  1. Having tried local notebooks before, but afraid they can't be seen?
  2. After updating to version 10 all of your notes will be downloaded to your computer from the server. If you check "Save Data" which means you don't have to download them again when logging in again. They now upload every note you create to their server, and no notes can be chosen to stay only local.
  3. While they want every platform to be similar, iPad cannot have the same (number of) functions as Mac. For users, it would be great if iOS and Android smartphone can have the same UI and functions. Smartphone, tablets and laptops can have different workflow and interaction while keeping the same functionality. I know this is more difficult, but truly beneficial to users. This Mac version is not as disastrous as iOS one (surprisingly that it is a bit faster than Notion in which it is also based on Electron framework) but will take away a lot of features that some users have, and some functions take one more step, like renaming tags that I no longer tap the name and correct it immediately (now I have to call out the menu to choose 'rename').
  4. If there are some symbols (e.g. ".") included in the name of notebooks or stacks, try to remove them to see if everything is shown normally.
  5. Are they stacks, or notebooks? I find that if their names include symbols like "." The whole stacks cannot be shown and instead the empty space like yours.
  6. I turn it on but still can't show all strokes. But bring back high resolution.
  7. Sketch resolution has improved (but you still have to turn off Scribble for Apple Pencil). Stack can appear on sidebar (used to be empty). Still empty if there are more than stacks. To be updated.
  8. The shortcuts have changed compared to previous version. And they have markdown on the latest version, at least the heading. (but on iPhone and iPad you can't)
  9. Not to mention users who have iPhones w/ iOS 12. If you just minimise effects for users these two months, I would say keeping v8.24.6 is better than nothing. And keeping up both versions won't let you miss v10.0.x, you can still enjoy the latest version while others can use v8.24.6 in the short run. There are some users here speaking for Evernote while not considering other kinds of users and other circumstances, justifying their cases only valid, denying others and even denying suggestions that can satisfy all. They have been driving other users away for a long time, and Evernote finds no reason to change due to those 'loyal' customers.
  10. If you are true, the current Android, Windows, Mac users should not be able use Evernote now as they still don't have the update. Keeping both versions as I have mentioned before will be the best solution. I don't see any reasons we are forced to keep only one of both. So there are ways to bring back v8.24.6 while keeping v10.0.2. Let Evernote upload the former to the App Store. Call it Evernote Legacy app. That is it. Evernote will not be the first to do this. Many apps like iA Writer and GoodNotes have tried before and Apple didn't pull the apps down.
  11. What I observe is the follows (some of them may be fixed in v10.0.1), on iPadOS 14.0.1 with my iPad Pro (10.5-inch, 2017): Notes duplication without reason should have been fixed. I only tried adding two notes and editing one note. Sync has been fixed so that you can see all the latest updates on all devices without having to force quit. Gallery view is not as slow as before, but swiping will still feel sluggish. PDF can be read normally, and editing is smooth (although at first is a bit laggy). Not fixed: Unnecessary spacing in Shortcuts sidebar. Sketching results in low resolution and writing/drawing using Apple Pencil is hard. For Web Clip: I haven't used it before, but this time I don't notice any errors. But you can only read and can't edit. No simplify formatting for the whole note is possible.
  12. These days I removed my Evernote app. After v10.0.2 is launched I would like to download the app again. After entering username and password, there was a "Try Evernote Premium for free" message as below. When I tapped X on top-right corner, I was told to add a new meeting note and brought to an empty note list. After deleting the app and reinstalling it again, everything is normal. I don't know how frequent this problem will occur. (Sorry for not capturing other screenshots.) (I am a premium user with in-app purchase. Maybe it's due to the bug linking to the App Store side.)
  13. I don't see v8.24.6 is the past, and in App Store you can see some app developers keeping both versions until the new one has almost all of the features from the previous. Especially the case of Evernote that they rebuild an app from zero, every company can't rebuild it bringing all the feature in one time. There should be a transitional period. If Evernote release a update called v8.24.7 and mention that they have another app called "Evernote X" (or Evernote 10 whatever you like) for users who are curious about the new workflow and features. Will people be frustrated and will their business be affected? I don't think I am throwing back how they could do. I am talking what they can do now: they can upload v8.24.6 back to the App Store while keeping v10.0.1. They can act now and in a few days so that some people can use some features like Apple Watch/web clipper/printing notes... again. Workaround is of course possible but doesn't mean the company can still be silent speeding up bug fix without communication. I don't mind being called a rant, but only Evernote itself can show me I am totally wrong.
  14. If you read my other posts I did provide some suggestions. I have stressed that Evernote can have both versions on the App Store as what other companies like GoodNotes 5 and 4, in order to allow users to keep their workflow while allowing company more time to build a better app. I also ask the company to respond more, not just leaving the support team to answer users individually. Most importantly workaround is not enough to cover the disaster. Only the whole team can resolve totally. Communication needs to improve. Tell them they hear the users. To tell you that I am preparing for leaving (like using Notion now), but as my subscription ends on August next year and I cannot ask for a prorated refund, I need to keep it. I do admit I have sentiments while there are words that are not helpful, but as I have been a user since 2011 who uses it every day, I somehow want to see the company become better in spite of a plan to leave.
  15. Thanks 윤현규 for details. The first point shows the team does not have passion and enthusiasm to rebuild a better app. The last point is an evidence showing Evernote is cheating customers. They don't fulfill the promise of giving what they say. This shows that they don't have any difficulties for this app. They just want to ruin customers including enterprises. We have raised issues and suggested better ways to handle, but is the company willing to hear us? Or treat us as idiots and even products?
  16. What made me feel confident and even proud of Evernote is that the CEO Ian Small told us that they were paying a great effort to solve almost all of the problems occurred long long ago in the company. They have a series of videos to explain that and I was willing to wait patiently. But the brutal fact is that, that CEO just does something for marketing. He speaks something good and tries to hide something that users may need to prepare for. Most worrying is that he tends to ignore problems when there are voices here, Reddit and Twitter... This kind of company and leadership is the worst as he only gives you the good impression but it turns out that they are in opposite directions as you think. Maybe I think like a victim. I should think he just showed us what they were doing through videos only. Not a detailed note showing the roadmap and how we have to prepare for (some missing features temporarily). I should notice that first sign, and prepare myself to leave earlier. (I just renewed a month ago) They like to remove features by not informing users first: this had happened in v8.0 and I remember that they didn't put back some of the features to the app they had promised. Considering the worse communication, should I believe they will bring back features like Apple Watch? Better not to trust them. Trust yourself you can find better alternatives for better self.
  17. I found that downloading is a bit faster, while the all downloaded successfully is not ensured. say when I add a note on iPad, the iPad side will have all downloaded notes on that folder, while on iPhone side it is still downloading (endlessly) due to that note. But force quitting the app will help.
  18. Apart from the resolution and quality of the sketch, the version 10 can turn your existing high-resolution sketches into lower those if you edit them. Evernote doesn't only let me make notes harder, but also ruin your work. They just treat you as a product.
  19. I do not have Apple Watch, but what they are doing makes me feel that they treat customers as products.
  20. Same problem occurred in mine. Don't understand why PNGs are no longer compatible. Premium users are treated like free users but you have paid the money.
  21. Happened in v8.0 at least, but at that time they released fix much quickly than now.
  22. I realise that this guy -- Ian Small is good at marketing, rather than communicating. Much worse than the former Google CEO who was at least willing to write a blog article to apologize to the public and address the privacy issues. The not-ready v10.0 is not one of the problem which is just resolved by customer service. It is the same level of the crisis of privacy in 2016.
  23. It's definitely human problem, rather than the infrastructure. They give up communicating with users other than YouTube, like what sort of features will be temporarily disabled, and what will be totally abandoned. After rolling out the public version, they just let the support team to resolve users' issues, which are expected to (and should be the most effective when it is) be handled by the management. They choose to speak something good of Evernote like better features and ignore problems and even crises at this moment. They insist on releasing buggy, unusable v10.0 to the public. They could make sure the new version is usable at an acceptable level. But I have said before that, they can also launch a new app called Evernote, and make the existing one as "Evernote legacy", with a comparison table letting users know the difference between two, including what features are missing in this period. Let users try new things voluntarily and let them report and request, while other users and enterprises will not be affected by using the legacy. The legacy will still be updated only for fix and compatibility. When all features are back to the new version, they can delete the legacy. I'm not a developer, but believe some ways of doing do also matter.
