  1. Completely agree - not just created dates but dates in tasks, note reminder dates and dates in the filter menu! I hadn't realised until very recently, and I still don't think it is obvious, that clicking the month or year allows you to change them indeprendently. You don't have to press the arrow icon 12 times to advance a year! i expect you'd already figured that out and I'm just being particularly slow.
  2. Known issue/feature. Numbered lists look even more stupid!
  3. But then as soon as you press enter to go to the next line it puts the preview back in again. The most reliable way I have found on windows is ctrl+K to open the create link box press tab to move to the link field ctrl+V to paste link enter to save and close the dialogue box The advantage of this over changing it manually is that it can all be achieved using the keyboard.
  4. If you include the timestamp in the url (as @PinkElephant alluded to) it works just fine. The easiest way is to go to where you want to start in the video and hit share. Click the start at box and then copy the link. You can manually modify any link by simply adding the start time required in seconds preceeded by ?t= as you can see in the picture.
  5. This thread is very old and is actually about the legacy version (6.25). In V10 step 1 followed immediately by step 4 works fine!
  6. Very strange. Definitely a Mac specific problem. Once I've clicked the arrow to reveal more than the top three I can scroll through all my saved searches. The web version behaves the same as the Windows desktop.
  7. The new version of Evernote (version 10) gets quite a lot of criticism because it doesn't (yet?) have as many features as the old (legacy) version. However none of the three specific features you mention have ever been in Evernote. Given that you decided not to use the free plan for a few weeks to give it an extended trial you will either need to get used to the EN way of doing things or accept the wasted money. There are some partial work arounds for some of the issues you mention: Background colour of notes. You can make a large, one cell table and fill it with a range of different colours. Format painter. You can modify the four styles and apply these quite easily to text Ordering of notes. There are various options including having a naming convention which allows you to sort notes alphabetically into the order you want manually changing the creation date.
  8. An interesting idea. I like the idea of dragging and dropping the tag into the search field. It does actually do something - it selects the tags! This allows you to copy them (ctrl-C) and paste them into another note. I personally wouldn't want simply clicking on a tag to filter by that tag. The up arrow doesn't seem to bad to me but may be I don't use it as often as you do. I personally think EN has put too much emphasis on the filter menu for tags. For example while I can filter by one tag from the sidebar I can no longer shift-click another tag in the sidebar to add it to the filter.
  9. @silkenpaw and @Candide I have a solution that works on windows that presumably will translate to Mac. In the old note select all the tags by ctrl-clicking the tags at the bottom of the note. Press ctrl-C to copy them to the clipboard Open the new note and click into the tag area at the bottom of the note ctrl-V to paste in the tags If you paste into a text editor you will see that it is a comma separated list which ties in with my obsevation in the previous post.
  10. I think it would be helpful if you said which platform you are using as you have posted in a "general" forum. On Windows desktop for example a pinned note is scrollable both left-right and up-down.
  11. Evernote only converts check boxes which are the at the beginning of a line. I wish they wouldn't but it doesn't look like it is going to change. The work around is therefore to just put another character first (e.g a period or even a space or two) if you want a checkbox at the beginning of the line.
  12. Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that rather than messing about with the sql database. You have basically reduced it to a very simple web scrapping problem. I saved the html page and extacted the notebooks in one line of code using the css style ("#qa-NOTEBOOK_TITLE"). Job done. Not so straightforward for tags but certainly works for notebooks.
  13. You can of course still achieve most of what you want using the advanced search syntax. Something like notebook:mynotebookname reminderTime:day -reminderTime:day+1 You will then need to change the sort order (if required) and save the search. Not sure whether the saved search will remember the sort order. Or you could leave out the notebook and then filter by notebook once you have got all the reminders.
  14. Or you could even merge the old data note with the new note which might make it easier to manually copy data between the two and make it clear it's all the same thing
  15. Nice of @skellam to like a post from almost a year ago. However the app has changed hugely in that time. The activitity that took "4 or 5 seconds" then now takes 2 or 3 seconds. Obviously not acceptable to everybody but just about OK for me and definitely going in the right direction.
  16. I think you have answered your own question. The developers are all employed by Evernote and not Hogwarts or the Ministry of Magic. 🧹
  17. There is a rather painful way of doing it which is quite slow and laborious. Select the note you want to copy the tags from and the ones you want to copy them to (even that may not be straightforward) Open the edit tags menu (eg click the tag icon in the blue multiselect menu that appears) press space to open the hierarchy if needed Scroll through and click all the blue minus signs (a blue minus means that the tag is associated with some but not all of the selected notes). They will change to ticks Hit save As I say, not straightforward. It might be worth mentioning that you can easily add a comma separated list of tags to a note by simply pasting it into the tags area at the bottom of the note. Sadly I have not yet found a way of extracting a comma separated list of tags directly from a tagged note. Copying the tags from the edit tags menu is possible but gives you a list (ie separated by CR) which needs to be converted to a comma separated list.
  18. You don't say what platform you are using but I assume from the clues it is windows desktop Works for me. You do need to be in "edit mode". ie click in the note so that the edit toolbar appears I don't fully understand what you mean by this as you can surely only show the first page of a document on screen. Are you looking at pdfs? The arrow for the next page is at the bottom. I don't find this very convenient as you have to scroll back up again to view the top of the next page. Unlike legacy you also have the option to view the pdf as "all pages" which allows for continous scrolling through the while document.
  19. If you don't mind using EN web you could easily add each note to a different tab in your browser. Not ideal.
  20. The standard solution is well documented in other threads. Change the settings for the font styles (large header, medium header etc) to how you want them. Save the note as a template. Use the template for all new notes. Same can be achieved by just saving the note and duplicating it or copying it if you prefer.
  21. I don't think there is a way. Once you have opened the note You have to use the three dots menu and then choose "open in new window". There is no keyboard shortcut for this. By contrast shortcuts within Evernote can be opened in a new window by double clicking and links to notes by ctrl-clicking.
  22. With the addition of four text styles which can be modified as you like and applied to new or existing text is this function really needed as much now?
  23. As soon as you type into the body of a note you lose the ability to add a template to it. That seems perfectly logical to me. Could you describe your use case?
  24. Sounds like a syncing problem. I assume she is filtering (e.g. clicking the tag in sidebar) for the tag. I expect if she searched for the tag (tag:tagname) she would find it. In the sektop clients filtering happens locally while search is done on the server. In mobile and web everything is on the server. If she has only just started using the V10 desktop app it will probably right itself in time as the data is downloaded. If she has been using it for a while she will probably need to force a resync, There are some suggestions here: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313378-Tips-for-troubleshooting-syncing-issues Personally I would do the following: Unclick the tools -> preferences -> save data at log out. Then log out Delete the local storage. see https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500004231762-Remove-Evernote-data-from-your-Mac-or-Windows-device log back in again. Then patiently wait for several hours/days for it to download all the data again. You will probably need to retick save data at logout
