  1. I have also been having a lot of search issues. Advanced syntax not always working, weird results, notes that don't show up. I see this suggestion to use the third party Appcleaner to uninstall Evernote a lot. Is this really necessary? Can I just use the Evernote uninstall/delete files option within the app itself? I am using a work laptop and can't just download third party apps myself, and, having looked at the Appcleaner website, I sincerely doubt the IT folks will install this program for me.
  2. Hello! For the last day or two I have been noticing some lag when I scroll longer notes. Nothing too long but, for example, I am scrolling a plain text note now that has about 2500 words in it. As I scroll down the note the screen is blank and it takes anywhere from 1-3 seconds for the text to load. This is a note I have looked at a half dozen times in the last few months so it's definitely converted to RTE by now.... Is anybody else having this trouble? I haven't noted any other slow downs in my wifi signal with other apps, but could this be the problem? The time lag is not significant but just something I had not noticed before today. Thanks! EDIT: Noticed after I posted that this is happening not just with the note contents but also notes list in the sidebar and home. Tried restarting Evernote. Running the latest version downloaded yesterday. Not sure if I should escalate this and delete the whole program and reinstall. Thanks if anyone has thoughts.
  3. Saw this on YouTube and thought folks here would find it interesting. Federico Simionato had a detailed interview with Evernote expert Vlad Campos.
  4. For what it’s worth, I use both Evernote and Obsidian. I started using Obsidian to develop an exit strategy in case things went south about a year or so ago, but recently I just updated my subscription to Evernote as well. (I don’t pay for Obsidian sync but rather use iCloud) I really like Obsidian, and it has a lot of things going for it. The community plug-ins are great, and the ability to use simple markdown and completely local/transferable files are things I like. Tabs and Split View are useful. The ease of linking and backlinking is a huge benefit (even though Evernote also has this feature it’s just a bit more steps to use). A lot of people are crazy about graph view, but I don’t find it that helpful. That said, I still find a lot of benefit in Evernote, including the ease of use, especially on mobile. (IMO the Obsidian mobile app is barely usable). Tables, images, and other forms of multimedia in notes is way easier and more effective in Evernote. And of course the web clipper! Personally, I have been using Obsidian more for writing research notes and memos, and very early stages of drafting. That said, I still use Evernote every day for doing online research and project planning. Maybe one day I will consolidate, but so far I find benefits in both apps. I have been using Evernote for over 10 years, so I have a lot of notes. I have transferred a handful over if I want to work with them in Obsidian, but But I just don’t see the point of transferring thousands of notes over to obsidian. Seems like a waste of time to me, when I can still access them in Evernote. (And could even if I had just a free plan) FWIW, Vlad Campos, an Evernote expert, has a channel on YouTube with lots of great videos including how to transfer from Evernote into Obsidian, if you need help. Anyway, those are my 2 cents.
  5. I am having the same problem. Not only are notes super slow to load (Notes that have already been converted to RTE) but the task function is largely unusable for the last two days. Tasks won't save or can't be edited, or edits to tasks don't save. Ironically, it was after updating to 10.57.10 that this started. Super frustrating.
  6. Hello there. Thanks. Yes they are available online. They just don’t appear in that section of the app. I have to search or them or go to the particular notebook where they are located. So, I was curious why they weren’t appearing in the “Offline” menu. Sorry for not clarifying and thanks.
  7. Hello, I am having an issue with trying to use offline notes on iOS. I have designated several as offline access, and they appear to be downloaded (grey arrow), but they aren’t appearing in the Offline menu. I have restarted the app several times and am up to date. If anybody has any ideas, I’d appreciate it. I will also contact support. thanks.
  8. In a recent topic, several people noted the nice workflow of annotating PDFs in Evernote on a Mac (and I presume a PC), where you can open the PDF, annotate it and save it, and it saves back to Evernote. I am wondering about if and how this works on Evernote iOS. I annotate a lot of PDFs on my iPad, and I would love to be able to do something similar, but I have never been able to figure it out. Even if I download a PDF file into my Files, it doesn't sync back when it is saved. Does anybody know if there is a workflow for this kind of thing on Evernote iOS? Anyway, thanks!
  9. Thank you all, this is interesting. What I am getting is really this is more of a tool for bulk importing items into Evernote. (To @Mike P's question, I am using all version of Evernote - Mac desktop, iOS, Web (on a PC)...). I don't really do a lot of scanning like @PinkElephantor @gazumped. Most of my PDFs are downloaded from research databases, so they are OCRed. I will experiment with setting up downloads into an import folder so they are automatically put into Evernote. However, I usually have to annotate my PDFs in another app (Preview on Mac, GoodReader on iOS), so that is why I asked about the syncing function -- like do the files continually sync from the folder into Evernote or is just a single upload and then that's it? (A separate but related topic is, I would really love to do more with PDF files in Evernote, but I have not found a good way to make use of them. IMO the annotation tools in Evernote are not really usable. My ideal scenario would be to do everything in one place - upload the PDF, annotate it in Evernote, and then write up summaries, etc. Anyway, I can only dream one day they fix the PDF annotation tools...) Thanks!
  10. I just learned about this feature recently from an Evernote Youtube video (h/t vladcampos), which I am shocked by since I have been using Evernote since 2010! On the surface it seems very intriguing, especially since my job is very research/writing/pdf heavy. I have seen some users like @PinkElephantand @agsteelepost about it when troubleshooting or answering questions on the forums. But, I would be curious to hear how how do you all use this feature to improve your work? Does this provide, like, a Dropbox-level of sync-ability? Or do you just use it to get a big batch of files into Evernote to work with them there? What are your use cases? Just curious to learn what others do so I can figure out how it could work for me. Anyway, thanks for reading!
  11. Sorry to revive an old thread, but this came up in a Google search for the same thing. I am intrigued by this solution, but when I tried it, the new note created from the ENEX file was put into a new notebook called "ENEX .....". Does this happen for you? Is there a way to change this default setting so that it pops up in an existing notebook? Thanks!
  12. Hello there! Wondering if anybody has had any trouble with using Evernote in multitask split screen on iOS. I have used it quite a bit but one issue I find is that oftentimes when I switch between apps the Evernote note reloads and sometimes it even takes me back to a list of notes. It is a bit tedious every time I have to click to edit the note and scroll to the place, etc. any idea how to turn off this continual refreshing? Thanks.
