  1. Maybe he thinks he has finished a big project (v10) so that he is enjoying his long long vacation? I think he has to STEP DOWN if I am not wrong.
  2. We need to show empathy for those whom we call rants, think why they do this and that. I am really sick of Evernote never willing to respond. Many of those have been kind and polite for many years, providing detailed and valuable feedbacks and suggestions, and even spending 20 hours a day to test the new version. However they are not respected and they have no choice now. Did we see that fact? You can see Mac/Windows clients still have many works to do, but seems they are giving up iOS version - more than four weeks not updating and improving. Issues on iOS is more serious than on desktop. Especially the "view only" issue which should be fixed within a few days after v10.1 although there is a workaround.
  3. I think Apple will consider users' experience and allow legacy app at least temporarily. User experience on Evernote is also the user experience on iPhone. Apple doesn't want to ruin it. It is obvious that Evernote is not willing to communicate with not only users, but also Apple. But if Evernote insists on not submitting legacy iOS, I will see how I can ask Apple to pull down this buggy and maybe not secure v10.1 Evernote app. More than four weeks not improving! Many users who don't know they can find a workaround in this forum have been having issues of notes uneditable ("view only") for almost a month!
  4. Drag and drop on Legacy version will create notes with appropriate formats. Unfortunately there are no ways to import on new version.
  5. For Mac/Windows you can use Legacy version or download v7.14 (you can find it in forum) again. For iPhone, sadly no.
  6. I wanna ask if there are staff who are also on our same boat but can't voice out. Hope they can tell us some secret of the company through tech media anonymously (They did it before). I don't think all the staff agree to what the company is doing at this moment.
  7. I have done it but because I renewed through Apple, so I requested through there and stated the product was not within my expectations, and Apple allowed me to get back the money. I do strongly recommend others to get the refund, especially if you have renewed through Apple no more than three months you are eligible to do that. (I am not sure if Google Play and Windows Store can have this policy) I don't think I am taking revenge on the company, but users who don't think it has met their expectations can have a right to act. Especially after we have tried every means to communicate with the company. After we provided sincere suggestions. For years.
  8. Evernote is more than a product like a Moleskine notebook, which you don't have a relationship with them after buying except that you have to exchange a new one because of quality. Evernote is a cloud service with software as a means to deliver features every second 24/7. Maintenance of services is needed all the times, and even some issues cannot be avoided, they should be working hard to prevent these to minimum. This fact is where trust lies, and trust implies communication is necessary. The relationship between users and developers/companies has been changing and developing over decades, from merely a product to a service, and even more than services. A service may become like a nation because they store (more and more of) our privacy on the server. Now they are still an enterprises but they are taking more roles as governments. No matter what happens in the future, everything is changing and I won't be surprised people one day will call for democracy in enterprises and companies will consider that. But until now people are concerning more and more and some companies like Google are releasing transparency reports every year as a communication means to reassure the public that their service is reliable and trustworthy. I don't want to say too far, but at this moment I regard note-taking apps as a kind of services which trust is a must, and so communication. I store my data on THEIR server not only on my devices especially when they dump local notebooks. I choose to store THEIRS because I trust them and I find it reliable so I can access and make use of my data all the time. I choose not to because I don't trust them and wonder what they will do to harm me (like losing notes, notes no longer can be exported...).
  9. Even on Twitter you can see many people who switch to alternatives. If more people especially Premium users decide to leave, and basic free users find it not satisfied when Evernote announced two-device-only policy, the revenue of the company will fall. Evernote will have to choose between shutting down the company, or have to change to accommodate users' needs better. I see the trend of falling because Evernote has kept silent all the times after introducing their new iOS version. Nothing improves except slow bug fixing updates. Their attitude has prepared for their worsening future. For users who subscribes through Apple's App Store, already finds alternatives and has just renewed for no more than 3 months, I urge you to consider requesting for refund even Evernote itself does not have refund policy.
  10. Move your cursor to the tag you want, and a "..." will show. Tap it and there is a menu like below.
  11. At least Firefox is usable, Evernote is NOT. White screen, notes loss, unable to edit...
  12. Be prepared that it will be much slower, or unusable, battery consuming. They fall behind Apple's development.
  13. I suspect they don't know, or they wanna convert Evernote into another Facebook: pop up COLORFUL UI. See their recent email that their selling points for v10 are so vague, like "amazing fast search". How fast is it?
  14. It may be late for Evernote to admit the problem after two months of introducing new version, but it's better than nothing.
