Did you really contact support ? How did you try to reach them. Have you ever received a return mail with a ticket number ? What is your method of payment ? Credit card, or one of the stores like iTunes or PlayStore ?

Evernote keeps crashing
PinkElephant replied to Kitequeen's topic in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
This won’t help if the local database is corrupted. It is not removed by a normal uninstall. Get the app AppCleaner, use it to uninstall EN. In the removal window make sure to tick all components, including settings and data. Execute, restart the Mac, go to the EN website and install again. Log in, and after the app opens your account wait some until the initial download has taken place. -
No idea what you are talking about, screen clipping works through the helper symbol in the task bar, or through ctrl-alt-S. The difference to other tools is that it directly creates a note from the screenshot. If for example preparing a training document, you can easily create a series of notes, each holding a screenshot. You then select the notes, merge them (you can even change the sequence) and get a note for training use. Just one example why the helper function may be useful. If you don‘t find value in any subscription, cancel. You don‘t need an excuse to do so. Yay !

Evernote Won't allow me to upgrade!!
PinkElephant replied to Huggy_photo's question in General Technical Issues
You use the link I provided. You are asked to log in. You get at this page (see screenshot). You choose „Billings and Payments“, and continue the dialogue until you get a text field where you can describe your problem. You send it, which creates a support ticket. First you get an automatic answer confirming it was received. Some time later (usually a few hours) a support staff member will contact you, to help you through. My account and Billing & Payments can be used by all accounts, including Free. Technical issues is subscribers only. -
Welcome to the forum. It may be you are used to these app-specific abilities, but how many EN users are in that subgroup ? EN tries to keep the app simple, putting features in when they serve a large number of users. There are a bunch of keyboard shortcuts available in EN - more in desktop, less in mobile. They display through the keyboard symbol down in the left column, or in the help menu. Part of them are editable. Maybe check them out whether they can help you with your request. Else you can send any idea to EN directly using the feedback function in the clients.

Login goes to a black screen
PinkElephant replied to Ariggsby's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Give a try first through iOS settings: Disable dark mode in Display & Brightness. If this doesn’t help, you can uninstall the app. Then switch the iPhone off, wait some seconds, turn it on again (Apple logo must show), and reinstall. Log in, and wait the initial download of your notes to run through. If everything was working fine before updating, all your notes have been synced to the EN server, and are kept there. If you want to be sure (and on a subscription, because the web client is counted as another „device“) you can have a look at the server database by using the web client. -
Evernote Won't allow me to upgrade!!
PinkElephant replied to Huggy_photo's question in General Technical Issues
In general EN can be used with a Free account with limitations, but without a time limit. This means you already have an account. Then use this link to support, log in when asked. Choose billing as ticket type, describe your problem. Support will come back to you: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new The forum is user2user - we can’t help you any further. -
Remove duplicates from 'Recent notes'
PinkElephant replied to Andy Henderson's question in General Feature Requests
You did use them recently, so where is the problem ? Do we really need to complicate software to the max ? I don’t think so - it should be reduced to the core functionality. If you still think filtering recents is a good idea , just go ahead and send it directly to EN PM, using the feedback function build into the clients. And when implemented stay on watch in the forum to explain fellow users why some of their recently used notes won’t show up in „recently“ any more. -
Unable to unsubscribe from mailing list
PinkElephant replied to BTea's question in General Technical Issues
Go to your account page, tab personal settings. Uncheck everything in the email section you don’t want to receive. Your own settings here override any unsubscribe action. In addition Free users are subject to a certain quantity of reminders that heaven lies in subscribing. These can only be deactivated by turning into a believer, and paying believers fees. -
No way to disable "There's a new version of Evernote" popup
PinkElephant replied to loosedrag's question in General Feature Requests
Obviously yes - and I try to avoid running outdated software on my devices. Everybody who says „I don’t want to be notified every time …“ usually means „Never“. Most software avoids this, for good measure. When you open it, you get an update message if necessary. Open EN right when you start the computer, if notified, update. Yes, it is that simple. -
Toggle list
PinkElephant replied to ajschmidt's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
Obviously EN is doing fine without, else they might have implemented it a long time ago … If you want to add your vote to the request, use the voting function at the top of the thread. I did so quite a while ago … -
Your whole account is encrypted, password protected and if you activate it protected by a 2 factor authentication. On desktop you should use your own user account, with a password, and enable the disk encryption. On mobile the flash memory is encrypted by default, set a passcode and biometrical ID. If you take these measures - that protect all of your data, not only EN data - against whom do you want to protect your EN account ? Against yourself … ? If you use EN on a shared computer, or one under admin control the advise is simple: Never install own software on such a device. Use the EN web client, if possible in a private browser window. If you want to protect specific information: You can encrypt a text inside of a note. The text can be longer, but no formatting allowed (no bullets, checklists etc.). No attachments, no complete notes or notebooks. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005547 Hint: Never use EN to store sensitive information like bank account access, passwords or crypto wallets.

A note conflict will show the moment it happens, and should be sorted out right away. There is no search parameter or flag for conflicting notes. Since I have none, I can't check if you could simply search for the word "conflict" in the notes title, using the intitle: search operator.

Remove duplicates from 'Recent notes'
PinkElephant replied to Andy Henderson's question in General Feature Requests
Don't think this is logical. Shortcuts are static, they are there to stay, no matter which notes you open. One reason for this is that you can open any of the first shortcuts by typing ctrl/cmd + 1-9. This means you will probably remember the number, and by sorting the list or pushing notes off, this would not work any more. The "Recent Notes" list is dynamical. It may be you opened one of your shortcuts recently, but this is plain coincidental. -
Evernote Web Force Sync (or rebuild cache?)
PinkElephant replied to aukirk's topic in Web Client Issues
The web client links directly to the EN server - the master copy of your notes. There is no force sync, makes no sense. Sometimes a browser (depending on its settings) may have older content in its cache, and will not show the actual content. You can look up the cache, erase it, or refresh the browser tab. -
There is an email address listed for each EN account - maybe they forgot about it when always using the SSO login. Account information - Overview - Email Address Try a password reset using this Email address.

No way to disable "There's a new version of Evernote" popup
PinkElephant replied to loosedrag's question in General Feature Requests
There is an update every 2-3 weeks, and it is not mainly about bug fixes, it is about new features. Not updating software is never a good idea. Simply update when notified, and that's it. -
How to delete a shared note?
PinkElephant replied to douglerner's question in General Technical Issues
Maybe with the overhaul of the syncing process EN says they are working on, this problem will be finally solved. In itself it is not much, but these reminders of things past can be nagging. -
It should refresh itself automatically. If not: Hold down the alt/opt key before clicking on the Help menu. Select Troubleshooting. Select "Reload" or "Force Reload". Keyboard shortcuts are ctrl/strg-R and shift-ctrl/strg-R.

What is Note Conflict?
PinkElephant replied to rubikscube's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
This thread is about the Windows legacy version. If you run it: Fine. If not, please post in the correct subforum. -
No scripting will work with v10 - currently. I think the reason is the framework into which the app is embedded. It handles all traffic with the OS, and scripting is not among it. Apple script will not work, and Apple Shortcuts have stopped as well. If this will change one day: No idea. When I made a web search, no app based on the Electron framework advertised scripting as a feature.
