You can't. Shared notes needs to be unshared before they are deleted. If not, the shared note gets "orphaned" in the receiving account. It can't be unshared, because the original no longer exists. But they can't be deleted, because the sharing link was broken. The best we found is to set up a "lost notes" notebook, move them there and forget them. Hopefully EN will present a solution one day.

Sync failures (?)
PinkElephant replied to fj58's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
If on desktop I would counsel to rebuild the local database. But web hasn’t got one, and for Android it would be a unusual cure. Wish you luck with getting it solved ! -
Sync failures (?)

You are sure you logged into the same account ? One little mistake, and instead of opening the existing account, a new one is created. Else contact support (the forum is user2user). -
Yes, in every case you want to avoid to install on the system drive, you need to go through the symbolic link. Downside of an external SSD is you need to keep it attached all of the time. Depends on how you use your notebook. A replacement of the system SSD (if possible) would probably be the cleanest option. They are not that expensive any more, and it keeps the notebook alive for some more years.

Wrong - WebKit is the name of the Apple web engine, driving Safari on Mac and iOS. On iOS all browsers must use WebKit by default - the OS does not allow to install another engine. If you run Chrome or Firefox on iOS, they always need to run as a skin on a WebKit platform. The Chrome engine (driving Chromium as well) is called Blink and is maintained by Google. It is used in all other cases where Chrome or one of it derivates is running, including Chrome on the Mac. The Engine driving Firefox is called Gecko. It is maintained by Mozilla, the foundation that offers Firefox and the Thunderbird free email client. It is notable that Google is one of the main contributors to the Mozilla funding. Dropping a few millions on Mozilla is probably much cheaper than facing antitrust legislation because of the way how Chrome supports the search engine core business of Google. There is a handful more "engines", but not in broad use. Personally I run Safari as my main browser, and Firefox as secondary. No problems.

Import folders „now“ added: A little late to the party, we just put the last glasses into the dishwasher: Moving the EN database to another place: Just to mention it - don’t move the database to a turning disk. This had already been a bad idea with legacy, performance issues were the consequence. With v10 it can add syncing problems to the trouble collection. A turning disk has a significant delay compared to an SSD, especially when retrieving data from disk. Only use an SSD - can be an external one, linked through at least an USB 3 interface.

Safari (or better web kit, it’s engine) is worldwide the second browser in terms of usage. I don’t think it is „neglected“. The problem is IMHO that Google / Chrome permanently tries to push own features as standards. Many have a trapdoor build in in terms of privacy (often called „anomyzation“, which comes out as semi-anonymous, still able to support cross website tracking). Since Safari only works on Apple devices, Firefox as the third browser on an own engine is important to have a choice.

This thread is heavily misleading. All posts except the last one are about the old, legacy client. It worked off the local database, syncing it independently from using the client. The new client will sync practically instantaneous with the cloud, and use the local copy mainly to speed things up, and for offline use. These 2 clients are sufficiently different not to be discussed in the same thread.

How to use iphone shortcut to create a task in a note
PinkElephant replied to Jimmith's topic in Evernote Integrations
The new clients run inside of a framework. Up to now we (other users) could not make them accept automations, not by Siri, not by the Shortcuts app, not by Apple Script. Feel free to try, but I think it will not work. -
LOL … it is just Chrome itself that is the problem. It is the method Google uses to dominate the way the web is seen by users, and to make Google draw the maximum profit from your interaction. Google is selling your attention (a tiny part of your limited life span) to whoever is willing to pay the most to get it. Sure Chrome is working - but it is not working for you in first place. My personal opinion about G…

How to edit Webclip Note?
PinkElephant replied to ysliew138's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
To send feedback to EN, use the feedback function of the clients. -
How to disconect from devices
PinkElephant replied to Oksana's topic in Evernote General Discussions
If suddenly a lot of unknown devices show up, it may be your account was hacked. If you are not familiar with the new devices, follow this instructions: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004395487 First follow the advise to make the account safe again. Immediately change your password to a new, unique (not used elsewhere, and very different to the old one) and strong (15 characters, mixed, no existing word) one. In addition you can create a second security layer with 2FA. Before starting to unsync any device, go to the bottom of the help article. There is a link to support. Click it, and choose „account“ as ticket type. You can only unsync 2 devices every 30 days. If there are 5 listed, it will take 3 months to unsync. Support can help you to drop them all. -
… plus add if you really mean the web clipper (browser extension), or the EN helper. Both have a screenshot tool.
