  1. I have personal data backups for recovery, but I've not experienced data loss with my Evernote data Our notes are uploaded to the Evernote servers so we're protected against device failures - the data can be accessed at www.evernote.com via the web platform Deleted notes are moved to the "Trash", and can be recovered We've noticed problems with users being confused about their account login They create and access a second account Regarding the "Reload". Were you storing notes in Local Notebooks and bypassing Evernote's data protection?
  2. You're welcome to post feature requests in the forum at https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/304-general-feature-requests/
  3. I login on a Mac with the Safari browser; select the New Web version; there's a classic/beta toggle and v5.29 is the version I get
  4. Thanks @May L I'm stuck at the v5.29 web beta πŸ™
  5. Evernote's primary organization tool is the Tags feature; tags can be organized in a hierarchy Evernote uses Notebooks to identify notes as private/shared, online/local, offline, default Sorry, I can't help with the font/colour issue I understand it's a Windows feature
  6. Evernote provides a Tag feature - it can be used to flag archived notes I flag archived notes with tag:!Archived To exclude from a search, I include the parameter -tag:!Archived
  7. By inserting a space, this has become a search of contents for text cad
  8. My understanding is Spaces is a replacement for the Notebook/Stack feature Spaces are only supported for Business accounts
  9. For Tags, requesting the same list display as when hovering over the shortcut/notebook icons Currently we get
  10. So, you're requesting the New Notebook button be moved from the right side of the page This design also applies to the Tags page
  11. For import did you select the option to include tags?
  12. I'm not happy with the "look and feel" of the web client(s) I'd prefer to see the look and feel of the Mac client on the other platforms - Window users may have a different opinion
  13. On a Mac with the current version, use View > Sidebar Options
  14. I added my vote My preference would be a "button" in the Search box Requests for this feature have been merged To indicate your support, use the vote button at the top left corner of the discussion
  15. Thanks for this look behind the scenes. I understand the need for the common interface My concerns are more about the Evernote client apps I'm looking forward to UI enhancements with the Web/Android/IOS platforms At the same time, I'm apprehensive for the Windows/Mac platforms What features will we be losing? For example, will Mac Applescript integration continue to be supported
  16. I'm not sure if this is possible, given Evernotes base format; enml (basically html) This is not a format for printing with page breaks If I need a print formatted document, I switch to a word processing app (Apple Pages) The document is stored as a note attachment
  17. Confirmed - there is currently no Linux client app. This is not new information I understand a Linux app has been developed and is planned for implementation (no date) >>The web GUI isn't worth the trouble. I'm not happy with the web app, and rarely use it It"s useful as a fallback when my devices are not available >>And community apps are unreliable, featureless I'm satisfied using the Mac app as primary and the IOS app as supplemental >>and aren't worth the security concerns. What security concerns?
  18. I'm 99% with Evernote for storage but wanted to point out a distinction for editors The Evernote editor is fine for basic notes, but I use whatever editor is best for the purpose for example Apple Pages for word processing, Apple Numbers for spreadsheets, Notability for note-taking on an iPad The documents are stored in Evernote as note attachments Regarding exceptions for storage, I have files stored in iCloud because IOS is so poor at editing attachments And there's files that must live externally because of access requirements The files are accessed via file links in Evernote notes