  15. When iOS v10.0 was released, I already urged here the company to quickly fixed bugs every 2 to 3 days, but they ended up every week, and since v10.0.4, three weeks to v10.1. The iOS is still more problematic than Mac/Windows although some may think it's usable. Not only me but many people do urge the management to respond officially. This is the core problem of the company. Removal of functions, buggy, bloatwares... all are symptoms (just like running nose doesn't mean flu but also the possibility of COVID-19). It seems still so many people overlook the root behind - the attitude of Evernote makes everything less hopeful so users are now looking for alternatives. Do understand that you are more than using a paper notebook like Moleskine. You are involved in a service and a product is a medium of providing services that needs to be reliable all the times. Bugs cannot be totally avoidable but the company needs to try its best not to affect customers' workflow and business. Some functions even not many users use can be an important part of the service as they can create values in it. You can't easily dump it just because only 2% are engaged in those. No. You are involved in more than a service, it's trust and relationship. That's why people hope Ian Small can admit this failure. I have already said communication can solve all problems. If he could do that in the official blog when iOS version 10.0 was just released like what ex-CEO did in 2016, I am sure no one will leave Evernote and are willing to wait and see. He does miss more and more opportunities to save the company. I like the new version but can't use it because the company's attitude doesn't reassure me to stay on the boat, and I am worried that one day I will lose notes like others. Their ignorance of crises drives me away and I don't want to put my risk in such that company. That company doesn't regard users as humans, but pigs that can be fooled.
  16. I do also have this issues especially when searching. iOS and web as well for me. These deleted notes haven't appeared on the Legacy version. I have already submitted a ticket and am waiting for reply.
  17. You can search by multiple tags, but search... Type the keyword of a tag (no need to type "tag:") until there are relevant tags shown under the apply filter. Tap that tag you want. Tap the search bar. Type the keyword of another tag and then tap that tag you want. Tap the search bar again Type the keyword of another tag and then tap that tag you want. Tap the search bar again ... But it's much crazier than on v8.24.6. Plus I don't understand when Evernote strives to unify code base but they don't unify experience. There are so many examples...
  18. Try to add a new notebook (say "Test") in any devices to see if the app is updated to the latest. In my case deleted notes are shown just after installing an app. A new notebook will clear some errors. Don't know if this can work on your case.
  19. I can imagine how people feel when they use Evernote to keep track of their business. Although there is a Legacy version, this update can totally interrupt their work, and lack of communication lets people arouse their concern of when the Legacy will stop working if Evernote decides to break the link. A feeling of uncertainty. When I saw the animation about the shiny new app made by Evernote, I wonder if they think it's an app indispensable in life, or just a "meaningful" Facebook. At the first glance of the shiny app I like it, but random bugs these two months always keep waking me up. Stop saying Legacy because iOS does not have the Legacy one, and no official statements to reassure users how long they can use. Maybe it will be incompatible to the coming Big Sur. Who knows. Should the user avoid this by not upgrading MacOS? Finally I want to conclude communication can solve everything.
  20. Usually I can answer a short survey after contacting customer support, but in the recent two times I can't do it because they said "You have either already completed the survey or your session has expired." I took the survey just within six hours receiving the mail. How come the session has expired too early?
  21. I later resolved it by adding a new notebook. However, tags deleted are still shown on search.
  22. I face the opposite. Old on Mac and web while new on iOS. But on iOS, I can see tags which have been deleted, as well as related search results with deleted notes (only title shown).
  23. Due to my personal reason, I need to delete all my notes (with backup on other note taking app) and import notes into my Evernote. I deleted them in the Legacy version, and it showed me everything is clear. Then I tried to download v10.2.4, the latest Mac version to see if I can import the notes I wanted. During login I face a "service error" message but I could still reach the panel. However, the new app showed me there were still 11 notes with titles shown, empty content with broken thumbnail. I tried to delete them but they appear again, and I tried to add a note but the new note disappeared before I added something. I also checked the web version and something inconsistent happened. There are 50 notes there. Same, I can't delete these notes, tags and add notes. I restarted my Mac and even logout on Mac app. The app now shows 5 notes instead of 11. The changed number doesn't mean I can do more things. On my iPad, everything is clear by contrast. Except in the search page I can still see some of my tags and related results. Notes can be added and edited. The new notes on my iPad cannot be seen on Mac and web unless I switch to the Legacy. That's why many people are concerned of how long the Legacy version can be used, especially when Big Sur is coming soon. Yes I can switch to Legacy first at this moment, but the Legacy can stop working someday and the company doesn't always address customers' concern. I want to give Evernote one more and more try and try to provide a fairer argument. I am sorry even there are no total alternatives of Evernote, I have no choice but to figure out my workflow combining digital and maybe paperwork.
