  1. I quite agree, it’s taking them far too long to bring in this essential keyboard shortcut, anyone that’s used it knows, it’s essential. If you haven’t used it you simply don’t know what you are missing.
  2. Could you let me know what your system setup is please because on my system Evernote 10 is completely and utterly unusable, it’s not a case of simply not liking Evernote 10 because of all the missing “essential” features and the glacial speed and the fact that it takes on average 3 times to get the program even to run on my computer, it’s that on my new iMac 8gig of ram it’s utterly unusable. (Evernote Classic runs on this same system like a dream, instantaneous). please share your setup that seems to work so well for you. Thank you.
  3. The actual quote from Ian Short was (less than 2% use tags) hard to believe but that’s what he said.
  4. It still shocks me how utterly unusable Evernote 10+ is compared with Evernote Classic. I don’t think they use their own software, instead of looking for alternatives we should ask Evernote what they use because it can’t be Evernote.
  5. For me Evernote 10+ has been the slowest most frustrating software “upgrade” I have ever come across. Since 1989 Yesterday for instance I thought I’d give it another go because really, it can’t be that bad but no, it was and then some, three attempts to just start it and no, it just froze on startup each time and had to be force quit, then after about 10 mins of trying I finally got this pile of @£&?! Going and it was so slow it was laughable if it wasn’t for the fact that it had ten years of my life tied up in it, ten years of my dedicated input over countless hours with my valued data stuck inside this streaming pile of S&£(;!! t. So no I’m not happy with this latest version 10+ fast new IMac; made it feel like rubbish, my 12 year old iMac on the other hand running pre version 10 works instantaneously with the old classic Evernote, no delay in anything I ask of it plus for people that can actually type, keyboard shortcuts! Oh my goodness Evernote, what have you done to my old friend!
  6. Oh my goodness, has it really come to this?
  7. This is by far the most incredible “update” I’ve seen in my software history 1989 and counting. please Evernote fix this awful situation. You have my full support but for goodness sake, fix this!
  8. I didn’t know that, you do understand a hidden feature may as well not exist. Someone should tell Evernote.
  9. This is the basic stuff that should be brought back before they mess around with these other pointless stupid “killer new features” for goodness sake Evernote you haven’t even got the note list refresh working! + a hundred other essential features in Classic.
  10. Not just preview of course but every single one of the other programs that work perfectly with Classic but not at all in the worst software release in. History Evernote 10. Don’t you people at Evernote use your own software?
  11. As apposed to keyboard shortcuts, usable speed, reliability, communication from the company, built in screen shorting, and a million other features lost from the classic version over night, just chucked away as if they never existed. Yea that’s what we need, another to do list manager, why didn’t I think of this before, what’s the matter with me.
  12. You have got to be joking, You trust data hoover Google over Apple, convince yourself cause anyone who know is just laughing. https://www.macworld.co.uk/news/tim-cook-facebook-3799911/ https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/ Digital rights group the Electronic Frontier Foundation called Facebook’s anti-Apple attack ads “a laughable [attempt] … to distract [users] from its poor track record of anticompetitive behavior and privacy issues” in an article published Friday. https://www.cultofmac.com/730831/electronic-frontier-foundation-springs-to-apples-defense-in-facebook-spat/?utm_campaign=twitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter Apple is right and Facebook is wrong. Next step: Android should follow with the same protections. Your move, Google. and Jason Cipriani @MrCippy As of today, every Google Home/Alexa device in my home has been disconnected and replaced with HomePod Minis. Five in total, with another full sized HomePod. 21 December Conversation sent from Twitterrific Jason Cipriani @MrCippy @jareddipane I used to think the same way. But after I started getting push ads in the Amazon app from random questions my kids were asking Alexa, I was done. 21 December Conversation sent from Twitterrific
  13. As you all know in other forums staff from the associated company often visit and quite happily answer some of the reasonable posts on a regular basis. So it’s not a stupid question in a way to ask where are they in this forum if you don’t take into account the following: The problem is that there is so much anger at Evernote for what they just did I completely understand why no staff would go anywhere near this forum. I wouldn’t if I were them. They would just end up being swamped with negativity because their management are hiding and posting no answers to anything anywhere. The problem is when you are ignored you tend to shout louder. It’s a no win situation whilst we get fatuous statements from the head and nothing else, let’s not have a go at each other but stick together and hopefully one day someone in Evernote will actually listen and act. Just don’t expect them to post here until things settle down.