  19. Files uploaded to Evernote are stored in their native format; word, jpeg, pdf etc You are "able to retrieve it in that format" >>What about files that already existed in other formats? You may have uploaded for storage purposes a vast amount of Word documents to Evernote and not kept copies anywhere else. Anyway, if you sent it to Evernote in a format, you should be able to retrieve it in that format Here's an example of a note I exported on my Mac It contains - note text; enml converted to html - spreadsheet files -script files As others mentioned, I could have used save attachments >>Seriously, who would export documents to an HTML file? Evernote's base format for notes is enml, which is basically html I use the export/html feature to backup my Evernote data As per the above example, attachment files remain in their native format
  20. I can generate this using Applescript on a Mac I have minimal notebooks, but it's also useful for a tag directory I could also do a screen capture; ocr'd to a text file
  21. As per the others, I used a screenshot of your note Evernote processed it and generated a text file, listed below It's hit and miss with handwriting depending on various factors, for the best results use typing <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE recoIndex PUBLIC "SYSTEM" "http://xml.evernote.com/pub/recoIndex.dtd"><recoIndex docType="unknown" objType="image" objID="80f33de5967dd37671bb3fed401d6120" engineVersion="7.0.24.1" recoType="service" lang="en" objWidth="303" objHeight="228"> <item x="35" y="11" w="28" h="9"> <t w="28">slept</t> <t w="24">seen</t> <t w="23">sept</t> <t w="20">SL(PT</t> <t w="16">5t.(PT</t></item> <item x="73" y="13" w="10" h="6"> <t w="27">In</t></item> <item x="89" y="10" w="31" h="9"> <t w="21">tree</t> <t w="16">wee</t> <t w="16">ore</t></item> <item x="221" y="23" w="19" h="8"> <t w="27">IRS</t></item> <item x="37" y="39" w="24" h="9"> <t w="37">good</t> <t w="20">Gooc,</t></item> <item x="70" y="39" w="13" h="8"> <t w="15">S.</t> <t w="15">s</t> <t w="14">sr</t> <t w="12">SE</t></item> <item x="88" y="41" w="22" h="8"> <t w="32">FOR.</t> <t w="27">FOR,</t> <t w="16">ma</t> <t w="15">Mr.</t> <t w="14">Me.</t></item> <item x="72" y="61" w="35" h="9"><t w="27">asked</t></item><item x="119" y="62" w="10" h="8"><t w="61">To</t><t w="13">TG</t><t w="13">,o</t></item><item x="218" y="64" w="27" h="9"><t w="11">add</t><t w="11">and</t></item><item x="252" y="61" w="36" h="10"><t w="13">rata</t></item><item x="37" y="74" w="48" h="14"><t w="20">ghosted</t></item><item x="105" y="95" w="12" h="6"><t w="47">so</t><t w="18">;$0</t><t w="11">$0</t></item><item x="19" y="120" w="13" h="7"><t w="25">-l</t></item><item x="40" y="120" w="19" h="7"><t w="41">AM</t></item><item x="69" y="118" w="12" h="7"><t w="42">so</t></item><item x="206" y="115" w="23" h="8"><t w="25">me</t><t w="20">Rae</t></item><item x="249" y="115" w="10" h="6"><t w="18">UT</t><t w="18">VI</t></item><item x="112" y="128" w="49" h="9"><t w="12">coming</t></item><item x="92" y="132" w="10" h="7"><t w="40">is</t><t w="13">l!.I</t></item><item x="111" y="131" w="12" h="7"><t w="22">c.o</t></item><item x="81" y="160" w="39" h="12"><t w="25">sweep</t><t w="22">weep</t><t w="21">SW eee</t><t w="21">so eee</t><t w="20">sweet</t><t w="20">SW gee</t><t w="20">so gee</t><t w="18">SW bee</t><t w="18">so bee</t><t w="18">SW EET</t></item><item x="138" y="163" w="15" h="8"><t w="22">Liu</t><t w="18">lie</t><t w="12">Li u</t><t w="10">Lt u</t></item><item x="157" y="162" w="16" h="7"><t w="10">Lee</t></item><item x="91" y="205" w="21" h="9"><t w="34">we</t></item><item x="175" y="115" w="35" h="98"><t w="28">left</t><t w="27">Lia</t><t w="22">EFT</t><t w="14">l i J</t></item><item x="138" y="13" w="68" h="61"><t w="18">Ill.</t><t w="17">I'll</t><t w="17">[ll.</t><t w="16">{ll.</t><t w="15">h</t><t w="15">IBP</t><t w="13">VF</t></item></recoIndex>
  22. As others pointed out, Tags are a better feature for identifying different contexts for a note Copie of notes is a bad process Instead of note copies, you can use a note link pointing to the original note
  23. Evernote > Help > Activity Log There's a screenshot above at https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/110479-search-in-evernote-613-mac-doesnt-work/?do=findComment&comment=487131
