  1. Do we really need bells, whistles and blim-blim with everything we use ? It might be mildly satisfying, but effects like this are known to take focus away. If not your own, then that of the person next to you.
  2. Web Clipper continues to work fine for me in Safari 15.5 in Monterey 12.4. Remember there are websites that actively try to or accidentally prevent web clipping, and invent new tricks to do so. It is a permanent race between web design and clipper capabilities, and it is not assured that the clipper will work on every web site, all of the time. GitHub may be among them, WebClipper did not start on that site when I tried on an arbitrarily chosen page there. If I run into a problem using Safari, I use Firefox as alternate browser. I never use Chrome. FF worked fine on the same page. You can inform EN about the problem by issuing a support ticket, telling browser, WebClipper version and the URL of the site. They usually check it and try to find a fix. This race will never stop (WTF, and if you use GitHub, you should know better than this).
  3. There is a brochure from the GTD organization about how to set up GTD with EN for Windows. It is for version 6.25, but it will still work with v10. What it does not reflect is whether and how to employ the new features like Tasks, Home and the calendar integration. It is for example new and highly important for a GTD implementation that by Tasks, notes are now directly actionable. With a Professional/Teams account they can even be delegated to other people. Maybe you can approach the GTD guys , tell them about your problems and ask them to review this document.
  4. I tried to open that notebook with my free account, but it did not work out. When opening it to the web, it looked "old". My assumption is that it was created with an old EN version, no idea what may apply to that version. And somehow it still shows this vintage design. Just look at this icon: I tried with a shared notebook my wife shared to me - recipes, what else. When I open it a right click on a note, I can select "Copy to ..." or duplicate. Both options work. And the new version looks completely different. Conclusion: The account from which the share is made seems to be set to the classic editor. EN announced to discontinue it this year, and warned it may start to malfunction. Maybe this is already the case here. The account owner should be contacted to activate the v10 editor in account settings. Maybe this will solve the many issues I see when I open the share.
  5. Contact support about the upgrade issue - just note that you made a contract with Apple, not with EN. EN support may try to help you through, but it may require an interaction with Apple as well. Follow the link, choose „Billing % Payments“ as ticket type. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new That the Skitch app is not on afterburner regarding updates is nothing new. You can check the update history in the AppStore before buying. EN purchased it several years ago, made a lukewarm integration, and just keeps it afloat. I am not sure if there is even anybody at EN devs actively thinking about lifting Skitch anywhere. The Premium subscription is not on sale any more - I think they just keep it in the AppStore because existing subscribers are allowed to prolong. The Premium-level is now called Personal, for the same price. With your use case you basically just „bought“ the larger upload limit per month - 10GB instead of 60MB per 30 days. Personal can do much more for you, but you must know whether you want to make use of it. Any purchase through one of the stores can take a day or so to trickle through the systems involved. To see you account status, you sometimes need to log out and back in. As I said, Premium is not sold any more, so I hope the subscription did not end up in a dry branch when it was matched with your prior subscription, and did not meet a grandfathered Premium account. But support should be able to tell.
  6. 3 years ago there was no v10 client … It is no gap, it is how it works. If you like it or not is probably not the utmost focus when designing software. As we learned over the last 2 years (that‘s when the new clients launched), the app runs inside of a framework. All interaction between app, the OS and other apps needs to be channeled through or handled by this framework. This is probably behind the decision to open links in the build in browser first. It is then one click (tap) to move the session to Safari. If you believe it should be „addressed“, just go ahead with a support ticket, or by the feedback function build into the clients. I am pretty sure this is not even on the „backlog“, the master of all things to be addressed. And I doubt it will make it there, but this is just my personal view.
  7. Open your account settings, go to personal settings, and disable automatic filing for emails.
  8. Can‘t reproduce what was described. Nobody else answered the original posting. Conclusion: Can‘t be a widespread problem. We can speculate about the health of your battery (which in turn influences the processing power, which can cause a device to lock when a lot of computing power is needed). Usually the iPad Pros don’t have this sort of trouble, however. So wait for it to happen again, and then open a support ticket from the same device. By default, an activity log will be attached.
  9. Another difference to iOS: The iOS client is fast, and it stays fast. I rather just get the regular updates from the AppStore, and use the app. No need for logouts or even a reinstall.
  10. PopClip is not only for this single use - it has a wealth of options, and works in all applications. Yes, you can do without - but for me it helps a lot, and it made itself pay.
  11. Why should „they“ ? You can promote it as a new feature by sending feedback in one of the clients, or issue a support ticket.
