  1. To raise a ticket: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
  2. You will run out of notebooks, but before you will loose oversight. Working notebook only (or even primarily) is against the organizational concept of EN. As always it can be done, but it is neither efficient nor safe for the future, with growing volume and complexity of your data. Maybe search in the web for GTD Getting Things Done to get some ideas. If you feel better by notebooks, just go ahead, try how far it takes you. There is always a rainy weekend to reorganize.
  3. Tag:IndexNote added to the search term would do the job, if the tag is named IndexNote. You can even make it a saved search and create a shortcut, and if it is one of the first shortcuts (say the fourth), call it by typing ctrl/cmd - 4 . Then just add the search term, and hit enter.
  4. You can contact EN through the feedback function build into the clients. BTW, in my opinion far too many notebooks. You would probably not feel the need for a visual element if you would just drop all bills into a notebook called „Bills“, and do the rest by using search, or by tagging the notes. Since notebooks can’t be nested, you try to nest by creating your own index (03.12.2 …). No wonder you want additional visual options - far too many notebooks, without a reason. Tags can be nested, and there is an infinite level of nesting. You can search including or excluding tag levels nested below a tag specified for search. You could find all bills for „SSE“ by simply typing tag:SSE into the search field, or by clicking on a „SSE“ tag. And you will find out you don’t need pink notebooks any more.
  5. Then what you can try is to recover an older version of such a note, using note history. When you open the note, it is behind the 3 dots menu top right. Access to note history is a subscribers feature. You can reset to an older version, or create a copy of the note with the older version. The downside is you need todo this note by note, no bulk reset available. But first thing is to check if older, complete versions are available.
  6. Check on the web client if the photos are accessible on the cloud master copy of your data. Contact support. Good luck.
  7. EN apologists suggest to use the feedback function to communicate valuable ideas directly to EN PM. Posting in the forum will just make valuable ideas being ridiculed by EN apologists … Personally I expect EN staff to be fully aware about the backlinking hype. I think it was started by Roam Research, but I may be wrong. I don‘t think tags would replace it - the idea of tags is different from its basic concept (oooops, just disqualified myself as EN apologist 😱 ) You can link notes to each other since long. This got improved by adding „link through drag&drop“ with one of the latest updates. If you want backlinks, you can add another link into the target note to build backlinks yourself. More work, not as elegant, whatever.
  8. It probably depends on when a client got updated. There was a hint in the forum, I updated then, the DMG installer was available, but no official message in the forum or on the client. A day later I got the update message to „point 5“ when I opened the client for the day, plus the announcement in the forum. So I think they caught something last minute and decided to exchange the already available installer by a slightly altered version. I had no issues with neither version.
  9. About sync: The web clipper syncs through the API, directly to the server. No sync button ever had an influence on this. To make EN Mac reload from the server, push the command key plus R. This will make it check on the server if anything new is there. This syncing option is available through the help menu as well: Hold down the opt/alt key before opening the help menu. There is an additional option „Troubleshooting“ at the end of the menu list, behind which you find the Reload option and more. It may still take some minutes for a clip to show, because it needs to be processed by the server first. How fast depends on the queue on the server. You can check in the web client, which looks directly on the server data. You need to refresh the browser window every other second to see the latest changes. You can‘t expect this new content to show on each device in the same moment - it needs to transport the change there first. Syncing all devices needs a little time - some patience is the best method to avoid hiccups. This was the same with the old clients - you just had a sensation of activity while the sync wheel was spinning. It took its time as well - pure psychology if you felt better watching it.
  10. Still no EN here - the forum is user2user. To reach EN PM, you can use the feedback function in the clients. Or issue a support ticket. From what I see I would not wait for tabs to return to the desktop clients. You can use the „open note in a separate window“ function. Another option is the web client - in this case you need a different browser than Safari. Tabs are not supported in Safari.
  11. Well, Trip Mode is a small app for the Mac, build to control network traffic. The main use is to restrict volume data while on mobile or weak networks. The app symbol is a train, well picked 😂 . When activated it shows each app as it picks up network traffic. The app ranking is dynamically build from the network traffic generated. With a click the app is disabled. But it can be even when the main app is disabled, there is a back channel for example to check if online. Trip mode has profiles, so you can have it active all of the time. When at home, no restriction, on the train maybe browser traffic, but no services sensitive to ruptures, like EN. About the availability of attachments: When I compare the local folders of v10 and legacy, the legacy folder is slightly larger - but not to an extend that would be explained by missing attachments. We are talking about a 20% difference, and I use a lot of attachments.
  12. Sure EN tries to keep the local client data and the server always in sync - this is a cloud based service, and the local mobile clients do not hold a full copy of all data. Our installations all work snappy, except on the really old iOS devices we use as a backup or for „kitchen retrieval“. So maybe this is more a network than a device / client issue. How fast is your local network ?
