drag-and-drop bug
PinkElephant replied to johnshansen's topic in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
You don’t describe where you want to drop. If you intended a cliff hanger, you did everything right. Else you decide to tell only 50% of the story. -
New note dissappears
PinkElephant replied to jdsharp21's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
webm is a format that Google tries to push on the rest of the world. I am glad my iPad does not support it. Case closed, no further action. If you post something, use a generally accepted format like mp4. -
Penultimate/Evernote Sync
PinkElephant replied to amini1's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Penultimate syncs - if it doesn’t, uninstall, restart the iOS device, reinstall and connect with your EN account. Caution: Uninstalling will destroy everything you may have created, and stored unsynced just in the app. You can save by taking screenshots and saving them to the camera roll. These can be shared to EN if you wish. Support contact: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new or in the iOS app, settings, support -
The forum is user2user. Opinions are diverse, as are use cases and users. As long as we are within the forum Code of Conduct, any opinion can be posted here. I doubt any single opinion voiced here has any significant impact. We can only speculate about what conclusions EN staff draws from our discussion - if any … The direct communication with EN staff happens through the feedback function (which is channeled directly to EN PM, not answered) and support tickets / chat, which will be answered.

This method „put all tasks into one note“ IMHO runs contrary to the basic concept of tasks. The basic idea behind EN Tasks is to make notes actionable. This directly supports the GTD approach, that if centered about the „next action“ needed to advance a topic or project. You keep the content in a note, and use tasks to set and follow up the next action, or next actions. You could reach a better GTD implementation when using tasks as they are designed, not by trying to simulate a classical task manager inside of EN.

Heat is the end result of battery usage. You can check in iOS settings, battery which app consumes how much energy. It is a 24hr period, but you can easily setup a usage with and without EN to find out which share of the total ends up in that specific app. On my iOS devices EN is always in a range of low 1-digit consumption. The percentage is a fraction of the total consumed, not of the total charge available. Other apps may give a deeper insight. Furthermore I second the advise to contact support.

The thread title is completely misleading. Sure you can search and filter for multiple tags, notebooks, content, combining them among each other. I even like the new filter tool better than the old way of setting it up. The discussion is about a feature in legacy that reduced the available options once a first search / filter item was selected. It is nice, but quite obviously the vast majority of users have no problem that it has not surfaced in v10 yet. This, dear legacy addicts, makes it less and less probable that EN will feel an urge to code it for the new version. So if you want it, contact EN (that is not us other users in the forum) via feedback or support ticket. Beside this, legacy 7.14 is still working as before on my Mac.

The forum is user to user. I suggest you contact Evernote support.

Whatever you use, I can not even theoretically reproduce this behavior. iOS apps run in sandboxes, each app in its own little memory enclave, isolated from the device and other apps. An app can communicate with other apps when it is running in the foreground by sharing, and can be called by other apps through sharing. That's it. If you still want to talk to us bunch of ignorants (just other users, trying our best), post your device, iOS version and app version.

When there is a thumbnail, there have been that picture on that note at a point in time. The thumbnail is created on the server, which means the content has reached the server, and should be recorded in note history. To go back to this point in time, you need to access your Note History. It run for all accounts all the time, but access is a subscribers feature.

With Plus or Premium you are on the same level as Free, when new features are concerned. The grandfathered subscriptions only preserve those features that were already in the package when you subscribed, or when the new level were introduced. Since you are still on Premium, you have been on a rebated Premium all of the time, never paying the full Premium subscription price. So you still make a cut.

Note in Two Places
PinkElephant replied to john445's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Probably your local database is corrupted. Try this: Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out. Restart your computer. Sign back in to Evernote, keep the app open while it downloads your notes from the server -
Note says "shared" but I didn´t!
PinkElephant replied to hannaaase's question in General Technical Issues
See the screenshots. Why it looks different in your post: Please post your Plan, the platform/OS used and the EN client version number. Not shared: Shared: -
Note says "shared" but I didn´t!
PinkElephant replied to hannaaase's question in General Technical Issues
Did you check if it is shared at all (see the post from @Mike P) ? I think it was not shared, because the "shared" symbol is in grey outline. If a note was shared, it is solid green. -
Widgets fill half the screen on a 49inch Monitor
PinkElephant replied to mrage's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I thought the wide screen would be either for gamers, or to have several apps open on one screen, neatly arranged. The idea to have my Home dashboard spread out in front of me, sunrise to sunset, has up to now escaped my imagination. And I wouldn’t associate it with productivities next level, either. I second the advise to contact support. -
By default EN will show pdf in single page view (large pdfs as attachment). Click on the pdf, click on the little menu that appears on the top (desktop), and select all pages view. Or while hovering over the pdf, look out for arrows that appear at the bottom, to switch pages. If this does not solve your issue, come back and use more words to tell how you create the pdf, how you import it and why you think it has only one page. We like to read some good yarn …

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. To toggle autofiling on and off, go to your account settings, personal settings and enable/disable the autofiling option right below the language selection. When on, EN will try to guess the notebook. By switching it off the mails go to the default notebook. When you enable it, it will take some training until it starts to work.