  14. I think according to Ian Small if you use tags and Evernote for anything other than a single shopping list you are a power user. We are all in this trouble together so even though I’ve been using Evernote for a long time and like keyboard shortcuts (bring them back) I’m no more important than anyone else. I like the forums because everyone’s opinions are heard equally. Don’t let them divide and therefor conquer us. Let’s stick together friends.
  15. Thank you for the video, perfect example of what all EV 10 users are experiencing. A graphic indication indeed of why EN 10 is not fit for public consumption. Just as I have said before, don’t the people at Evernote use their own product, just look at this rubbish you have released!
  16. He did seem to treat tag users with contempt, If this statistic is true it’s something he should have not shared out of shame for the lack of use of one of the most powerful and useful features in a database. I don’t think he uses tags himself. He really only brought it up to justify their downgrading to the bottom of the screen instead of next to the notebook name at the top. The guy doesn’t seem to know how to use his own software properly. Tags Rock.
  17. You are absolutely correct, it makes no ergonomic or practical sense whatsoever to move the tags so far away from the notebook, Ian Small, as already mentioned dismissing this criticism in an earlier interview saying some rubbish about saving space but there is and was clearly space at the top for them to appear next to the notebook and as you see they now in fact take up more screen Realestate at the bottom. Very worrying that he should revert to a clear lie in order to dismiss an obvious practical improvement to this horrible software but that is the way I feel EN will deal with all these great suggestions and requests to reinstate a clearly superior product, Classic Evernote. I know we are told we can just keep using the old version but for how long, when will they pull the plug on the only working version. If they are deluded into thinking this EV10 is anywhere near ready, which I’m worried I think they are, we are all in big trouble. It’s like they don’t use their own software.
  18. Congratulations Evernote, you are ground breaking, the very first in software history to pass off a sub beta as the finished article (after extensive beta testing, Ha ha ha) to millions of users and then stick with it as if nothing just happened, blaming the “power users” for messing it up for you by recognising the stroke you just pulled. Those horrible 2%er power users. When I say power users what I really mean is people that actually care about the software and know how to use it properly.
  19. Yes, isn’t that sad, tags are one of the most useful and powerful features of Evernote Classic played down in this way, I felt they were belittled by Ian, virtually laughed at by him in that interview. We moved them down to the bottom of the screen to save screen real estate, rubbish, they take up more room down there and it’s inconvenient to have to look up and down, top and bottom just to process your notes, one after the other. Instead they should be elevating them, trying to get more users to find out how tags could transform their workflows into something wonderful instead of just using Evernote like one massive standard filing cabinet. I don’t think the current management know how to use Evernote properly, they are so new to the company.
  20. I’m 100% with you on this, it’s the biggest backward step in software history, no exaggeration. I’m a newbie, I’ve only been using Evernote for 10 Years, put my life into it, Ian classes me as a 0.2%er power user, because I use tags. What does that tell you about the new managements understanding of the user base and their own software. It does not feel to me like Evernote is in safe hands which is such a pity because the Classic version of Evernote was and is (for now, before it’s trashed at any moment) one of my favourite software programs ever.
  21. Yes it was a rather painful thing to read with its digs at power users, I’m sorry I found it a rather begrudging apology, totally absent of real content, nothing new at all, if there was any new information please tell me what it was because I can’t see it myself. I don’t think they understand their own product. A real missed opportunity to honestly connect with their valued customers. This just increases my feeling of unease with Evernote, why no reassurance that they will keep the Classic Evernote going for the foreseeable, why? Also I simply don’t believe the statistics Ian quoted, how on earth can 90% of uses be happy with this complete and utter piece of rubbish, Version 10 ? I don’t believe it, are these 90% running something different from me? Because if they are not it’s a straight out lie.