  13. Sounds to me like a Teams account request - else the „user“ detail makes no sense. Then it is no „General request“, but a very specific, narrow feature request for Teams accounts. This should be send via support ticket to the Teams support group.
  14. It seems it is not the same - there must be another channel that is not blocked by TripMode. When going completely offline (cutting LAN and WiFi) it asked to export without attachments. With TripMode enabled it did export, but did not sync. Nothing of the changes made on the Mac client showed in the web client until I disabled blocking the EN traffic. But as I said - it probably believes to be online through another channel. So back to square 1: Ask support ...
  15. Just tried on my Mac: Opened EN 10.41.5 direct, cut online connection via TripMode app. Went to notebook view, 3 dots, export notebook. Export options window, ENEX selected, confirmed, and it exported just fine. Reimport worked as well, notes can be viewed and edited, attachments are opening. After going online, the offline ex- and imported notebook synced to the server, and was added to the master copy of my data (viewed in the web client). Technically one the Mac it works. But I second the idea to contact support.
  16. As said above, no issues on iOS, on different devices. Snappy, reliable. They can go ahead with new features - Apple Watch app somewhere in the making ? If you have problems: What does support say ?
  17. The problem in your case is the corrupted files have reached the master copy on the server. When removing the local copy, it will download a fresh copy from the server. When replacing the bad local data with the good copy, this may happen as well. The ENEX export/import creates new notes with new IDs. These will not be overwritten. About the selection: I would not be too selective when creating the ENEX files. Full notebook copy, then the selection limit does not play a role. Import a notebook, check it is ok, sync, check again on the server, and then delete the old one, holding corrupted notes. What makes me think: You say you have plenty of corrupted notes, in different notebooks. Why ? Maybe support should take a look before you try to restore. A single corrupted or duplicated note - OK, not good, but happens. But many ??? Unless you touch a note, it won’t sync, and won’t be corrupted. I don’t understand the mechanism leading to a large scale corruption. And this is something support should probably check out.
  18. First rule: Don't start EN on the Mac with "good" files while you are online. Go offline and stay offline for the next time. The usual way to solve this would be to use the "good" Macs EN client in offline mode. While offline you export the "good" set of notes to an ENEX file. Selecting them individually has a limit of selecting 50 notes at a time. If they are all in a notebook, you can export the whole notebook to an ENEX file. The ENEX files serve as backup of the good status. Once you have created them, quit the EN client on the "good" Mac. Make sure it is not running any more may looking it up in the activity monitor, or by other means. Now go online with that Mac again. Copy the ENEX file(s) to the "bad" Mac. Open the EN client and import the ENEX files. They will import as a new notebook each. The notes are new ones now. Wait to let them sync to the server. Check in the web client everything is there. Now you can delete the corrupted ones. Replace them by the good copies. This should work. There is a second way through the EN folder in the path you posted. But if it works through the ENEX file, it is the better way of restoring your old notes.
  19. We as other users do not know what sort of magic support will be able to unleash. I personally doubt they are able to recover a lost note, especially since it is now "2 weeks later". What you can try yourself - if you run a backup of your computer: You may be able to recover a note from this backup. But to know you need to tell more about your setup.
  20. The fun after doing it the „easy“ way will be forum posts like … deleted without notification … task locked, can’t edit … disappeared from XYZ view … Followed by … no QA … not thoroughly tested … how could it be released … The most amazing is: These posts will be from the same users that are today founding the easy-peasy-party.
  21. Free account … no support access. What you can try is this: Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out. Restart your computer. Sign back in to Evernote
  22. Looks as if something went bad with the local install. The easiest way of solving it is a complete uninstall: Get the app AppCleaner, run ist and use it to remove all parts of EN from your drive. Make sure to manually select all elements in the uninstall list. Execute, restart the Mac, reinstall and log in. A fresh download will start, fetching the necessary from the EN cloud server.
  23. Very simple: It can't be done - there is no "How". The notebook is a pretty transcended object in EN - kept simple for ease of use. What you can do looks like this:
  24. This means "read only" - not enough. And about what are you scared: Giving one account owned by you access to another account owned by you ?! Your options are clear: Allow and use it, disallow and don't use it. Fortunately I don't have this problem - I never give data to Google where I can avoid it. There is evidence enough that this is your real privacy problem when using Google Drive (... fill in any other service starting with the word "Google"). You don't seem to worry, however ?
  25. iOS got quite aggressive on preserving battery level, cutting off apps that try to perform in the background. This means syncing is axed by the OS shortly after locking up an iOS device. There is AFAIK no way around it - you need to keep the app active and the device unlocked until syncing is done.
