  1. This already exists. Look up the service at https://postach.io . They allow you to convert an EN notebook into a blog. Each new note will be a new blog entry. Yes, it is an external service, and yes it costs money if used frequently. But why must EN destroy another company that helps it to build an ecosystem ?
  2. We will see what happens in the field of authentication. If the current initiative of Google and Apple works out (which depends on it being OKed by antitrust authorities), the time of dedicated hardware keys may be over before it ever really began. This stuff is from my observation still pretty nerdy.
  3. ??? I doubt @Mike P is facing an error he can’t resolve himself … What is your purpose of posting in this thread, that was silent for months now ?
  4. Notes don’t disappear just like that. Have you already looked up the trash ? Even if something was deleted, it is just moved to the trash, and can be reactivated from there. To remove it from the trash, it must either be selected again, and deleted individually; or the whole trash must have been emptied. This is a second action, and unlikely to happen by accident. A note in the trash can be selected and reactivated.
  5. This has already been requested in a multitude of threads, but of course in English. If you look it up, your find it goes many years back, the arguments repeat themselves, and the ideas why EN may have a hard time to make it happen, Meanwhile split the one big note into several smaller ones, and use a TOC table of content note to navigate between them. This lets you address individual „chapters“, and reduces the risk of syncing problems as well.
  6. Thanks for pointing this out - so we know what to do now. If you think it is a bug just because it works differently from other apps (suddenly the world is full of bugs …), issue a support ticket.
  7. Why „should it be there“ ? Just because you believe it should ? EN is a note taking app, no page Lay-out program. If you want full Lay-out control, use a word processor or page designer. For better control over pictures you can add a table, and place the picture into a cell. Else it is just placed in the text flow, as it is usually done on any simple web site. If you want to insist on your believe, you can send it directly to EN by the feedback function build into the clients. Maybe you think about better arguments than „…. it should“.
  8. On iPhone 11 or iPad Air 5, latest iOS, EN 10.35: Start the app to Home: 2 seconds. Open a note from home, or switch to classic view: Less than 2 seconds. Open a notebook, either from Home or classic view: Less then 2 seconds. Open the app from a widget: About 2 seconds, longest was open a new Sketch, which maybe took a tick longer. No matter if online or in flight mode. If you need longer, and the device is anything above an iPhone X, make a complete uninstall. Restart the iOS device (Apple logo must show). Reinstall the app, log in and wait until the initial download has run. If this doesn’t help, ask support to look for a clue in an activity log.
  9. Free users can only activate the SMS version. Authenticator use is a subscribers feature. I use Authy as well, works fine.
  10. Try Revo Uninstaller, from the web. When it works, remove everything. Then restart the PC, download from the EN website, install and log in. Once it is open, wait for the initial download to finish before using the client.
  11. Maybe your local database took a hit. You can rebuild it from the server: Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“ Log out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q). When asked confirm "Remove Data from This Device". If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync. Let the initial download run, and leave the app open. It will take a while to download the full content, for offline use.
  12. You can ask to have your hammer somehow work as a screwdriver as well - or you take a screwdriver right away. Take the photo with your camera app (do you know how many options it has to make better pictures / pictures better ? Functions EN will never have, because they don’t need it). Share the picture to EN, which will create a new note. Add your comments.
  13. If it is mainly the "Recently used" notes that is bugging you, you can simply switch it off in desktop app settings. Furthermore you can specify a notebook (other than your standard notebook) when forwarding an email by adding @myothernotebook right behind the mails title. Then the mails will go to Myothernotebook instead of the default one.
  14. I have already flagged this issue to staff (via DM).
  15. Can you describe your use case ? Any account (except Business, but this is shared by definition) is personal - in effect you just hide notes from yourself.
  16. .... just think about when uploading any pictures of handwriting, that it must be JPG, PNG or GIF. EN will OCR handwriting only when saved as pictures (this means you have a bunch of them in a note, each one a single page). It will not OCR handwriting when uploaded as a pdf.
  17. So you had all the subscription features all the time, features for money - what exactly is your problem ?
  18. You are talking about photos, or about scanned images ? The main use of the build in camera function is probably to scan documents. On a scanned image nobody really knows which fine detail may be important, so they keep it on high quality. Shrinking the file size usually creates compression artifacts, and they destroy readability for the finer print. I have official letters scanned, with the company address in the bottom of the page, in 6pt print, light grey. And still search will find it, even if I search for information that is only there (like a tax ID number or a company registration number). About location data, the photos are embedded into a note. And the note has location data, if the function is active and the note was created on a mobile device. Opposite to location data embedded into a picture, you can even search for this location. If you want smaller picture sizes, use another app (maybe the one build into the OS) to take the picture, reduce the size and upload it. It will then have location data as well. But remember you may have problems with search later on, and this can't be corrected. Or just pay what you use, and you don't need to think about photo file sizes any more.
  19. Go to the EN website, download the installer and run it. If this doesn't stick, maybe your local database has taken a shot. In this case use the app AppCleaner to make a complete uninstall (the Mac uninstaller won't do), restart the Mac, reinstall from the website and log in.
  20. Penultimate is ... OK if you have nothing else. Noteshelf sort of syncs with EN, some like it, others (like me) think it is not the pink. The Sketch function build into the app is made for sketching, not for handwriting. It lacks the typical functions of good handwriting apps, like palm recognition, OCR on input and ink smoothing. To wrap it up, even on iOS I would always resort to a dedicated app for handwriting, and forget about this integration stuff. I use GoodNotes 5, and when done export a note or notebook to EN, complete with full OCR and search ability, as a pdf. I can continue to annotate it in EN - to make changes, I need to go back to GoodNotes. On Android: No idea. But I think it may be still easier to find some handwriting app, than to find one that does integrate smoothly.
  21. Then we are here at the wrong place. Please open a new thread in the correct subforum.
  22. Personally I like to handle my subscription through the iTunes Store, and never had a problem. But your contract is now with Google - EN has no direct access to them. Have you tried with PlayStore support yet ?
  23. If you want to keep Mac and mobile in sync, you need to update. They release new features pretty much at the same time in both platforms. Updating one and not the other can lead to inconsistent behavior. Beside this, not updating is your own decision. I think it is more reasonable to keep the dmg files of the prior version, which always allow a fresh install of the older software. But up to now, with 40 releases and counting I never had to use this exit.
  24. Contact support about it. We are other users, and probably can’t troubleshoot this problem. Edit: As an idea: If you have the disk optimization active on the Mac, probably only a link to the file will be really stored on your Mac. The full content will only be on iCloud. Maybe EN can't force a download to the local storage, and displays an error. Just my 5ct ...
