  1. Had been considering signing up for a plan before Evernote did this. I can totally concede that I should be paying, I do think people should be compensated for their time and work, of course, although I don't agree with the way Evernote went about this, or about their shoddy management and service. While it has been incredibly useful to me, I cannot actually afford the price they are asking, personally. If I could have paid, I would have before this. So for those jumping on my back for expressing my anger and surprise, sure. What I will say tho is, at the risk of starting a flame war, is that these Evernote apologists and shills like PinkElephant who spend all their time on this site are INCREDIBLY annoying, not just here, but in the way they "answer" the many questions average users have posted in the past. Don't y'all have a life?
  2. Gross. The company trying to strong arm people into paying more by unexpectedly blocking your ability to create a new note, after over a decade of using it? That doesn't show any respect for their users or create any trust. If you have a policy, then give notice about it, and enforce it equally among everybody. This is a slimy, shifty underhanded move on their part. Why would I pay to upgrade and give money to a company that has zero respect for their consumers and users? (sure it's their prerogative. doesn't make it any less slimy. it's desperate and sad.)
  3. Rats, PinkElephant, just tried it on iPad in Safari, still same issue as I get on computer browsers šŸ˜•
  4. Thanks PinkElephant, looks like v10 in Personal Settings is checked for me. Tried unchecking it and checking it, but still not able to access Classic, unfortunately šŸ˜•
  5. Oh, sorry, didn't realize there were multiple level 5 users on this thread. So to be specific: gazumped.
  6. Web interface has never counted towards the two limit for me. Anyways, so...looks like it's an issue with the Web Classic interface? (firmolari)? And they're willing to fix that? That would be great... p.s. for the expert user and the level 5 user on this thread and others, those helpful initial responses of "well it's prob your user error" (basically) or "it couldn't possibly be Evernote's fault because you're only one of the millions of users so how come they're not posting" (also do you know how annoying it is to even find/get to the Evernote forums? they don't make it easy, and it's not readily shown on the "Help and Learning" page), are really aggravating, and I think are the definition of gaslighting? I think the level 5 user has said the same thing on a past post of mine. I think we all appreciate y'all's help, despite being Evernote apologists and (clearly enthusiasts), but maybe you could just suggest options instead of the phrasings y'all currently use. Some of us are pretty computer and tech savvy, not complete newbies.
  7. Did they take Web Classic offline? Can no longer access it. Different account using the new web interface works fine, though. It's not a too many devices issue, or a browser issue, and it happens on multiple computers and looks like it's happening to multiple users, maybe since Friday. Pretty cruddy to do without notice.
  8. Yeah, what's up with this? Can't access the web interface anymore... It's not a number of devices issue, or a browser issue, and have tried on multiple computers. Did Evernote take WEB CLASSIC offline? I tried accessing a different account which uses the newer web interface, and it looks like it works fine.
  9. Sometimes during a web session I have gone back to a note, often one that was created recently, say the last hour, and the content will be gone. The title will still be there, but the content is gone. Whatā€™s not clear? - I have been a user of Evernote for years (a decade?), and havenā€™t needed its extra data or other capabilities. I subscribed this one time to see if the data was still in ā€œnote historyā€ and it was. This losing of data happens every so often in my experience. When I searched online initially, seemed like other users had data lost. Not sure what user error there could be - all Iā€™m doing is writing my notes, saving the note, going to other tabs in the browser, coming back and writing more. Iā€™m not accidentally deleting them myself, itā€™s not a syncing error, and notes automatically save every few minutes or whatever - thatā€™s supposed to be a fail safe. This isnā€™t a question of light or heavy use (?). The most basic function of Evernote is to take notes. If it is prone to losing those notes sometimes for whatever reason, and if thereā€™s an easy way to get those notes back (history), then why is Evernote making money off of a bug by making you pay to get those notes back that it lost? You canā€™t even send them a support message without subscribing, I believe.
  10. It's kind of a scam that notes will sometimes disappear, and the only way you can retrieve them is by using the History Function, which is a paid subscription, or by sending a help desk message, which is also a paid subscription. To be clear, this isn't a sync issue - this is using the web interface, often on a newly created note that has been "saved" multiple times during the session already - but randomly you'll come back to the note at some point, and all the content will be gone (but available in History for a fee!). What horribly unreliable service, when you can't even trust the most basic function it offers - note taking.
