Control Which Image Shown in a Note's Thumbnail/Snippet View
PinkElephant replied to marcelo's question in General Feature Requests
@Rileydog6 I just imagine an update mail from EN every month about "look here, and we still intend to do nothing about it". Not good for your blood pressure ! But read this and calm down: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/80084-control-which-image-shown-in-a-notes-thumbnailsnippet-view/?do=findComment&comment=732342 -
Support not available, loops through login to web
PinkElephant replied to AndyDent's topic in Web Client Issues
There are different options to what can go wrong: Local/app, local/computer, local/network and global/network. Some examples: L/A: Outdated cached content, website data for Evernote.com or it`s derivates, remains of a legacy install L/C: Installed plugins, especially ad blockers, PC Firewall, Antivirus / Cyber security software, on Windows bad registry entries L/N: Network firewall, DNS filters (like a Pi-Hole or other ad blockers), activated VPN (especially if it routes all traffic through a corporate network) G/N: Everything outside of the local network, like an ISP blocking certain sites Since nobody knows your setup, you need to find out yourself. If you think everything is fine locally, try a personal hotspot from your phone to circumvent the ISPs network, for example. -
Evernote files - loop on pdf password request
PinkElephant replied to ahl's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Mac 10.84.3 - the files position is in the left panel. But clicking on it produces a blank main area - nothing is displayed at all. On the web client it worked right away. A logout/login then made it work on the installed client as well. On switching between Files and other positions opening the files view is pretty slow. I will wait some days - maybe it needs to run an indexing first. -
Until EN recognizes my iCal (Apple), the calendars have no utility for me.

How to change double spacing to single spacing
PinkElephant replied to SpacecoastWalt's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Even if it is a carry(age) over, there is one difference to other apps: Usually <Enter> starts a new paragraph, <shift-Enter> a new line inside of the same paragraph. To me it seems EN treats both the same. -
No alarms from Evernote

Log out of the app, log back in. Restart the phone. Evernote Support Ticket: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new -
The formatting is done through HTML commands, that are invisible part of the text when you copy it. Since all apps use their own „flavor“ of HTML it may well be that when you copy a complex formatting between apps, the receiving app interprets the code differently. Against believes MS Word is no „Industry Standard“ - MS is known to do things their own way, which then only works between MS apps (and sometimes not even there). In general I wouldn’t expect full compatibility.

With all scanners, scan to a folder, rename the file there and save it into an Import Folder. For me it actually saves time. The file name will be used as note title. Giving a good file name avoids rework when the note was created. Search in v10 is actually better than it was before: They added the „Contains“ command, and Boolean Search is available. Contains allows to narrow down the search in a new way, only showing certain content types. Boolean Search allows complex searches not possible before. Both can be used in saved searches.

It works, and I am not aware of any change. EN Mac 10.84.3, MacOS 14.4.1. One needs to get used to the fact that there is no visual feedback, until the last step when the copied tags appear in the target note.

GDPR data request not processed
PinkElephant replied to worker7's topic in Evernote General Discussions
@worker7 opposite to other services who harvest and market user data, EN hold exactly the data you have in your account: Your notes, your login and your payment information. The data is not used for any other purpose than what is disclosed - providing you with the service you have decided to use. You already have what you want. -
Different companies handle this differently. EN is handling it as I described. If this is good is up to anybody’s discretion. By logging into the help website, the list of tickets can be accessed. Ticket status can be reviewed, tickets can be reopened. Which won’t help much if there is no new information - it will be closed again. Just a waste of time, for yourself and support.

What's the big deal with slash commands?
PinkElephant replied to idoc's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Only users here. Try: feedback@evernote.com -
A ticket will be called "Solved" when there is no solution - it is then solved by defining there is no solution. It may be closed when an issue was passed on to the devs - the solution is to add it to the backlog. Keeping these tickets open would do no good. It may sound contradictory, but from a support view point they are solved (= answered).

Did you use Revo Uninstaller to remove both installs ? If not, install both again (to create the install that can be removed), then uninstall using Revo.
