  1. I second the advise by @Dave-in-Decatur Here is some more advise. The help document about changing passwords contains a support link as well. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313998 https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004395487 In the future don’t hijack another thread by posting into a seemingly related thread. Open your own new thread, give it a proper thread title to avoid being overlooked with your issue.
  2. The points programs have long been discontinued. You need to contact EN support to be able to use points. It means to cancel your current subscription. Then you need to wait until it expires by itself. Support can then use your points to set up the subscription again. Once the points are consumed, you need to let it expire again. And then you subscribe again, using one of the normal payment methods. I know, because this was how my points were finally used up, 3 years ago. I am not sure whether it still works like this today. But support can tell.
  3. In this case find another service that does it all, plus shows your pdfs in all pages view. AFAIK EN decided to show small attachments in page by page, and large attachments in attachment view to reduce system load. If it would show in „all pages“ as a standard, all attachments (there can be more than only one) would need to be completely loaded when a note is just opened. This means the user has to wait until all pages of all attachments have been properly rendered, even if the user does not want to see any of them at all. In my opinion the current standard viewing option is a good compromise between usability and loading time. Not anybody needs to agree, however. You can contact EN about it by issuing a support ticket.
  4. It is the same with most apps I know that have a template option. They put the users templates into an own section, and more often than not it is the last section that displays in the templates view. I agree this could be improved, especially because you can’t preselect one of your own templates to the templates shortcuts. To reach EN staff, issue a support ticket, or use the feedback function.
  5. I wouldn’t say it is different in effect, but AFAIK deleting a notebook always send all notes in it to the trash. The notes could be restored from there, but only into a notebook. If you wanted them all in one separate notebook again, you needed to create that notebook first, and then restore the notes to that notebook. For me this has never changed, it was the same with legacy as with v10.
  6. Hmmm - this is not about notes you shared with somebody, it is about notes that somebody shared with you. But anyhow, you don’t share. Option 1: Log out of your account, close the app, restart the device, log back in. Option 2: The same, but now uninstall the app before restarting the device (dump all data when asked), then reinstall the app. Option 3: Ask support
  7. Why do you keep tags that are not in use ? Either you have already applied them (then this makes no sense), or you created them to apply them (then this makes no sense). I really don’t understand your use case with tags you create, but don’t want to use. Maybe you can explain what you do, and what you want to achieve.
  8. Free user or on a subscription ? For all users note history is running, but only subscribers (except Plus) can access note history, and recover older versions of a note. Before starting into this venture, check on the web client (counts as a device, so critical for Free users) which status the note has there.
  9. Do you have notes shared to you by others ? In this case there may be tags that originate from the shared content - and you can only add them to shared notes from the same owner, and in the same notebook as the original share. In all cases make sure you run the latest app version (10.36 on iOS) and iOS version.
  10. Don’t know either. And as another user dedicating time here, I have no motivation to run after you asking to post in a way that it is readable. You present your problem in a way that IS readable, or you „dick“ yourself. I really don’t care, it is up to you. Hint: If you searched the forum a little, you would probably find a post that might help you to solve the problem yourself. But sure, it is always easier to skip that step and expect fellow users will present the solution on a silver plate.
  11. Sure there is multi-device-sync: You have a Mac, you have iOS (1 device, or 2 ?), and you always have the web, which shows the master copy of your database. It is stored on the cloud server. EN never syncs device2device, it always syncs to the server, and from there to all clients. The first step with syncing issues is to take a look at the web client. Which notes exist there ? And which last update status ? Then there is note history, only on desktop clients (PC/Mac). You can restore older versions of the same note, or create a duplicate with an older version. With the iOS client there is a „sync now“ option in the app settings, synchronization, sync now. To me it seems there were some duplicates created somehow, and now by trying to solve the issue on the iOS client, you just create additional problems on the web client. In duplication cases the only copy that really counts is the one on the server, not on any device. To preserve changes made on a client, enter that note and copy the content somewhere else (Apple Notes is a good place to park such content …). If the already existing situation is beyond repair, on iOS I would then log out and back in. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, log out, uninstall the app, dump all data when asked, switch the iOS device off, wait a little, on again (Apple logo must show), reinstall the app, log in and wait for the initial download.
