meantime there's Legacy. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
  10. This is the third query of this type I've seen in a short period, the common thread being new device / unsync old access / too many syncs / locked out. It seems to be a trend @Shane D....
  11. As @DTLow said, that would be correct. As far as we know EN10 doesn't have a user-accessible local database file and (I believe) although it is possible to download and save ENEX files from the new app on a notebook by notebook basis, you're currently limited to 50 notes at a time - which is pretty much useless for all practical purposes. Best backup currently available is to export ENEX from the legacy app. (NB one ENEX file per notebook and make sure that the options are set to include note tags!!)
  12. So if you install the Evernote app on a new PC and log in it will still want to verify your account with the server. Your best bet (I think) would be to export your existing installation to ENEX files (one file per notebook, and check 'options' to be sure tags are also included), then set the app up on the new PC - if you can - and re-import your notebooks. If the firewall prevents your even logging in, you'd be able to use an external computer to recreate the local database from the ENEX files, but I don't know how you'll be able to recreate it internally... (I'm assuming that you can't use Evernote web and wouldn't wish to have these notebooks online with the server...)
  13. Hi. I'm very sorry to hear of this, but you are unlikely to get a specific response in the forums - please raise a support ticket. It's going to take a while for a human response, but you should immediately get a ticket number. Do stress this is about data loss - and please let us know the eventual outcome here. I agree the complete loss of a new note is very concerning.
  14. If you are using the Legacy version alongside your new EN10, the EXB file contains a full copy of your database. For complicated reasons it's not a reliable backup - but you can export the ENEX files (which are the correct backups) from Evernote Legacy if you want...
  15. Some of us still log into 5.33 - apparently because of the size of my database. Support did connect me to the new version briefly, but bad things happened so I reverted to the old UI.
  16. Hi. Web pages are built by dozens of different applications with varying degrees of accessibility. The fact that Evernote is able to get anything off some pages is an achievement, an exact copy would be a miracle. I use a variety of methods to get clips from cut and paste to using any "print this page" built in options, or displaying it (on my desktop) as a mobile page. I also use third party page capture, printing to PDF and even taking a photograph or the desktop screen with my mobile. You just have to keeo trying until you can find a way that generates the least worst copy!
  17. Hi. We're a -mainly- user driven Forum, so no way to check for any errors from this end - your best bet will be Evernote support on Twitter @EvernoteHelps, though as you can imagine, they may be a little busy at the moment...
  18. The problem with the web version is that you are dealing with another layer (or two) between you and your account. If the browser lost a connection, was slowed down in passing the data through to Evernote, or even if it just closed down before it had managed to send all the content, your information is only present in the browser's temporary cache. It isn't saved to your laptop, and it hasn't reached Evernote so couldn't be saved on their servers. Did you ever see the note in Evernote? If not it has most likely gone, but the support team will of course do all they can to find any traces.
  19. You heard wrong - the web app is a fixture. What editor do you use for your markdown? The format is not supported by Evernote, though someone obviously found a way to use the previous editor to show the correct layout. The problem is that Evernote have changed their editor. Your markdown app will presumably adapt - maybe you should be talking to their support too?
  20. Hi. Which version of Evernote were you using? The desktop app, or the web?
  21. Hi. A couple of posts here have mentioned problems with unsyncing limits. We're a -mainly- user driven forum so don't have any access to check or correct issues - if it's urgent to get access you may have to consider subscribing (even if only for one month). The only other options are 1) set up another free account (you'll need a second email address) to keep your new notes in until the other account unlocks; 2) just wait it out and/ or 3) reach out to Evernote on Twitter @EvernoteHelps - though I'd imagine they're a little busier than usual at the moment...
  22. Most features will be returning says Evernote. When that happens you will should able to use v10 in pretty much the same way that you used to use the previous versions. Until that happens, Legacy has more options than 10.
  23. Hi. It's been the (unpopular) style for a while I believe - though it's similar to other sites that warn you as you leave their pages.
  24. Hi. A lot of features were stripped out for the new cut-down launch version. If your issue relates to one of these you can get it back by going 'legacy*', but many are -at least temporarily- unavailable. We don't yet know what's coming back, or in what timescale or order. Sorry. *See: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
