  1. Just a reminder that a similar request already exists and can be voted up: Obviously this is something much-needed.
  2. Excellent! I've found, BTW, that I have seemed to need to reactivate the connection each year. I can't remember if they sent me a notice, but I've got an Evernote note reminding me of it--linked via Cronofy to my calendar, of course!
  3. I use Cronofy, and find it pretty effective, with only a fairly slight lag between updating a reminder time in either Evernote or Google Calendar and having it sync from one to the other. This produces Calendar events with clickable Evernote links that open a read-only version of the note in your browser. They are slightly limited, in that they can only be for the default event length and color, and will have the title of the EN note. It is also possible, as @DTLow says, to paste an Evernote link into a Calendar event (Google as well as Apple), which allows more control over the event but doesn't give you a direct link such that you can set or change a reminder in Evernote and have it show up in the event.
  4. Normally, I've updated Evernote each time a new version has come out, not always right away, but within a couple of weeks. Last year, however, before I could update I began seeing all these complaints here about formatting issues. I think some of them have gotten resolved in further updates, but then new problems get introduced, like the crippled PDF reader from Google. I haven't been using beta versions--I do some other beta testing, and it gets time consuming, since I tend to get obsessive about it. IAC, the current version of EN for Windows is working more than adequately for me, despite its issues. (I rarely use tables, so I haven't wanted to update for that.) I do update EN for Android each time a new version is issued.
  5. Glad we've been helpful, Fulton. I have to say that every time there's a new update to the Windows app, I see appalling complaints about formatting and the new PDF reader, which is Google-based (a rule of thumb: if it's inadequate or screwed up, it's from Google). That's why I'm clinging to my older version for awhile yet.
  6. I just got a Note 8, which ought to work pretty similarly. Please do give more details of what's going wrong. My notes have synced to the Evernote app on my phone without a hitch, and I've been able to find a workaround to sync Samsung Notes (for what they're worth) to my Evernote account also.
  7. I'm on Windows 7. I find the dictionary at C:\Users\{username}\Evernote\Dict\user.dic, rather than in AppData. It's a straight-up text file, so it's easy to edit. That first thread was fairly old, and the second one seemed to be about MS Office. FWIW, in Evernote, Tools > Options > General, at the bottom of the dialog either Open Database Folder or Open Log Folder will get you to the vicinity.
  8. I'm not using the current version of Evernote, but in my slightly older version there is a dialog bar when I hover my mouse at the top of every PDF. The bar has several options. The second option is Annotate (an a with a circle around it, like @). When I click that, the annotation tool (very slowly) opens. Do you not have that? If not, what's your version of Evernote?
  9. Welcome to the forums, @yusef388! This is a well-known issue, and it has been under discussion in this thread for over a year and a half: Unfortunately, the most recent response there from an Evernote employee ("We are still working on this for a future update. I will let you know as more develops.") was over a year ago. It is really disturbing that they have neglected this for so long. One user suggested that this is how Evernote is bringing the peoples of the Middle East together!
  10. Glad it helped. Some things easy, some things unexpectedly complicated, some things only complicated because I never knew I wanted such a thing before Evernote made it possible. IMHO.
  11. It's possible on the Windows and Mac platforms to merge multiple notes into one. If you don't want them to end up merged, here's what I would do: Create a temporary or utility notebook for this purpose. Copy (don't move) the relevant notes to this notebook. In the temporary or utility notebook, select the notes in the sequence I desire and then merge them (the option shows up automatically in Windows when multiple notes are selected; or use Note > Merge Notes). Print the resulting merged note to PDF or whatever. Delete the now-unnecessary merged note to avoid confusion.
  12. Different platforms have widely differing underlying operating system structures and capability, and differing programming requirements, so it doesn't surprise me that something relatively "advanced" like this is available in some places and not others. It's not possible in the Evernote Web interface either, only on Windows and Mac. I agree that it would be great to have, but I don't know how easy (or even possible) it would be. For me, at least, not being able to merge notes on my Android device doesn't inhibit me from capturing information on it; I just need to go somewhere else to manage the info in certain ways. BTW, these are mostly user-to-user forums; Evernote staff peek in sometimes, but we're not able to address them directly here.
  13. Waaaiiit a minute.... You're making a reasonable point based on experience, in a calm and rational tone of voice. Are you sure you're in the right forum?
  14. Odd indeed. We don't know if it solved the OP's problem, but ... have you tried restarting Evernote (using File > Exit), and if that doesn't work restarting the computer?
  15. I've experienced this sometimes (unpredictably) also. Sometimes opening the note for editing helps, sometimes just tapping it till it responds does the job. Don't know whether this is caused by Evernote, Android, or some interaction between them.
  16. OK, well, that was all I had. As Cal said, Evernote will sometimes sync outside those settings anyway, assuming that sync is the cause of the problem. Can you give a little more detail about what happens and under what circumstances. It may be that others here have experienced something similar.
  17. Tools > Options > Synchronization offers some control over when notes sync. Is it possible that (as others have reported) this is the bug in which the cursor jumps to the note title on sync? I believe the fix (until the bug itself is fixed) is Tools > Options > Note > deselect Set new note focus to title. I could be off on that, though.
  18. On the View menu, do you have Note List (F11) checked? That will display a list of notes between the notebooks and the individual note currently in focus. The list can be viewed and sorted in a variety of ways. With the Note List displayed, click the down arrow to the left of the Search Notes field. That will drop down a list of possible views and sort orders. Sorting by Updated in Reverse order will put the most recent ones at the top. You can either view the notes in a particular notebook (by clicking on it in the left panel), or use Ctrl+Shift+A (or click the All Notes icon in the toolbar) to see them all. Hope this helps.
  19. Please be aware that these forums are user-to-user, and while Evernote staffers look into them occasionally (perhaps the feature-request ones like this more often than others, though I don't really know), they're not very effective for addressing the company directly.
  20. 9 people have voted to support this request (using the up arrow at the top of this page). Evidently some people think it's a good idea, but not yet a large enough number to make it a priority.
  21. Cool! Never noticed this before. Welcome to the forums, @BradleyR. For me, a simple right-click works, without holding it especially long.
  22. I think how critical it is varies from one user to another. If you have an Android tablet as your main computer, then yes, this could be critical. For me, using Evernote at home on my Windows desktop (where printing is possible, though far from perfect) and on my Android phone while traveling, doing research at libraries, etc., I seldom have any desire to print from the Android app. Occasionally it would be useful, but not critical. I find that the beauty of Evernote is the ability to take notes (not compose chapters of a book or manage a business) on my phone, which I can then manipulate in various ways, including printing, when at my computer. But other people have other uses, and I'm sure that using Evernote in a business or other work situation on a tablet might well require printing. The question is how the Evernote developers understand the main function of their Android app, and how they prioritize needs.
  23. On which I would just refer the interested reader to:
