  1. @Saphyre for horizontal lines / dividers or checkboxes you can as well use markdown-like inline codes. if you enter „-“ 3times followed by a space you get a divider line, „[]“ followed by a space will insert a checkbox (at least inside a paragraph)
  2. This rule and workaround has worked before v10. With v10 EN seems do do so only while choosing the first picture to be added as thumbnail preview. At least on EN web v10 Version every try to change pictures didn‘t work in my case. There the old picture even was displayed after deleting. Havn‘t tried on desktop, because there I‘m still running legacy (with changed preview pictures...)
  3. Unfortunately EN iOS 10.4 is even slow on newer devices which are not high end (in my case: ipad 2019, 32 gb and enough free memory, at least before v10...😞 Loading slow, memory consumption high, changing apps while editing longer notes for copy and paste nearly impossible. EN loses focus most of the time, sometimes even giving memory fully free, so loading, opening, finding focus starts new... Spoken for fluently note editing - in my case - this makes EN nearly not usable. That's why I tend to do textwork and editing in other apps (with better markdown support anyway) while working with iOS... which would rise the question why using EN any further if I'd had to work with iOS most time, but this is not the case 🙃 For heavens sake I still can use v10 web-interface for editing, legacy on Windows for organizing and android (legacy) while not at home and using mobile for fast reseach Surely I would like to have a better and synchronized, performant cross-plattform approach, but so far EN 10 messed it all up... 😢😭 (but I still hope EN get's things fixed soon ...)
  4. "another question" should then be raised in another forum-topic. (Please don't hijack topics, this messes up everything). answer may be - as discussed to several other topics: the new version isn't natively programmed and integrated in your/our android / device environment. for cross-functionality and better common code development v10 needs to be kind of emulated in a special "Electron"-environment. This environment and changed content source sync processes need time to load, ram-space to store and battery power to be hold... (not only on android, but also on iOS, in the web-interface and on battery driven laptops/macbooks...) 😭 but as far as I can see EN is working on it and improving performance from release to release 😉
  5. Good to hear that performance issues in principle could be solved. But I would rather prefer a modern Evernote version - as a web service... - wich would work sufficiently and fast even if you have non high tech devices, which needn‘t be old, but may be consumer standard and it should work even well if your internet bandwidth isn’t the fastest. I would also doubt that this solution will lead to a mentionable conversion rate from free basic to paying premium. (But anyway if time will come I will consider an iphone 12 pro... 😉)
  6. Same problem here (without clicking on "home" !!!). AFAIK this is a new issue which I am confronted with for the first time only since the last update 10.6.9 released 14.01.2021...
  7. Welcome to the club, this new and intended behavior has already been detected and discussed in several other images. I would suggest to read in theses issues why there are these two alternatives and which pros and cons have already been discussed. A simple search for checkbox an/or checklist might help...
  8. See that EN has just released Android Version 10.4, with quite a lot of fixes: Additionally they added / restored an EN widget. Missing of widgets was , as far as I can see, one of the most criticized lacks of v10 for Android and led to several harsh 1-star ratings and comments in Google Play Store. May be they stalled the roll out because of this and other issues. And may be we will see EN v10.4 now soon again in Google Play Store....
  9. Who „you“? Don‘t forget this is primarily a user to user forum... So me or us won’t be able to fix anything. I think that soon restoring broken / lost functionality is something most of us would wish most for v10, but don‘t forget: xmas is just over...😉
  10. O.k. Good bye and good luck, I will stay with EN!
  11. Totally agree, this probably has been planned and developed parallel for months. It might just have been ready for delivering from ENs side of view. I deeply understand frustration and anger about issues and missing and so far not implemented or even (re)developed functions in v10. But I simply don‘t get how some of us can complain about shipping this new feature - again parallel - with other features and fixes. Do you want EN to hold back new and ready to serve functions which can improve workflows and give more options?
  12. Checkboxes (without strikethrough and not as list) are useful and give a better overview if used inside a paragraph or as kind of complex form. Logic is as well opposite of checklists: an opted checklist item stands for „done“ in a kind of to do list an opted checkbox item stands for „chosen“ option or „to do“ in a kind of form If you organize a grocery list for example opted checkboxes give you a fast and better overview on mobile which of your standard products are to buy this time (checklist items in this case deliver a worse to read list...)
  13. If I‘m not wrong this is an issue which had already been reported as issue a couple of days ago in a ticket to a beta testing forum, which erratically was to read public
  14. Who needs 50 notes on a home dashboard or even more 🤫 ???
  15. But isn‘t this what we were talking about here the last hours as potential EN strategy? Just how to deliver enough values and „unique selling points“ for new users and non power users to change from basic to premium? This surely is no big thing or game changer for power users and no reason to upgrade to v10, but it is still a step forward in development.
  16. Just out of curiosity: Isn't this out of focus at this place? Can't we be just happy that there is at least one new feature which delivers at least a little bit of additional value to v10 and follow these questions at other threads? Let's better just do it step by step and topic by topic...
  17. Totally agree, and how ShaneD's actual post shows, EN starts to announce delivering the first really new feature - with additional content only for paying users, to deliver unique selling points (the former - may be even by EN itselves - leaked "home"-dashboard: see:
  18. Just to make it sure: Evernote is in my eyes primarily a noting taking app, not a spell checking app... I’do agree that it is helpful to have a fully working spell checking routine. But programming a completely new version from scratch and ground in a new environment every „basic“ feature is starting as additional feature to add, when time has come. And even if spell checking is a common feature implementing this - without to much additional bad effects for memory consumption or battery drain - may be quite a challenge... But may be you may give us and EN light and vision how to do this en passent?
  19. Yes, this could be the right interpretation. In fact there are very many issues and complains with the rather unified iOS versions. With Android there are a couple of additional problems to face by EN. Unlike with iOS there are many different branded Android versions. Technical equipment often isn‘t as strong and high end as on apple products. issues with battery drain, memory consumption and low performance may be much bigger with Android than with iOS... I am having an (upper class) Android mobile. And I have experience with every v10version on my iOS ipad 2019 since 17th September 2020. I am not very eager to try out Evernote v10 on my mobile until EN gets things fixed and running smooth. Don‘t want to take part in another worldwide life-betatest with my well working Android mobile...
  20. Table editing works fine on web version v10, even better then on desktop with legacy. But you have to make sure, that you use the actual editor.
  21. Setting solely probably won‘t help anything anyway. This only will give the possibility to change the default language the chromium machine in EN v10s Electron base uses for spellcheck to another language. This will not help with multi-language texts or with special words, e.g. technical or legal. Therefore v10 must get a full set of personalized spellcorrection features, including a user dictionary, dialogs and spellcorrection routines. That is a much thicker board to drill...
