  1. All PDF's are processed the same by Evernote. >>but you cannot select the text in a photo, so screen-readers cannot access the words. Evernote's OCR feature is used for the purpose of search indexing The photo/pdf is not modified with retrievable text; it's stored in a separate text file
  2. Oops, I had no intention of disparaging Evernote's search feature My comments related to the checkbox and to-do lists
  3. Evernote is a generic storage app for filing notes/documents (edit; with a great search feature) There's no indication of an interest in expanding the to-do functionality >>a list of items with check-boxes doesn't work It works well for a check list For task management, I use separate task notes. The reminder feature stores due date, completion date/status Tags identify categories, priorities, etc Saved searches generate a to-do list; - for example a sample current task list reminderOrder:* -reminderTime:day+1 -reminderDoneTime:* No recurrence; I use an AppleScript (Mac)
  4. Still no touch screen support on Macs; it limits support for sketch/handwriting I use alternative devices (IPad), and store the files in Evernote as note attachments Notability works great on an iPad with an Apple Pencil Also the Procreate app for art work >but I already pay for Evernote for taking so I would prefer to not use any other app At it's core, Evernote is a storage/organization service The included free editor is basic, and text based (enml/html format)
  5. Quoting from the documentation Upper and lower case are ignored. For example, Brave and brave return the same results.
  6. For text searches underscore can be used; for example _A Autos
  7. Tags work well for organizing/searching notes Deficiencies of the search feature is that special characters are dropped stop words are dropped ""#A autos" would be a problem in a text search. The text search ends up as "autos"
  8. How are you searching for notes? Evernote has an extensive search feature We can search for tag:AAAAA tag:BBBB We can also include search text "DDDD" The screenshot is from my Mac
  9. Moved to the Windows forum. We were confused by you posting in the Web forum
  10. Requests should be posted and discussed in the Feature Request forum I understand notes and Titles What do you mean by sub-Titles? We are expecting UI changes, however I doubt there will be significant changes to the data infrastructure
  11. My mistake, I missed the point you were editing captured web pages As a Mac user, I can edit the note source directly (content.enml file) however I rarely edit captured web pages
  12. You're hijacking the discussion; a pdf request is posted Here I'm not clear about the "instead of taking up database size"
  13. You're welcome to indicate your support for the request using the vote button at the top left corner of the discussion I'm curious at the "needed"; could you provide more detail I rarely export/import a note, and I'm not clear about "an active css that makes a banner stick on top of a text" afaik The export/import duplicates the note (except for note-id and notebook) edit: My mistake, I missed the point you were editing captured web pages As a Mac user, I can edit the note source directly (content.enml file)
  14. Did you read above about recreating the search index
  15. Using Evernote Web at www.evernote.com Click on your image, and then settings
  16. btw Evernote has no support for folders We get two note metadata fields; Notebooks and Tags
  17. Yes, I use a Mac AppleScript to automate backups; daily intermediate and weekly full The basic code is tell application "Evernote" to export theNotes to fileBackup format HTML
  18. I have a weekly full backup of my Evernote data Select all notes (Command A) Select File > Export I use HTML format The export is separate files for each note that can be viewed using any web browser app To maintain Notebook info, use a separate export for each notebook
  19. I merged your post with other requests for this feature To indicate your support, use the vote button at the top left corner of the discussion
  20. This is above my pay grade but I was wondering if Evernote's activity log provides any useful info afaik Dragging the email into Evernote shouldn't cause a problem. A .eml object is created and stored as a file attachment btw, I see no problem posting your issue in this forum. Perhaps embed the call stack as a text file
  21. Do you have notes using the new tags? The sync process is Device <> Server <> Device Check the tags on the server using the Web platform at www.evernote.com >>This not not be directly related to the question Not even close. I moved your post to a new topic
  22. Your subscription level shows is shown on your post - Basic I have a Premium subscription, and will continue to use the Evernote service A read only feature is important to me; I implemented it using third party Filterize I see the feature being discussed in the behind the scenes video, and I'm waiting for the implementation
  23. This discussion has been moved to the Mac Request forum Personally, I never check word count for notes, but have no problem clicking on Note Details
