  1. 100% of those that try to add a note beyond the 50 note limit will know.
  2. Yes, there are a few threads on it. The problem has been on and off for a while now, myself included.
  3. I really wish they would consider a beta program. Almost every release has introduced new errors which just compounds their support problem. Of course, another solution would be to do better testing … but I think that may be crazy talk.
  4. I still, though rarely, see this as well. Somewhere I read that Evernote was in the process of updating their task sync. I assumed this to be different from RTE which is already implemented. Does anyone know the status of this? Maybe I was hallucinating 🙂 .
  5. Glad to hear that you are up and running again. They made some recent changes to improve the initial download speed. Sounds like they worked.
  6. The troll comment was uncalled for. People here, for the most part, are just trying to help. Have you done what @agsteele recommended above? "Please DM @Federico Simionato with details including EN logs and the URL/Note ID for the affected note." Support is very backlogged. Nothing for us to defend there ... it is a mess, but Federico is taking data loss seriously. DM him.
  7. I haven’t read the entire note trail so maybe you’ve tried this already. It sounds like the database on your windows system may be corrupt, so what I’m suggesting is to delete the app and when it asks, chose to remove the data. Then go to the web and delete the duplicates, or rename them. Basically clean this up the way you want. After the database looks good on the web now reinstall the Windows app. It will download a new, and hopefully fixed database that matches what you see on the web.
  8. Yes. After you do this, go to the web and remove the offending notes. Once all of these notes are gone then reinstall the desktop app. It will then download a new local database from the server.
  9. I haven’t noticed that particular problem posted before. Evernote is at the “Legacy is highly discouraged and close to ending point.” V10 uses a different sync technology and Legacy doesn’t support some of the new features such as tasks. They no longer provide links to Legacy download but you can find it on sites such as filehippo. That said, if one is concerned with exporting from v10 and instead wants to export from Legacy, that should still be possible. Edit: Someone just posted about missing titles. Maybe a new issue?
  10. Under the (now old) free plan they really weren’t limiting the storage, only controlling the rate of accumulation. Each month you got to continually add to it. The newly announced 50 note free plan now does limit the total storage. A very good move IMO.
  11. I’d like to add #11 to the list: I think BS under estimated the complexity of the Evernote system and built a support team around that expectation and then made several quick decisions that didn’t work out to be as smooth or easy as they expected. Also, many of their software updates have included new problems. They are pretty quick to get them fixed but these generate more problem tickets that just add to the support difficulty. I think they will get this under control but it will take some time to dig out from this support perfect storm. I’ll admit that I’m a little surprised by all this. They are an experienced team and this isn’t new to them, but they will right the ship. I think it is just harder than they planned.
  12. I believe that shedding accounts that don’t provide any income is part of the intended outcome. Sure, they would like for people to convert over to a paid plan, but if they don’t and instead leave, that is also in the win column. In the mobile apps there is a send feedback option.
  13. The reason for the change is because it is not a sustainable business model. Personally I wish they had come to this conclusion sooner and had done a better job communicating it to users.
  14. if you find the export slow down consistent it would be helpful to open a support ticket. I also run the GitHub export script. After the initial backup it only downloads any changes and I run it in the background. If there is a slowdown, I’ll never notice it.
  15. Evernote has one product. It is just not sustainable to give it away for free to millions and expect the far smaller number of subscribers to cover the cost. I hate subscriptions as well, but it does force me to evaluate which ones to pay for and which to drop.
  16. I’m going out on a limb here, but I don’t think you will be missed.
  17. If you haven’t already it sounds like time to open a support request. You are describing pretty unique behavior. The support team should be able to figure out what is happening from your activity logs. They may need to do some repair to your database.
  18. You are late to this discussion. It is old news, but yes the new owners have raised the price and ended the grandfathered plans. There is already much discussion in the forum. Grinding of teeth, indifference and cost increase justifications. We have it all, though no one is “happy” about the increase. You should have received an email about one month before renewal informing you of the change. Some said they haven’t received one, but many of us did. Feel free to register your complaint directly to Evernote. This is basically a user forum with little employee presence. You now get to join the rest of us in making a decision. You can test other options to see if you can find a different app that works well for you as a replacement, or you can accept the new price and continue on. Drop to monthly if you need some time to check out options, or drop to the free plan (with plan restrictions) for a bit, but there appears to be changes coming to the free plan so that may not be a viable option for long term. Some have reported being offered a 40% discount to come back when they dropped down to the free plan. Personally, I’ve test driven several possible replacements and Evernote still works the best for me, even at the new price, so I’ve reenlisted for another year.
  19. Yet you still continued on for 12 years and are now upset that it is being removed ...
  20. You can't see the economics in this business decision? Personally, as a paying user, I'm glad to see that my subsidizing of the free accounts appears to be ending.
  21. Well, you asked for the ability to freeze the first row of a table which is a function of Excel, so I don’t see what the issue is, unless you are upset because I didn’t just agree with you. Request away and if they implement it, I may even use it. Being called a spambot/ai is a first for me, thank you.
  22. I’ll consider it a start 🙂.
