  1. The change from the old „one account 2 views“ data structure to the „2 account structure“ was done years ago. If I am not mistaken this was changed way before the new clients were released in autumn 2020. The key documents were available from the beginning. Sure EN edited some of them later, to reflect the new plans. But Business just got a new name - the underlying data structure had been changed long before. As I already pointed out, for a long time EN did not force account holders to make the switch. You had to switch when you wanted the new features, however.
  2. EN AFAIK has no local AI processing on the clients. All advanced functions run on the server. The clients are probably too diverse in their abilities to rely on local AI. You can contact support, or use an external scanner and import the result into EN. Some like ScannerPro by readdle even have very nice collaborative features: You create the scan, then share and select a predefined workflow. It has a notebook plus a set of standard tags. For me about 80% of the scans don’t need to be touched again after the note was automatically created.
  3. +1 for a complete reinstall, if for whatever reason it must be the AppStore version. I am not sure if everything is removed when uninstalling the AppStore version with MacOS tools. With the direct download it is not. To run a really complete uninstall I use the app AppCleaner, and make sure all elements are ticked. Then a restart, and the reinstall. After installing go through system settings, Security, tab Privacy. Go through every step and make sure any EN position is selected. Important for the function is full disk access and screen recording, among others.
  4. Since desktop, web and mobile are different solutions: To which client / on which OS do you refer ?
  5. Currently out of further ideas. What you could try: Interrupt the editing for a moment, open another note briefly, then go back to the first one. Just to see if a) this changes something (which would point to a syncing issue) and b) as a workaround. Further I would stay in contact with support.
  6. In case it is only the blocked IP, you could try to use a VPN service meanwhile. This will replace your actual IP with one from the VPN server. Another option could be a router reset, or a forced refresh of your routers IP. This will only work when your router has its own IPv4 address from your ISP. Since IPv4 is running short on address space, you may be in a shared IPv4 address block, or even on IPv6 already (unlikely).
  7. Hi @Dave-in-Decatur , talking through the flower now (you understand when translating to German) ? Personally I doubt we will see a release of v10 for older Android devices. They would need a framework that supports it, and as time goes by, the number of unsupported devices is dwindling. I think they really should focus on sorting out the „new“ Android client, instead of having 2 clients with trouble. From the last posts on Android I got the impression they may be on a good path with the latest releases.
  8. Can‘t confirm this observation, not by far. EN is in the Top 5 of my apps in terms of energy use, which I would expect based on usage. Number 1 for me is usually Safari (too much time in the forum, I think 😉 ). I usually get through the day with one charge, and have a comfortable margin left. Any specific use of EN, or does it happen no matter what you are doing ? Next steps for me in such a case would be to log out, switch the device completely off (to clean out the RAM), on again (Apple logo must show) and log back in. If this does not help the next step would be the same, but with an uninstall of the app after logging out. Dump data when asked. This will rebuild the local database from the server. Hint: If you have offline notebooks, you will have to download them again (which is a PITA). Or ask support. Little anecdote: Sometimes the SONOS S1 app is a battery front runner on my iPhone. When it shows on the lock screen it really goes hard on the battery. Clear case of comfort (I use the iPhone as remote control) vs. battery use. It does nothing except updating what is currently playing, and waits for my input.
  9. You can search in the forum for „symlink“ or symbolic link. If you don‘t find it for Windows (I found some for the Mac, but it works in Windows as well), you can do the same in any search engine for some general tutorials. It is basically a pointer on the OS level that is placed where the app expects its data, and guides it to another place. This can be on another drive, or even on a network server (which I think should be avoided for EN).
  10. As another user, I share your frustration about such a bug. Hope they get it sorted out.
  11. Truth lies in the eye of the beholder. EN up to my observation does not release new features without the help documents. I posted the 4 documents I found to be most relevant, out of 150 you get in total when searching for Business in the EN database. To get release dates you may ask EN support. We have some (but not many) postings in the forum about separating the old business account into the split structure with the new EN Business/teams. There are 2 main issues: One believe (against the legal situation) that the step was not necessary, the others claim that notes were moved to the wrong account. It showed in the discussion that usually the business and private data in the old account had not been kept separate. The data could be located in the „other“ account. I don‘t remember a permanent loss of data. These threads show as well that the migration strategy has been in place when the new structure was rolled out, and that it worked. The shift was going on for several years, because EN initially forced nobody to make the move. About your own role: I do not intend to offend you by pointing to some IMHO pretty obvious points. But without feedback no improvement. One is that the use of Business for such a small group of persons was likely overkill. The other (linked to the first) is that the admin role was probably lived out in reality more as a „light admin“, comparable to every user managing his own account. For a very small number of account users the business admin will not really need to work. As an example: How do you set up a „Space“ when there are only 2 or 3 users ? This low admin input probably then showed in the transition problems. Just my view as another user - take it as you wish, or ignore.