  12. Personally I think you have overcomplicated your tags. They contain a logical element, plus a date, all in one string. Why ? It means you create for every new date some new tags. Again and again. Because every single element that changes means another tag. If you would create first a set of logical tags, and then a set of day-tags, month-tags and year-tags, you get a finite set of tags, that live from their combination. Because search in EN is following the AND logic, to combine the tags logicBE day08 month01 year2022 does the same, as searching for BE-08-01-2022 . But you only switch the logic element to go from draft to published, for example. This means you never need to create new tags (except maybe from the year tags once a year). You can use the multiple notes selection ability to assign the same tags in a new combination to a set of notes at once.
  13. @Carl-L-ND You were clear enough, and I presumed you have no issues finding the notes containing the text - be it in the notes title or body, be it in an attachment. OCR of pdfs is a subscription feature, starting with legacy Premium (not Plus). Finding the notes works for me, no problems. If it doesn’t work for you, contact support. Especially because you say you have similar problems with web no mobile - both use the server index.
  14. No, I couldn’t explain. Luckily as another user I don’t need to. The forum is mainly user2user. I noticed as well that the app is not opened, and am happy you now did so as well. So maybe you now ask support, and then have the courtesy to post the outcome here ? Thanks in advance !
  15. This is how it works in the Mac version of v10 - I assume it works the same in the Windows version: Open the note with the pdf. Select the pdf, choose "Show all pages". Go to the 3 dots menu, select "Search in note ...". A dialogue box will show, where you enter the searched string. Below it are arrows. It will tell how often the string was found, and by hitting the arrows, you jump to the position of the findings. If it is inside of the pdf, it will go to the page. Sometimes the place where it found it is a little below the bottom edge of the screen, so scroll a little. The search highlights the position of the string in the pdf (which can be a little off, because it will have a position on the page remembered). And I agree - this is not properly documented. On mobile, you open the pdf to view it, and hit the magnifying glass. you enter the search string. You get thumbnails of the page on which it was found, and beside it a short text from the document with the searched string highlighted. By tapping on one of the findings, you jump to that position. The highlighting will still be there, so it is easy to find the text. In general it is more complex to find a text in a note that holds several pdfs, if that text is hidden in one of the pdfs.
  16. This already exists. Look up the service at https://postach.io . They allow you to convert an EN notebook into a blog. Each new note will be a new blog entry. Yes, it is an external service, and yes it costs money if used frequently. But why must EN destroy another company that helps it to build an ecosystem ?
  17. We will see what happens in the field of authentication. If the current initiative of Google and Apple works out (which depends on it being OKed by antitrust authorities), the time of dedicated hardware keys may be over before it ever really began. This stuff is from my observation still pretty nerdy.
  18. ??? I doubt @Mike P is facing an error he can’t resolve himself … What is your purpose of posting in this thread, that was silent for months now ?
  19. Notes don’t disappear just like that. Have you already looked up the trash ? Even if something was deleted, it is just moved to the trash, and can be reactivated from there. To remove it from the trash, it must either be selected again, and deleted individually; or the whole trash must have been emptied. This is a second action, and unlikely to happen by accident. A note in the trash can be selected and reactivated.
  20. This has already been requested in a multitude of threads, but of course in English. If you look it up, your find it goes many years back, the arguments repeat themselves, and the ideas why EN may have a hard time to make it happen, Meanwhile split the one big note into several smaller ones, and use a TOC table of content note to navigate between them. This lets you address individual „chapters“, and reduces the risk of syncing problems as well.
  21. Thanks for pointing this out - so we know what to do now. If you think it is a bug just because it works differently from other apps (suddenly the world is full of bugs …), issue a support ticket.
  22. Why „should it be there“ ? Just because you believe it should ? EN is a note taking app, no page Lay-out program. If you want full Lay-out control, use a word processor or page designer. For better control over pictures you can add a table, and place the picture into a cell. Else it is just placed in the text flow, as it is usually done on any simple web site. If you want to insist on your believe, you can send it directly to EN by the feedback function build into the clients. Maybe you think about better arguments than „…. it should“.
  23. On iPhone 11 or iPad Air 5, latest iOS, EN 10.35: Start the app to Home: 2 seconds. Open a note from home, or switch to classic view: Less than 2 seconds. Open a notebook, either from Home or classic view: Less then 2 seconds. Open the app from a widget: About 2 seconds, longest was open a new Sketch, which maybe took a tick longer. No matter if online or in flight mode. If you need longer, and the device is anything above an iPhone X, make a complete uninstall. Restart the iOS device (Apple logo must show). Reinstall the app, log in and wait until the initial download has run. If this doesn’t help, ask support to look for a clue in an activity log.
