  1. Android does have a Sync button (botto of the settings menu). If Windows and the web are the same then the data is clearly getting to the server ok
  2. Valid point. I always have my notes in created order so I know that a new note will be at the top and easily accessible with the {Home} key. Obviously other sort orders will suit other people. It will always be the top note in "recent notes" though.
  3. You've posted this in the Androd forum but it looks more desktop to me, although I could of course be wrong. The way to do this, which works and is quicker, is to drag the attachment directly into the note list. If you want it in a particular notebook select that notebook first. If you have "Notes" selected it will go into your default notebook. The new note is created automatically (saving you that step) with the title of the note as the title of the file.
  4. Just a few hints that might be helpful, adding to the great responses you've already had The advantage of using underscores rather than spaces in tag names, is that you don't need the quotation marks. alt+F2 (Windows but there will be a mac equivalent) takes you straight to the filter menu with the tags section already open. Beware though that there is a bug, that comes and goes with different versions, which clears the search field when you do this. Don't forget that with the search syntax you can choose to have any or all of the tags. Also now Boolean search is available for everybody it's much simpler to build up complex searches (although it doesn't really add much capability to the existing any: term). For example tag:tag1 AND (tag:tag2 OR tag:tag3)
  5. I too very much miss this functionality. Why do I need to open the filter menu to find a tag when I can see the tag I want to add to the filter in the sidebar? alt+F2 (Windows) is handy as it opens the filter menu directly in the tags section. I actually have an autohotkey script (Windows only) that allows me to hover over a tag in the sidebar and add it to the search using the tag:tagName advanced search syntax. I also have shortcuts that add specific, much used tags (like $pinned), in the same format. These are at the top of my tag structure (hence the $) and used to be so easty to add to a search in legacy.
  6. Takes a few seconds for me, which is acceptable (for me). You could try using intitle: before the search word and see if that helps If it's a recent note you can also use the recent notes list. View 🢂 Show recent notes in the sidebar. They appear underneath shortucts so you have to expand the sortcuts section if you haven't already. However, this won't actually give you anything that notes, sorted by updated doesn't. For what you are doing you might be better having the notes list because you can simply drag the note from the note list into the note to make the link.
  7. I guess that is one of the very few things for which there isn't a markdown or keyboard shortcut (but I guess there should be). Thanks for taking the time to explain.
  8. This view is very annoying and it occurs in a number of different situations. As you also realise it is impossible to get out of the view into the normal view with the note highlighted.. In the specific case of searching it only occurs if you use one of EN's suggested searches. If you ignore the suggested searches and just run the search by hitting enter you will get the normal view and the notes found should include the note you want surrounded by other notes that meet the search criteria. It also depends what you mean by "context". You can go directly to the notebook or filter by one of the tags directly from the note in whatever view it is in. However, there is no obvious way of selecting all the notes that were created or edited around the same time. You would need to note the date and then filter or search around that date.
  9. but the filter includes both the parent and the target note. Whatever the explanation it definitely needs fixing.
  10. Thanks for your input. Your experience is very much the same as mine. I'm not sure that I fully accept your explanation though. If I have a filtered list and click a link to another note in the filtered list it still doesn't work. At the beginning of the year EN said they would be focussing on the many small bugs that frustrate users. So maybe this will get fixed eventually. https://evernote.com/blog/2023-recap
  11. This has been noted before. We are just other users so please feedback to EN directlyby raising a technical support ticket. The good news is that if instead of renaming directly from the sidebar you open the notebook panel, and rename from there, it behaves as you would expect.
  12. Completely agree. I have actually implemented my own solution in Autohotkey (Windows only I'm afraid). If I type #### or 4# and then {space} infront of the header text it returns it to normal text. The steps are basically select the text cut it paste back in using "paste and match style"
  13. We need some context. For me: If I click a link from a note when I am in a notebook or in "Notes" with no filter or search applied the link works correctly If I filter (for me that is typically filtering by a single tag) the link goes somewhere else, often the homescreen or nothing happens. Sometimes the back button then goes to the correct link. Opening the link in a new window (ctrl+click on Windows) always works. Is your experience the same?
  14. I'm intrigued to know what you mainly use the insert menu for. I never use it because the biggest efficiency improvement for me is to use other methods (often what EN call Auto formatting, but I would desctibe as pseudo-markdown).
  15. Well you are certainly not on a server all by yourself and nobody else is reporting the problems you are reporting. Therefore it is almost certainly something to do with either your instalation of EN on everyone of your devices (I agree this seems unlikely) or your internet or your account. I'm not sure there is much we can do to help with that and you will need to hope that EN support do eventually get back to you.or some background process that runs on the servers sometimes sorts it all by itself.
  16. Lots of ways. The most intuitive to me are 1. Hover over the note title in the breadcrumbs (also alt+shift+M) 2. Drag the note from the note list onto the notebook in the sidebar
  17. And I assume you have tried my suggestion.
  18. No, those are supposed to be the keyboard shortcuts for move back and move forward arrows.
  19. We're just fellow users here. If you want to ensure EN get the message you can feedback to them directly at feedback@evernote.com
  20. No problems for me either. I suppose you could try deleting all the site data (cookies, cache etc) on your browser. It will depend on your browser but for Chrome you click the icon to left of the url Then remove the data (there will be several MB). You will then need to login again.
  21. I think all the markdown type formatting commands requirte a real hitting of the space bar, enter or tab rather than a pasted character. I haven't used textexpander but you should see if it is possible to emulate sending a key stroke with textexpander.
  22. I disagree. If you want to do a proper search you have the edit tags menu as you describe. I normally know what my tag begins with so I'm very happy to only have tags beginning with those characters. If I'm looking for "outdoors" and type "out" I don't want "youtube" and "scout"
  23. I think the arrows disappeared between 10.80.2 and 10.80.3. In their enthusiasm for goiung back to a traditional windows menu rather than the hamburger perhaps they forgot about the arrows? Quick reminder of the keyboard shortcuts. Alt + {left arrow} and Alt + {right arrow}
  24. @Razmataz Here's a bonus script! I like the ability to filter based on a tag in a note This resets any search or filter already in place which is often fine. However sometimes I want to add the tag filter to my existing search/filter without having to go and find the tag in the filter menu. If you click on a tag in a note and then run this script (ctrl+shift+b) it adds tag:tag_name to the search bar and then runs the modified search. Because of the current restriction on filtering and then searching you might need to convert a filter into a search first. Because 99% of my filters are just for tags the following sequence works for me Run the script on the tag which is currently being used in the filter Delete the filter (blue lozenge) as this is now duplicated by the search string Run the script on the tag you want to add to the filter Obviously the best thing at the moment, for maximum flexibility, is never filter - always use the advanced search syntax. ^+b:: { SetKeyDelay 60 sendEvent "^c" Sleep 500 sendEvent "!^f" SendEvent " tag:^v{Enter}" }
  25. That sounds like the fact that some versions reset the note width setting. From the top menu: tools 🢂 settings 🢂 notes. Scroll to the bottom and select "Fit to Window"
