  1. So that means Files would essentially be a searchable assemblage of all your attachments? Maybe, depending on how it's implemented, a (marginally?) easier way to find an attachment or some information in it than regular search and filtering. I'd like to hear what some of the many users who use Evernote as a filing system think.
  2. Why read the actual explanations that have been given over and over again (starting here) when you can rant about being mistreated? 🙄
  3. Great to know! Services that require login with an email address can be a mess if you have to use a company address and that changes. Glad it's straightened out.
  4. Brilliant catch! I couldn't figure out what it was for, and it looks like it will indeed be useful. Still doesn't eliminate the / menu when I don't want it.
  5. Same for me. I haven't found it too much of a problem, but I don't merge notes often, and I don't have a business to run. I think a configurable setting for merge defaults is a good idea, and then maybe 2 merge icons on that little ribbon menu that appears when motes are selected: Merge (default settings) and Merge (adjust settings)--since once in awhile you might want to do something different. Suggestions can go here: feedback@evernote.com.
  6. @ChristianJB spotted it: without announcement in the release notes, the new version 10.80, which introduces collapsible sections, apparently also replaces the menu bar across the top with a 3-line menu at top left. Less keyboard, more mouse. 😝
  7. The 10.80 release notes (https://evernote.com/release-notes) say an issue with pasting was fixed. Don't know if it was this one. But be prepared for an unannounced surprise if you install it: the top-row menu bar will be gone, replaced with a 3-line hamburger menu, as reported in the thread on collapsible sections.
  8. Yeah, I think that feedback button is supposed to open an email addressed to feedback@evernote.com in your default email app; if the app is not available for some reason it does nothing. Not a nice look. I'm willing to discuss missing features in v. 10, if it seems worthwhile to you. I don't know how recently you've looked at it, but a lot has been added over the last year or two; and some are there but relocated. But not everything is there, and I know that for some users some features are especially desirable.
  9. Wow. Now that's taking convenience to a really inconvenient level. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that keyboard shortcuts for menu items no longer worked, e.g., Alt+F for File. You had to use Alt to activate the menu and tab or arrow back and forth. This is the next stage in the UI devolution, I guess. Taking your fingers off the keyboard and mousing through menu levels now becomes mandatory. 😡 EDIT: PS-- no mention of that in the release notes.
  10. From the official Help page: Note that there is no time limit expressed.
  11. For the non-consensual guinea pigs, you might want to report your experience and preferences, either to feedback@evernote.com or at https://waz9zvkd1f2.typeform.com/newuifeedback, or both.
  12. Is there any chance you accidentally logged in with the wrong email address or username? People do this all the time, and the result is a new, empty account. Check your login credentials to be sure you're in your existing account.
  13. But this feature request was first posted in 2012, 8 years before the newer version came out. As far as I remember, RTL hadn't worked right in the older versions for ages. But it hasn't been fixed in v. 10, and definitely needs to be addressed. It might be good for as many as possible to make this request to feedback@evernote.com also. @ferol, I know your wonderful list/table may be complete, but would it still be possible to add this? It's been over a decade, and the feature is absolutely essential for millions of users.
  14. Yes, while editing a note pressing Esc gets a blue box and no editing action. Pointless, IMHO. I found that when my laptop updated to 10.79.3, I had to quit and restart Evernote to regain the / command. Now wondering why I did that.
  15. @Razmataz, thanks for confirming. Yikes, that's weird. It should be reported to support, IMHO: https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action. AFAIK the only formal linkage between Evernote and Google is the calendar. Why should that be pulling in searches???
  16. Off topic, but for the benefit of people outside the U.S., or maybe for non-English speakers: even though I know what it's about and support the topic, the title of this thread always makes me want to think that it's about changing the screens in one's mobile home.
  17. Absolutely! Fortunately, I haven't gotten it. I took a screenshot of my current home page, so if I do I can explain to feedback@evernote.com exactly how really useless and ugly this is in comparison to what we've had.
  18. If it's still worth mentioning after all this, there's a keyboard shortcut for the Notes list: Ctrl+Alt+2. If you like KB shortcuts, Evernote 10 is still well equipped with them. Use Ctrl+/ (or click the keyboard icon at bottom left) to see the list; under Navigation there is a set of them used to view e.g. Tasks, Notebooks, etc.
  19. @Cathy Paradee, it might be possible to offer more helpful ideas if you could give any more detail about your procedures. If you're in a table, tab definitely takes you from cell to cell. I'm not familiar with working with "fields" in Evernote notes (and you're the second person lately who's asked about tabbing among them).
  20. There have been several other reports of this, maybe in this forum: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/53-evernote-general-discussions/. At any rate, searching around the forums should find one or two other threads--but I'm not sure if anyone found a solution. It's really mysterious, frankly. I hope those who experience this will report it to support: https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action.
  21. @Alessandra, apologies for continuing to drift the thread on you! But I feel I need to report to my friends here that in a few days, my wife and I are going to see Dylan on his current U.S. tour. I'll try to keep you all in mind!
  22. Hi, and welcome to the forums. For me, when I start the clipping, I get the dialog in your first screenshot, but it shows my default notebook, and pressing the > takes me to my full notebook list. If I just tap Save, it clips to the default notebook. If this isn't working for you, my first suggestion would be to uninstall the app and reinstall it. If you have any notes or notebooks saved as available offline, be sure they are synced before you uninstall.
