...As @agsteele - it would seem logical that the calendar permissions include people you might want to meet with and/ or send appointments to. The categories are pretty broad, and you can rely on the fact that Evernote is not going to spam your contants or otherwise use their details for commercial gain.

See - this is why I keep hanging around here - I was today years old... Except it seems not to work for me: Win 11 / Evernote 10.49.4 - I can highlight the tags, and they're outlined in blue; but copy/ paste won't apparently work for me...

Snapshot Images fail to Render
gazumped replied to BenVolo's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Hmmn. I'm using an Android with Evernote 8.13 as my primary image-taker, and I don't have any special issues seeing the pictures in Windows 10 or 11 - I know iPhone users have issues with battery-saving routines closing down apps before they fully sync note contents to the server - do you typically take a picture using the Evernote app and then close it down again? -
Snapshot Images fail to Render
gazumped replied to BenVolo's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Hi. Which Windows version? And how are you getting the snapshot? Webclip / phone camera / tablet?? -
Hi. There are a few threads around here about exports / backups / prints of Evernote notes. Can you explain the eventual aim? Are these backups, or reference, or for sharing with others forinstance?

Images not loading
gazumped replied to princessmoon's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Wasn't blaming Windows before - just noting that the files then were HEIC files, which apparently were originally an Apple format; It's not a given that your local Windows device would have something able to display that format. If you have the same issue with PNG files, that's a different thing. I haven't seen anything similar (that I've been aware of). If this the Evernote app, or the web client? -
Hi. If you open the PDF to read it and then re-save, does that kick start the image? The 'old' Evernote used to have a separate thumbnail index which is maybe compromised on your device in some way. The only way to restart v10 might be to uninstall / restart / reinstall, but it might be worth a try...

How Do I Disable Quick Notes on Windows?
gazumped replied to LTEMIN's topic in Evernote General Discussions
If you prefer to start Evernote in 'normal' mode, won't the usual Windows method of creating a shortcut to the executable work? If Evernote is already running, you can Alt+tab to the existing window and Ctrl+N for a new note... -
Hi. It's good to see that 2-step is working - maybe someone with a similar log-on is having issues getting into their own account. You could report this to Support if you have access...
-
You are correct. It takes funding to run a support team, and since Evernote already assign free software and free storage for some users, they seem to believe that enough is enough. I'll repeat that I've seen no evidence of random loss of data in normal use, but using a web browser based application and ...suggests that maybe the installed app would be a safer option. I can only suggest that if you're concerned about this and want to continue to use Evernote, it would be better to subscribe - even if only for a month or two - so that you can report any issues to Evernote Support and maybe help them work out what is happening.

Exporting PDFs
gazumped replied to Gary Keenan's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
...And can't everyone print to PDF anyway? (For varying values of the word 'print' I gather from other threads...) -
Ads appearing in my list of notes
gazumped replied to Gary Keenan's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi - if you're getting ads frequently enough to be annoying, you have the benefit as a subscriber of complaining direct - send the Support team a ticket; it might do some good... https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new -
...Or you could simply share one account with yourself, then copy notes and notebooks from one to the other in real time... When you are done, you could Permanently close your Evernote account and, if you wish, move your email addresses around - Change your account login email address

Hi. Don't know how complicated you want to be with your 'calendar', but a simple solution would be to create a note for each order, including the image(s) you need. Tag the note with something relevant like <orders> and title it with the date the order will be required as yyyymmdd (today being 20221128 for instance). Save a search for tag:orders and sort the results by title. Might be best to create a separate notebook for your orders so they're all in one place - then you don't 'lose' information if someone forgets to apply the tag.

I'm a "glass half full" kind of person I guess, but in increasing the price of the already concessionary 'Plus' contract to something like half of the full price I think the company is still being generous. For what must be a diminishingly small group of customers they're having to maintain a second level of security, limits and levels - which is effectively a separate product. It costs them something over and above normal background maintenance for that very small group* - and costs have gone up. Evernote (IMHO) has two aims - either to get the members of that group to (finally) upgrade, or to revert to Free - so that the company can simplify their admin and charging structures - or maybe clear the way for new tiers of membership. All users (obvs) have the choice to leave too - but as we're finding; there are plenty of shiny new systems out there, but more often than not there are also big red flashing warning signs. *compared to what must now be a growing subscription only account.

Evernote's "exciting news"
gazumped replied to Dave-in-Decatur's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Choose where you want to move to first - most note-taking apps have an 'import' option for Evernote data which will guide you through what you want to do. Internet searches are also good, plus Evernote have some help here - Back up and restore your data in Evernote for Windows -
Hi. Like your name, though it's only wise to do so if you're with someone and you're sure you can run faster. Otherwise I think playingdeadforabear might be safer. As to your question (and yes, you do always get unwanted extra advice when you post here) - if you're a subscriber, you can change the background to the page, so you could create any kind of photo montage in whatever available space you have. With that one exception though nothing exists 'inside' Evernote unless it's part of a note (or a task, but I don't think that helps here...) You could pin a note to the home page and attach a picture there... NB you also have to be a subscriber to save changes. See more here - Customize Home
