  1. Actually, I was really quite straightforward when I set it up. I hva eeverything scheduled to run once a week and it just updates the local backup to stay in sync with the cloud. The program is based on the Evernote code from Legacy but designed to run on its own. As for Local Notebooks. They will be idetifiable in the Legacy program - I think in the Notebook menu. v10 should also warn you if it finds any when you are installing.
  2. My opinion... Do you really NEED to backup your notebooks? Probably not. But it is definitely a belt-and-braces approach just in case. However, I would make a final sync with V6 (Legacy). Then check via the web client that all your data is on the server. If it is, then I would say that you are good to go with V10 which will build your data from the server. You might want to review how you will make backups in the future. The evernote-backup program from GitHub will do this an d the process can create the notebook ENEX files. Do that first and you will have the ENEX files should they be needed. Local notebooks should be exported as ENEX before the switch.
  3. Your EXB file was fully synchronised when you hit the sync button. You can delete the old Legacy program and it's data whenever you wish.
  4. Be sure that that you have synchronised the Legacy data. When you install v10 it will uninstall the Legacy program but will not delete the EXB file. You can do the manually when you are ready. The v10 data is stored at a default location %LocalAppData%\Programs\Evernote Or C:\Users\[PC Name]\Evernote\Databases In the settings you can opt to move it to a directory of your choice. Always best to use an SSD drive if possible.
  5. v10 of Evernote does not use the EXB file. (EXB is the data format for the old Legacy program which will stop working in Leeds than two weeks.) Once you switch to v10 it will create its own local data files. If you use the v10 desktop application it will create a local copy of everything. BUT this has to be synchronised with the Evernote servers. You don't have to use the web client but you do have to sync with the cloud.
  6. I think that this was originally a Windows desktop issue 7 months ago when the reinstall option was likely a good call. I'm not sure your circumstances would lead to the same conclusion as you also surmise. Try the iOS threads and see if any other users there have a similar experience.
  7. I anticipate that there is a trial underway to see how users react.
  8. This Google Drive issue has been reported amongst Evernote Experts. Definitely a bug to be reported.
  9. How many notebooks do you have? More than one is also a limit.
  10. When importing from any ENEX file whether created from Legacy, v10 or evernote-backup they are treated as new notes so the dates will be updated. Evernote-backup breaks the backup into individual notebooks making it much less likely that the import will breach data upload limits. The old Legacy all note backup easily breached the limits making them impossible to import.
  11. I'm not aware that there are periods of recruitment nor anything planned at the present time.
  12. There is no means of joining the final test for the Outlook Calendar linking. It will reach everyone over a period as it is gradually released. Check settings, Calendar, to see if it has reached you yet.
  13. Sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for asking the question. It alerted me to the fact that my evernote-backup auth-token had expired so my backups were not complete. So had to fix the errors first. In answer to your question... I thought I was importing an ENEX from evernote-backup but it now is evident that I wasn't. I happened to have a random ENEX file in the directory which I presume was a direct export from the desktop app and not evernote-backup. Having fixed my auth-token and cleaned out the older ENEX files I now find my experience to be as everyone else. Sorry to have raised hopes. (Reminder to self to renew the auth-tag in 12 months - I've got an app that will do that for me )
  14. Well perhaps it depends upon how the note is imported. I just checked and tried again. I dragged the ENEX file into the Notebook and it appeared just as wanted and exepected. I also tried the File, Import menu and got the same result. So, for me, working absolutely as I would expect. (Screen shot is the imported note) 10.77.3-win-ddl-public (20240221121132) Editor: v177.3.2 Service: v1.93.3 Win 11 Pro
  15. Actually for backup the API doesn't need to be updated to connect Tasks since the Tasks are embedded within notes. I just checked. I exported a note containing a task and a calendar from my main account. I then opened my empty Free account and the note imported straight into that. All the Tasks displayed as expected as did the calendar entry. What the API will need to the ability to add and export Tasks from Evernote to link to other applications. So my evernote-backup ENEX files will recreate the tasks etc. Glad to have been nudged to check. A backup process that doesn't restore is no backup at all 😖
  16. I avoided the suggestion that you update your phone
  17. This must be very frustrating but I fear that you will need to make an urgent plan to export your data and find an alternative product.
  18. We all think so but I don't know if anyone has tried it. On Windows there are several directories you'll need to capture %LocalAppData%\Programs\Evernote is the key one. I think you should try it out. But I'd contend the evernote-backup routine which captures all your notes
  19. I asked about continued access to the API for evernote-backup and was assured it would continue. The easiest way of moving local notes on Legacy is to move the notes into an online notebook and sync before installing v10. For a free account user export each notebook to a local ENEX. My understanding is that exiting from v10 requires a note to be downloaded to PC. But if a user has chosen not to keep local copies it will be removed next time the application is closed.
  20. New options for Free users. Rolling out from tomorrow.
  21. Well I will apologise. I was simply saying that there aren't phone numbers unless they're on the website. Not intended to be aggressive but obviously taken as such. For that you have my apology and no further interaction.
  22. The only pen support offered, in the past, was the Penultimate app for the Apple ecosystem. That's been withdrawn from sale since December so I suspect that's an indication that there's nothing coming. Other pen users seem to recommend independent apps and then importing into Evernote.
  23. If there are no numbers on the website then there is nothing available.
