  1. A reference list is just that, a list. That user may not have been drafting the academic paper within Evernote. Either way, my problem is essentially the same. I'm writing a book in another software. I want to create a reference list template in Evernote so that when I am through, I can simply merge it into my document. Either way, a hanging indent should be available. Guess I'll just have to use Word, instead. I like Evernote so that I can sync without having to figure out which cloud I put it on.
  2. Thorough explanation of the problem: I use a lot of abbreviations that I may or may not ever need to use again which spell check often snags as incorrect. Sometimes I add them, sometimes not. Today I was writing a lot of surnames along with details. I got sick of the red squiggles and knowing I would definitely use those surnames again, I began adding them like crazy. Unfortunately for me, I'm faster at doing that than my brain can work because I added misspelled words (not names, not that it matters). I find it discouraging that it is so hard to correct spell check dictionaries. I'm not calling out Evernote because I blame Windows for making it difficult. I tried reading this: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/17609-how-to-edit-evernote-dictionary/ and this https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/25994-add-remove-words-spell-checking-dictionary-windows-10-a.html#option2 because I thought that perhaps since the first one didn't work, maybe it was a Windows thing. It didn't matter, neither of them work, for one, the default.dic file was empty so that was no help. I tried deleting it and it was unchanged. I am at a loss on how to handle this. Quick problem (for those TLDR folks): How do I edit words that I have accidentally added to spell check, as okay? It is not in C:\Users\magnoliasouth\AppData\Local\Evernote\Evernote\Dict\user.dic or any folder past C:\Users\magnoliasouth\AppData\Local\Evernote* Oh and no, my PC doesn't name me as magnoliasouth.
  3. Ah. I searched and didn't find that because I wasn't looking for thumnail. Very interesting and you're right. My OCD says it doesn't like that answer. Oh well, it'll get over it. Many thanks!
  4. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but this is bothering my OCD. I have several images in a single note, or rather a lot of notes but that's not the point. In Note List View it somehow chooses which image it wants you to preview. I can't stand what it's showing me because it's not the main image of the note. Is there a way to customize which image it previews for you? Oh and while I'm posting, because posting reminded me of it, is there a way to permanently turn on "Notify me of replies". I appreciate so much that Evernote doesn't want to inundate you with a ton of undesired messages but if I post something I always want to know about replies. Many thanks for any help! I just love Evernote and believe it or not, I've been a paid subscriber for years now and just realized the many ways I can truly enjoy it. DUH! I'm so glad I have this!
  5. Just a semi-quick question. When I attach scanned documents as pdf's (and I am a premium subscriber) how long does it take for Evernote to index it? Today was the first time that I used this feature and it seems to be taking some time, which is why I ask. I have no problem waiting, I just want to know the limit so I know when it's a problem.   6. I agree that this is absolutely and 100% necessary. I would prefer to edit my blog posts in Evernote then upload the html, because some of the images I use are permissively embedded. I find it offensive when people automatically say the feature shouldn't be added simply because they're afraid of it or would not use it. The easiest solution to that is simply: DON'T USE IT THEN! It's offensive because you want to deprive those of us who have legitimate reasons for requesting it, simply because you either don't like it, or are afraid. That's like telling people they shouldn't get a dog because it may bite them, or because you don't like them. It's insanity. I don't mean to sound flippant, but really that's just simply uncooperative, to put it mildly.
  7. I'm not sure what I did. I was typing and accidentally hit some key. I've no idea what key it was but suddenly a gray elephant popped up, then before I could hover over it it slipped back away out of sight. What did I do? I want to make sure I didn't reset or change anything by accident. I'm a paid user, if it matters.
  8. Thanks GrumpyMonkey, but I have the Windows version. Yay for jaybenson2 if that's how you feel, but I do NOT and I think Evernote could be better if it gave us the option, just as GM agrees.
  9. One thing that I'd like to change is that I prefer to have the Notebook's notes sorted by "last updated". I will never use "by created", ever. I can set it during one session, but the next time my comptuer restarts, blam, back to "by created." sigh Please give us the option to either choose our own default setting OR let it remember our last setting. Surely there are others who want it to sort their way. Anyone else agree?
  10. 1) It's inconvenient 2) It's slow (especially for big and complex notes) 3) It requires buying of a separate Word application (and on Mac MS Word is hell of a software) We really need a built-in Evernote highlighting +10,000 on that.

  12. I can't. Well kind of. I can use the note count for notebooks but not for stacks. I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to be able to for stacks either. The only thing I get for those is "rename stack". I'm not sure which version of Android I have, because I'm using Kindle Fire. I've yet to figure out a way to tell what Android version it's using.