  12. There might be some data corruption of the local database. To replace it with a fresh copy, this is the procedure: Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“ Log out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q). When asked confirm "Remove Data from This Device". If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync. Let the initial download run, and leave the app open. It will take a while to download the full content, for offline use. On my MacBook Pro I don’t have any lagging, even on larger notes.
  13. You are running a pretty aged version (probably of the Windows client). Probably the best method in this case would be to go to the EN website and download the new client. Since there may be different installation situations, you should read this help document first: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061882314 If then in doubt, contact support.
  14. Not sure about the technical side, but usually you pay the full amount for the new subscription. A few days later the unused part of your old subscription will be refunded. About how to process it through the AppStore you should contact support - choose the ticket type "Billing".
  15. There is no way you can "teach" anything to the scanning mode. Maybe it is self teaching, but I doubt it. What you can do: Change the document type from business card to Document before saving it to create the new note. It will then save as a regular picture.
  16. Check the server situation yourself, 24/7 if you want: https://status.evernote.com/
  17. There was a migration path, and there was a lot of documentation. Just a little reading stuff: This document describes the migration from old to new business accounts, step by step: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409187718931 This document helps with the new account structure: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006310828 Here is a Quick Start guide: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314358 This document is for the admin job: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005497 To wrap it up, EN Teams (Business) is made to set up structures for companies and organizations. What you describe is likely at the low edge of that model - too few participants to really make use of the features specific to the Business / Teams plan. So probably you were admin of that account (because there needs to be one), but it seems the admin job was not really filled. Otherwise IMHO it would have been a no brainer to make the switch. AFAIK no account was ever converted without the owner and admin being informed. Maybe you did not take it serious enough, but I am pretty sure it was announced, and you confirmed it before it was executed (see the migration help document). EN made the right move to set up a new data model that is compliant with security and privacy rules and legislation. Probably your use case was not typical for this use, because it was out of scope for the Business accounts in general. From what you told a (then) Premium or (today) Professional account, plus a Free account for you single employee would have done the job as well. The milk was spilled, it seems.
  18. This symbol is toggling the "perfect shape" mode on and off. When drawing a shape, it may look like a child did - or the system kicks in and transforms it into a perfect circle, triangle or square. From my experience the triangle is sort of fidgety - it decides itself if it wants to do something.
  19. Can offer you the train ride between my home town and Hamburg. You will loose internet connection 4 times, like on a clockwork. This is a typical situation where today I need to go offline to avoid hiccups while using EN.
  20. It would be a rare action to remove an app entirely. Normally a detection will be quarantined, the user notified - and can redo the movement.
  21. To ask EN directly for something, use the feedback function of the clients, or issue a support ticket.
  22. Just out of curiosity: What sort of malware protection are you using ?
  23. If you believe it does, what does the battery tab in iOS settings tell ? Mine says yes, it uses battery charge when in long use - wow, what a surprise … it tells as well that when I use Safari to browse, it will consume charge. This is what happens when you use an app to move data around. Personally I only call an app excessive in its battery use, when a) it makes my device shut down prematurely, which EN does not, or b) when it uses a lot of charge, but apparently is not in use or active. EN uses NO energy when not active, and it uses an IMHO reasonable share of the battery charge when in active use. Remember as well that when your battery is aging, the total charge is reduced. So it may be an app consumes more battery over time - in this case check whether it really is the app. It may be it is the battery that provides less energy in total. In this case the percentage of the battery an app uses goes up, because the battery holds less and less energy.
  24. EN has developed an app that works more or less independent from the platform used - if the platform is potent enough to run the underlying framework, that is. You can ask for everything, but the idea that EN will develop and maintain another app just to let people with low powered hardware allow to run a stripped down version of the app is completely out of the development path we (as other users) can see. In my opinion you need another solution for your use case than to talk EN into such an adventure. They will not move, is my prediction. However, my opinion. You can ask EN for everything by using the feedback function in the clients.
  25. The old „business“ accounts had 2 sections under one account, company and personal. Although it was easier to handle notes between the two, it had some sever shortcomings. First it did not clearly separate between company and personal data. In case a user left the company it was not clear what he could take with him, and what had to stay. Don‘t tell me „Haw, haw, but I‘m the owner, nobody will fire me“ - what if you decide you will sell, or if the company goes belly up, and you are not allowed to take any data with you ? Second the Admin necessary for company use could not be effective, or in case he was, he had control of personal data as well. So EN redesigned the business (later renamed Teams) account. When an old account was split between the new company (Business/Teams) and the new personal (Personal) account, it tried to split data correctly between the two. Who had set it up according to the design, and kept it cleanly separat probably had no problems. Who had mixed things up did have problems. But no data got lost - it may just be that a notebook expected in the Personal or the Business section ended up in the other pool. In this case the data needs to be moved to the right side of the split. Who says only a part of his data showed up in his account (Singular, means there is only one) has not understood the split, and has somehow managed to loose access to the second account. Talking to support and the admin of the business account should do to sort it out.
