    afaik Evernote's backup data is not protected by user account passwords Users simply do not have access to the backup data An exception is the Note History backup data. Users can only access this data using their current id/password

    You're right The Legacy version would have to be installed before restoring the .exb file

    That's valid, and the solution is simple Install a legacy version and ignore this version 10 trauma Check back in a month or so

    You need to restore your .exb file from the backups Also, make sure you've disabled syncing or go offline edit: This is a pre version 10 solution, restoring pre v10 backups You need to install the Evernote legacy app to use the .exb file

    This is the device limit for Basic accounts - you're only allowed two devices (web access is counted as one device) Deleting the database on the Mac will not impact the PC The master data copy is stored on the Evernote servers (except for Local Notebooks)

    In the Legacy version, location is latitude/longitude metadata In v10, I added the location column to my note list - it show the Notebook metadata

    I understand when online, we're using the search capabilities of the server data When offline, I'm seeing a lack of capabilities - no text search - no intitle text search

    Agreed - Evernote lied about version 10 being an "upgrade"

    That would be a great analogy - Evernote reversing direction and reinstalling Evernote Legacy as their product It the meantime, Evernote Legacy is working for me

    You might be interesting in using the Legacy version >>can someone say how in any sense the newer version is better than the older one? I don't find the v10 better than the legacy product (yet) I see this as release .0 of a new product; a framework for the implementation of features

    For myself, I consider the top alternative to Evernote 10 is Evernote Legacy I'll monitor v10 and possibly switch after this initial work is completed
