  1. Considering the change to the free option Evernote should really consider dropping the device limit they have. It makes no sense now and it causing numerous problems for folks trying to migrate away.
  2. I can't imagine that Evernote can do this on its own. Do you have any type of third party helper app such as IFTTT running? Or does Google Sheets have a save to Evernote option that is maybe enabled and triggered with autosave?
  3. Maybe you would have but they tried this for several years as the Plus plan and they eventually ended the option. Maybe not enough takers, or too many dropped from the higher plan to the lower plan reducing revenue. Personally, I think a low price, minimal option plan would do better today, but they have decided, at this time anyway, not to have one.
  4. If you scroll down the list, you should also see a Technical Issues option. If you are a free user, maybe the options are limited.
  5. They do make it difficult. Someone elsewhere provided this link. Maybe it will work better. Submit a Support Request. On a mobile device, it is easier to find. Settings - Support - Submit a support request
  6. You might want to submit a support request. This may have worked in the past because I recall being puzzled at times by the notebook it was selecting. Maybe it wasn't too smart back then either šŸ™‚.
  7. I agree that other sort options would be very helpful. Hopefully it is on their todo list at some point. Others have asked for this as well. Without access to the code, we don't know how easy or difficult this may be.
  8. On the left hand side there is a notebooks icon. On a Mac, the keyboard shortcut is:
  9. 10.68.3 is the current one, just released. If the problem still exists go to https://help.evernote.com. You will need to login to file a support request.
  10. The option is still there in the clipper settings and is called smart filing. I just checked and mine is (surprisingly) selected. I've always just selected the notebook that I want the clip to go to. I'll now pay attention to see how often it is correct. I think the OP was referring to scanning and not clipping. The Evernote scanner may have had something similar in the past.
  11. If you are only testing the backup, instead of deleting the original notebook and then importing the enex file, I would suggest you leave the original in place and instead import the notebook into a new "temp" notebook. After you have checked out what you want, delete the temp notebook, keeping the original in place. This will avoid the broken links issue mentioned above.
  12. In the old days this used to be called the ā€œTrunk.ā€ It was a collection of add ons from a vibrant 3rd party development community. I would check it from time to time to see what was new. There were many clever add ons and a few I used. When Evernote stabilizes I hope we see the API updated and developers see enough future in Evernote to again help try and expand the possibilities of Evernote.
  13. We have had this discussion before. You are not trapped. If you continue to have trouble with One Note there are other apps that are easier to migrate to.
  14. Yes, same result as using the open with Evernote option in the menu.
  15. Unfortunately, this isnā€™t out of the blue. This is due to several factors that were all within Bending Spoons control. Several controversial or bad (depending on oneā€™s point of view) decisions made in a very short period of time plus the inexcusable lack of testing they do before pushing out new versions. Honestly, sometimes I think they push out more bugs than they fix. I am with you in hoping they get this under control soon.
  16. Interesting. I think there was another post recently suggesting there may be a difference in enex files between legacy and v10, but I donā€™t remember anything conclusive.
  17. Iā€™ve had the duplicate file issue in the past but not recently. Another option is to not use the import folder and instead go to the directory where your files are located, select the new ones and then open with Evernote. That will copy them into Evernote each into its own note. It is not automated and does require you to remember to take this extra step. I did this for a while when I had the duplication problem.
  18. It wouldnā€™t cut it for a $40/year app. Support is currently abysmal.
  19. For those wanting to give OneNote a try, this appears to be current though I have not tried it. https://www.wikihow.com/Migrate-from-Evernote-to-OneNote
  20. Thatā€™s a new one to me. Looks interesting. Glad it is working out for you.
  21. I tried One Note a few years back and the import process failed miserably for me, plus I wasnā€™t a fan of the interface. I donā€™t think there is an officially supported importer any more for One Note, yet others have reported migrating successfully to them so they found a way. Many seem to be happy with Joplin. Iā€™ve not tried it so canā€™t comment. You will see many different note app competitors mentioned here because there is no one perfect replacement for Evernote, but depending on how you use it and what is important to you, there are several good options out there. We all have different use cases so you will need to do some testing to see what works best for you. Iā€™m a lvl 5 and donā€™t think Iā€™ve beaten down any free users. Please refrain from generalizations.
  22. You may not be aware but Evernote was recently sold. Iā€™m guessing profitability was not there. The new owners are trying to get this back on solid ground, hence the changes to the free program and the cost increase. Online documentation is down level and their support system appears to be swamped. That said, they are updating the software and fixing problems so Iā€™ve signed up for another year to see where this goes. It is a big price increase and it is understandable if the value isnā€™t there for some and they want to move on. There are numerous options out there, so decide what features are important to you, do your research and good luck with your decision. Whichever app you decide on, check out their export options. Nothing is forever.
  23. Yes, you need the desktop app to export. You have asked this question in three places. For the benefit of others, please pick one and ask any follow up questions there. I suggested options in one of your other threads.
  24. OneNote is problematic but that is on their import process, not Evernoteā€™s export process. Some report success, others donā€™t. There is no perfect replacement for Evernote, but there are many to consider depending on what is important to you and on what devices you want to use it on. Options, in addition to OneNote, that are often mentioned here include: Joplin, Obsidian, Notion, Upnote, Bear, Devonthink, Apple notes, and Google Keep to name a few.
