  1. They sell nothing (except a subscription to you). They don't observe you (unless you are afraid of an algorithm that communicates your own activities back to you). They will for sure collect general use data of how, when and how the app is used - not for individuals, but for all users. This is standard and necessary to adapt and improve the service. If you don't like it, contact support. If you still don't like it, quit. And nothing is creepy, except you don't like yourself what you do on the EN platform. Then the prime question is why you continue.
  2. No settings on this. To ask for it, issue a support ticket and mention it is an accessibility issue for you.
  3. This are typical signs of a corrupted local database. To replace it with a fresh copy, you can do this: Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“ Log out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q). When asked confirm "Remove Data from This Device". If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync. Let the initial download run, and leave the app open. It will take a while to download the full content, for offline use.
  4. About other threads: This one has a misleading title, and it later strayed off topic: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/130886-what-we-cant-we-search-by-multiple-tags-any-more/ The tread owner confirmed later that the new functionality does the job for her, after getting used to it. I think so too, it is really not an issue if you look at how vastly the filters were improved. The forum is driven by users answering to users. Staff in rare cases shows up, carrying a staff badge. To reach EN, use the feedback function (not answered) or issue a support ticket (answered).
  5. Anything special you ask the app to do ? Do you use it to retrieve information, or are you actually updating notes ? Camera action, like for scanning ? Can‘t reproduce it, my iPhone keeps the cool even when I open and close notes for several minutes. My EN app runs at 3% of total battery consumption. So there should be something specific.
  6. @dpotenzi You are offensive, and you break the code of conduct in the forum. We are users around here, dedicating time to help fellow users (often on a Free account). All capital letters or in your case super large font is unpolite and not tolerated. I ask you to correct it. If you want to comment with EN staff, use the feedback function or issue a support ticket. You can decide to be rude there, which will not help you to promote your cause either.
  7. It depends what payment method you use currently. If you pay by iTunes or GooglePlay, you can’t change the credit card information. I think this is the most likely reason you get no update button. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314118 If this is not the reason, contact support, choose Payment & Billing s ticket type.
  8. No need to be reluctant, user is user. Sure the forum regulars are subscribers, but we don’t care if you are as well. When we ask, it is to know the possibilities, not to stop assistance. So in your case if you can wait, wait until the 30 days are over. Or if you need it faster, you can subscribe for a month without a need to sell the Crown Jewels first.
  9. On the Mac the standard when choosing „open“ on a pdf attachment is that it opens in the Macs Preview app. Belying it’s name, it is quite powerful to annotate and otherwise manipulate content like pictures and pdfs. Once I hit „close (window)“, it closes in Preview, and automatically saves the changes back to the original attachment in its resting place in the note. I think when another app would be set as standard for opening pdfs (like PDF Expert, that allows to really edit the pdf, not only to annotate it) the „Open“ command would switch to that app.
  10. Since there is not really a need to merge (when exporting to 1 HTML folder, kudos to @Boot17 ), the discussion is interesting but in my opinion merely academic. At least for this specific use case - unless merging them all is good for archiving as well. By exporting a whole notebook to HTML, the 50 notes limit can be avoided, which does not work with merging.
  11. Cool. Cool. Cool. … No issue here, iPhone 11 with all the latest stuff. Conclusion: Contact support from the device that is getting hot, attach an activity log.
  12. Try this on your Mac: Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“ Log out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q). When asked confirm "Remove Data from This Device". If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync. Let the initial download run, and leave the app open. It will take a while to download the full content, for offline use. It will replace the local database (probably corrupted) with a fresh copy from the server.
  13. The launch of the clipper is not fast on none M1 machines either. It needs to establish its own access to your account, since it works through the API, not any installed client on the device. I doubt this code base has any significant impact. Since the share of M1 machines in relation to all computers in use is still small (probably no more than 2-3%), you should IMHO exercise some patience. Asking to get it all and now (a plague of our days) means taking dev capacity away from other tasks. Or do you believe they sit around idle, until they are allowed to work on the task you mean is the most important on earth ? You can ask for anything - to reach EN staff use the feedback function or a support ticket.
  14. If the link provided above is not working, and what your video shows, looks like something blocks access for you. This is either a local issue on the network (like an eager, misconfigured firewall), or on your computer. It is not EN logging you out, something prevents the handshake between the EN website and your browser. You could just go to the next coffee place and connect to the WiFi there to find out. If it works there, have a talk to your network admin. Another option is through any mobile client (works independently from the web access), by the support chat on the help pages or on the web client.
  15. Do you use the AppStore version, or the direct download ? The AppStore version is known to give problems that are sometimes hard to crack - especially in the interchange of information between the app me other elements. This is caused by MacOS, running the AppStore apps in a sandbox.
  16. OK guys, I have some news for you, at least concerning my own use of the web client. My problem did only happen on my iPad, not on my Mac. All the latest OS version, the web client had updated itself on all devices to 10.41.5. On the iPad I got the red alert that content could not be added, on the Mac (as well with Safari) not. I found out that on the iPad I had the browser extension Firefox Klar installed (it is called like this in Germany only, for some legal reason, it is Firefox something in ROW). It is an internet security extension for browsers. I toggle it ON - the upload fails. I leave it installed, but toggle it OFF - the upload works. So anybody observing the same may check for internet security / privacy extensions. They can stop the attachment of content to a note on the web client, by treating the attaching of local content as a malicious action "stealing" stuff from the local computer. Weird !
  17. Correct, clever idea 👍 The only issue might be that if there are several attachments with the same file name, there will be a number in round brackets added to keep them from overwriting themselves in the joint folder. Attachments embedded into a web clip container will not be exported as attachments, they stay inside of the clip. And the old HTML export bug that the links on the HTML page created by the export are dysfunctional is still unresolved 😟 But the attachments itself are OK.
  18. There is another thread about it. Since v10 is now 2 years up and running, and requests for this feature are scarce, I personally doubt EN will dedicate resources on coding this venture. To change this position, you and probably many more users need to give feedback, or contact support about it.
  19. With tags, each string will do, even if it is in the middle of a tag name. You are right, the thread owner should better define what he wants. About focussing a search based on already selected items there is another feature request thread.
  20. We use EN on a number of iOS devices, iPhones and iPads. The only devices where a little patience is needed are the old ones, that lack computing power. All newer ones (some of them are 5 years old by now) run fast & snappy. The problem with the network switch while the app was open was the only one encountered so far.
  21. Note history is running for all accounts, all the time. Only access is restricted. To make it work a change must have synced to the server. It is only an option on a desktop client. No guarantees, but a fair chance you can use a prior version. You could subscribe for a month - will cost roughly as much a a large to go with your favorite flavor. Or try to reconstruct the table manually - which can be difficult, at best.
  22. I observed a problem recently when the iPad switched between 4G and WiFi. The EN app was open, and it seems it didn’t follow the device on switching networks. Solution: I closed the app, and opened it again. This seems to reconnect it correctly, I had no more problems after that. My ticket on this event is still running.
  23. The forum is user2user. To contact EN use the feedback function or issue a support ticket. Currently using legacy is the best workaround. Another option would be to export the relevant notes to HTML. This works best when they are in a notebook that can be completely exported, because the 50 notes limit will not apply. The HTML has a folder under each note, and in that folder are all attachments.
  24. I rather don’t think the thumbnail can be different for long on different devices. AFAIK the thumbnails are created on the server. If a new thumbnail is created, it will eventually sync to all devices. We are just speculating about how thumbnails are created in the end. Knowing for sure does only EN staff, and they probably won’t tell.