  12. Tags created on shared notes belong to the owner of the shared notes. They belong to his account, not to yours when you just received the share. You can apply them, but only to the notes shared, or in case of a shared notebook to all notes in that notebook. You can’t manage them, because in this case you would manage the tagging system somebody else has build on his account. So either talk to the person who shared the notes with you - or if the share went sour, learn to live with the outcome. You may contact support, but I doubt they can do much about it.
  13. On a Mac you can as well define new global shortcuts in system settings, keyboard.
  14. Probably your local database on the Windows client got corrupted by all the duplication and deleting action. To rebuild it from the server you can use this procedure: Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out. Restart your computer. Sign back in to Evernote. Keep the app open while it downloads your notes from the server.
  15. No email … No phone … You can try this link: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Else I think the easiest way is by using a mobile client, settings, support. This uses another interface and avoids the sometimes fidgety web interface.
  16. Oh, Catalan, how nice. But: The forum is user2user. To contact EN through support issue a ticket. I doubt that EN will join the offer. EN is a commercial company, not open source. If they started Catalan support, they would have to maintain it, adding it to new functions, translating help documents (there are hundreds) etc. They would really end up in a bend when the next friendly user offers to add Euskera … But anyhow, you can give it a try.
  17. We had a similar thread on the Mac client. It stopped cold after a few posts when the thread owner followed this procedure (adapted for a PC): Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out. Restart your computer. Sign back in to Evernote It seems a „stuck“ note in the local database caused all the trouble, by trying (and failing) to save a single corrupted note over and over. Except of this it is a very bad idea to run an unsupported OS these days, when even supported software has a hard time to keep up with threats. IMHO there is NO reason to stick with an unsupported OS. If you believe you need it for some exotic reason, get an actual OS, install a VM and install the old OS and the dead old, bad, outdated software inside of the VM. This way you can simply delete the VM install if it gets corrupted. And the VM will shield it from taking over the whole computer.
  18. You don’t describe where you want to drop. If you intended a cliff hanger, you did everything right. Else you decide to tell only 50% of the story.
  19. webm is a format that Google tries to push on the rest of the world. I am glad my iPad does not support it. Case closed, no further action. If you post something, use a generally accepted format like mp4.
  20. Penultimate syncs - if it doesn’t, uninstall, restart the iOS device, reinstall and connect with your EN account. Caution: Uninstalling will destroy everything you may have created, and stored unsynced just in the app. You can save by taking screenshots and saving them to the camera roll. These can be shared to EN if you wish. Support contact: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new or in the iOS app, settings, support
  21. The forum is user2user. Opinions are diverse, as are use cases and users. As long as we are within the forum Code of Conduct, any opinion can be posted here. I doubt any single opinion voiced here has any significant impact. We can only speculate about what conclusions EN staff draws from our discussion - if any … The direct communication with EN staff happens through the feedback function (which is channeled directly to EN PM, not answered) and support tickets / chat, which will be answered.
  22. This method „put all tasks into one note“ IMHO runs contrary to the basic concept of tasks. The basic idea behind EN Tasks is to make notes actionable. This directly supports the GTD approach, that if centered about the „next action“ needed to advance a topic or project. You keep the content in a note, and use tasks to set and follow up the next action, or next actions. You could reach a better GTD implementation when using tasks as they are designed, not by trying to simulate a classical task manager inside of EN.
  23. Heat is the end result of battery usage. You can check in iOS settings, battery which app consumes how much energy. It is a 24hr period, but you can easily setup a usage with and without EN to find out which share of the total ends up in that specific app. On my iOS devices EN is always in a range of low 1-digit consumption. The percentage is a fraction of the total consumed, not of the total charge available. Other apps may give a deeper insight. Furthermore I second the advise to contact support.
  24. The thread title is completely misleading. Sure you can search and filter for multiple tags, notebooks, content, combining them among each other. I even like the new filter tool better than the old way of setting it up. The discussion is about a feature in legacy that reduced the available options once a first search / filter item was selected. It is nice, but quite obviously the vast majority of users have no problem that it has not surfaced in v10 yet. This, dear legacy addicts, makes it less and less probable that EN will feel an urge to code it for the new version. So if you want it, contact EN (that is not us other users in the forum) via feedback or support ticket. Beside this, legacy 7.14 is still working as before on my Mac.
  25. It is as it is. Personally I doubt there are plans to change the standard setting of fonts. But maybe we will be surprised - one day … The forum is user2user. To reach EN use the feedback function, or issue a support ticket.
