That's not correct Notebooks, like Tags are simply fields in the note metadata Directories, also known as Folders, are a legacy filing methodology Some users emulate directories/folders using the notebook/tag trees

There's no support for directories in Evernote We only have the Notebook and Tag fields Tags are the primary organization tool, with unlimited levels (hierarchy)

Here's an example; Notebook "Recipes" or Tag "Recipes" If I want to browse my recipes notes, I would browse tag "Recipes"

Same question, why not "browsing through each individual note in the notebook tag" given that notebooks and tags are two fields in the note metadata

I don"t have a list but I advise users to hold off installing the Version 10 product until the work is completed The Legacy product continues to work well for me edit; My reason for staying with the Legacy product is in addition to working well, I don't see anything in Version 10 that makes me want to switch In fact, reading the release notes indicates Version 10 is a work-in-process and not ready for general use My must have feature is Applescript integration (Mac)

Browsing??? Does that mean navigating using the notebook tree in the sidebar? Is there a reason "browsing" can't use the tag tree?

I'm using export with the Legacy product on my Mac No problem exporting notes - daily incremental and weekly full backups No issues with the software The Version 8 also supports export by notebook

Correct; The Legacy product can be installed Mac devices The Legacy product can not be installed on IOS devices (iPhones, iPads)

It's working for me on my Apple Mac No legacy option for Apple IOS

Agreed; a Legacy IOS version is needed Evernote claims Apple restricts them to a single version but I don't accept that excuse The Version 10 product is not ready for general use, and should not have been released without a fallback
