Trouble removing shared notebooks
Dave-in-Decatur replied to cab12345's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi, and welcome to the forums. These are user-to-user, so we can only report what others have experienced. Are these notebooks that you shared with someone else? You should be able to "un-share" them, I think. If they're notebooks that someone else share with you, then you have to get them to do the un-share. This has been a problem for many years, frankly. -

Web Clip - Access Offline / Dead Link
Dave-in-Decatur replied to jlg326's topic in Evernote General Discussions
In my experience, recipe Websites can be a real mess to access. They want you to go through their endless descriptions and family reunion photos and ad links and videos before showing you the recipe text. But Evernote's Web clipper now allows you to clip in Multi-Select mode, which would let you just grab, say, the title and the recipe. It's really very flexible, but it takes a minute of mousing around sometimes to get it to select just the piece that you want. I would think that those bits of basically just text would be permanent in Evernote. -
Collapsible sections coming to Evernote

I had the same thing happen when I updated to 10.79. I had to quit Evernote (File > Quit) and restart, and the / menu came back. -
Collapsible sections coming to Evernote
Dave-in-Decatur replied to ferol's topic in Evernote General Discussions
First time in a long time that I've determined to skip an Evernote update with all my might. I actually might like collapsible sections, but they're way down on my needs list. Keyboard shortcuts, though, and keyboard accessible menus. -
How to turn off the "/" shortcut

Hi, and welcome to the forums. We're other users here, experiencing the same as you. To speak to Evernote about quality control, or other issues: feedback@evernote.com. -
Possible to get support from a human?
Dave-in-Decatur replied to Tejprulle's topic in Evernote General Discussions
feedback@evernote.com. Can't swear how much attention they pay, but that's the way to make contact. FWIW, you won't be the first one requesting this, and I agree with you, though I can pay the price for my purposes. If you were only paying $50 (let alone $35), you were on a grandfathered price plan that has gone away, which is why the increase is so drastic. Personally, I appreciate what you're doing (I can imagine doing something similar some day). I wonder if any of the other residents would be willing to chip in a few bucks to keep it going. -
So that means Files would essentially be a searchable assemblage of all your attachments? Maybe, depending on how it's implemented, a (marginally?) easier way to find an attachment or some information in it than regular search and filtering. I'd like to hear what some of the many users who use Evernote as a filing system think.

Lost notebooks after upgrade
Dave-in-Decatur replied to tigger3's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Great to know! Services that require login with an email address can be a mess if you have to use a company address and that changes. Glad it's straightened out. -
Same for me. I haven't found it too much of a problem, but I don't merge notes often, and I don't have a business to run. I think a configurable setting for merge defaults is a good idea, and then maybe 2 merge icons on that little ribbon menu that appears when motes are selected: Merge (default settings) and Merge (adjust settings)--since once in awhile you might want to do something different. Suggestions can go here: feedback@evernote.com.

The 10.80 release notes (https://evernote.com/release-notes) say an issue with pasting was fixed. Don't know if it was this one. But be prepared for an unannounced surprise if you install it: the top-row menu bar will be gone, replaced with a 3-line hamburger menu, as reported in the thread on collapsible sections.

Yeah, I think that feedback button is supposed to open an email addressed to feedback@evernote.com in your default email app; if the app is not available for some reason it does nothing. Not a nice look. I'm willing to discuss missing features in v. 10, if it seems worthwhile to you. I don't know how recently you've looked at it, but a lot has been added over the last year or two; and some are there but relocated. But not everything is there, and I know that for some users some features are especially desirable.
