  1. Wow. Now that's taking convenience to a really inconvenient level. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that keyboard shortcuts for menu items no longer worked, e.g., Alt+F for File. You had to use Alt to activate the menu and tab or arrow back and forth. This is the next stage in the UI devolution, I guess. Taking your fingers off the keyboard and mousing through menu levels now becomes mandatory. 😡 EDIT: PS-- no mention of that in the release notes.
  2. From the official Help page: Note that there is no time limit expressed.
  3. For the non-consensual guinea pigs, you might want to report your experience and preferences, either to feedback@evernote.com or at https://waz9zvkd1f2.typeform.com/newuifeedback, or both.
  4. Is there any chance you accidentally logged in with the wrong email address or username? People do this all the time, and the result is a new, empty account. Check your login credentials to be sure you're in your existing account.
  5. But this feature request was first posted in 2012, 8 years before the newer version came out. As far as I remember, RTL hadn't worked right in the older versions for ages. But it hasn't been fixed in v. 10, and definitely needs to be addressed. It might be good for as many as possible to make this request to feedback@evernote.com also. @ferol, I know your wonderful list/table may be complete, but would it still be possible to add this? It's been over a decade, and the feature is absolutely essential for millions of users.
  6. Yes, while editing a note pressing Esc gets a blue box and no editing action. Pointless, IMHO. I found that when my laptop updated to 10.79.3, I had to quit and restart Evernote to regain the / command. Now wondering why I did that.
  7. @Razmataz, thanks for confirming. Yikes, that's weird. It should be reported to support, IMHO: https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action. AFAIK the only formal linkage between Evernote and Google is the calendar. Why should that be pulling in searches???
  8. Off topic, but for the benefit of people outside the U.S., or maybe for non-English speakers: even though I know what it's about and support the topic, the title of this thread always makes me want to think that it's about changing the screens in one's mobile home.
  9. Absolutely! Fortunately, I haven't gotten it. I took a screenshot of my current home page, so if I do I can explain to feedback@evernote.com exactly how really useless and ugly this is in comparison to what we've had.
  10. If it's still worth mentioning after all this, there's a keyboard shortcut for the Notes list: Ctrl+Alt+2. If you like KB shortcuts, Evernote 10 is still well equipped with them. Use Ctrl+/ (or click the keyboard icon at bottom left) to see the list; under Navigation there is a set of them used to view e.g. Tasks, Notebooks, etc.
  11. @Cathy Paradee, it might be possible to offer more helpful ideas if you could give any more detail about your procedures. If you're in a table, tab definitely takes you from cell to cell. I'm not familiar with working with "fields" in Evernote notes (and you're the second person lately who's asked about tabbing among them).
  12. There have been several other reports of this, maybe in this forum: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/53-evernote-general-discussions/. At any rate, searching around the forums should find one or two other threads--but I'm not sure if anyone found a solution. It's really mysterious, frankly. I hope those who experience this will report it to support: https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action.
  13. @Alessandra, apologies for continuing to drift the thread on you! But I feel I need to report to my friends here that in a few days, my wife and I are going to see Dylan on his current U.S. tour. I'll try to keep you all in mind!
  14. Hi, and welcome to the forums. For me, when I start the clipping, I get the dialog in your first screenshot, but it shows my default notebook, and pressing the > takes me to my full notebook list. If I just tap Save, it clips to the default notebook. If this isn't working for you, my first suggestion would be to uninstall the app and reinstall it. If you have any notes or notebooks saved as available offline, be sure they are synced before you uninstall.
  15. Since this seems to be a widespread problem, I hope everyone who encounters it will report it to Evernote support if they are able. In the app (if you can keep it working!): Settings > Support; online: https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action. If all else fails: feedback@evernote.com.
  16. I've seen that Evernote often pastes in header styles, even when using Paste and Match Style / Ctrl+Shift+V. These can get interpreted as Medium or Larger Header in Evernote's system. Selecting and changing to Normal Text fixes this. It's a bit of an aggravation. WRT what "we" have done, please recall that these are user-to-user forums. None of us took your money. You can talk to Evernote at feedback@evernote.com. Of course, that was over 3 years ago. I don't think it was meant to be a promise forever and ever, especially after Evernote introduced the new note structure to facilitate the new sync method--which Legacy couldn't use, necessitating a duplicated storage of data that couldn't keep on indefinitely. At least, so I understand it.
  17. For me, on Windows, a / followed by a backspace just deletes the /, and when I type it again I get the menu. Is it different on the Mac?
  18. I'm on 10.79.1, and sadly I'm not seeing speed increases. TBC, working on notes has generally been fast enough for me already. But what I do see is that whenever I switch to Evernote from another app, it flashes once or twice as it syncs with edits made on other devices. This definitely slow things down, and if I've come to EN from a link in another app or a widget, the note I'm coming to will fail to open until I try a second time. Under discussion in the Android forum:
  19. In Evernote, at least for me, Esc "escapes" the editing function altogether and leaves you in some kind of limbo where no keyboard input does anything.
  20. @jjjjjjjjjjjjjikhkl and others who are just coming to v. 10 from Legacy, just FYI the / popup is not an original feature of v. 10. It only showed up in the last week or two. Hopefully they are getting our feedback@evernote.com and will refine this. E.g. make it work with Ctrl+/ Alt+/, not every / you type; and assume that after the first 5 minutes, we've got the idea and don't need the reminder. EDIT: Ctrl+/ is already in use to access the keyboard shortcut list/dialog.
  21. At present, links to other notes can be created by: clicking the blue + at top left; pressing Ctrl+Alt+K; and now (just added) by pressing / and then selecting Note link from the menu. That's as handy as I need, personally. I hope they will not start making us learn Markdown. BTW, these are user to user forums. To address suggestions to Evernote directly: feedback@evernote.com.
  22. Material clipped from Web pages, and some other material e.g. from emails, gets put into an "HTML box." There's a gray bar at the top of the box labeled "Web Clip." If you click on that bar, a little popup appears with a "magic wand" icon, a "visit source" icon, and a ... menu with these and other options. Clicking on the magic wand will simplify the formatting. Once that is done, the clipped material is completely editable. The simplification can be reversed with Ctrl+Z / Undo. The results can be a little unpredictable (since Evernote can't always predict what will be in a clip), such as lots of links showing up. The other option is to select material within the box, copy it, and paste it into the body of the note.
